Episode 1: Origins

I was intrigued with this from the beginning as the concept was just so... yeah. Anyhow, I liked how this episode was short, but it served as a basic set-up for our main character and how he came to be. I'm looking forward to great things from this spin-off.

B+,

8.7/10

i decide to bring this back since this thread is dying so i wanted to make a shory review of one spin-off i've been followed.

Storm Racers - Season 3

i must say this is very brilliant season that you took this up to build this up and especially introducing Ancient Titans as new foe to Undersea Force. I actually liked Bishop's character development a lot, Bishop looks so badass in this season right there.

as for my favorite episode, probably will go *Kordon on the Run* and the episode where they go time travel episode.

Once again, a great season for Storm Racers. I can't wait what's in stores for Season 4 focus on the heroes for the new adventures.

Grade: A+

review for "removed"

yo why did you make this, like why did the thought of  "i really should write a semi-sex story for a playhouse disney cartoon and then post it to a spongebob forum" go thru your mind. otherwise great grammar and situations 10/10

edit: like i get it's a joke but like why.

RISEOFTHECOCONUTS: D-

I'd never thought I'd make a spin-off review now and I'd never thought it would be a review of this one. You're trolling with us, aren't you? First episode in, and it seems to have the energy of a trollfic. What is the purpose of this? To be the next Bubby00000? To create one of the finest joke spin-offs? I've proven myself wrong that this spin-off was going to be ridiculously short, but here's a number of problems I find with the first episode: The buuuuuuuuuuuuut running joke gets old fast, "released ton of TheOpenWindowManicz" doesn't make any sense, and it just wasn't funny. To be fair, I'll give you a D-, because if I gave it an F, it would mean I'm taking this spin-off too seriously. I'll await to see the rest of your chapters, or maybe I won't.

Doody Era

This is a very creative and well-written lit from the mind of Aquatic Nuggets that turns SBC into a Game of Thrones-esque mythical kingdom. I just love how takes places like Xat, Turntable, Roblox and finds a way to make them fit in his world. I also enjoy the references to SpongeBob and references to other lits that he sprinkles into the series, like the Patty Wagon and Rusty train. The characterizations translate SBC members' personalities into the Doody Era world successfully, and even when they aren't as accurate, like with my character, they're still interesting and entertaining. This is a lit that knows when to be serious, when to be silly, when to focus on plot, and when to focus on the little character moments that keep us coming episode after episode. Overall, I give Doody Era an A, and I can't wait to see what Nuggets comes up with for the next season.

Doody Era - A+

i might write my review of it too, but i'll make short one since i don't usually write long review like JCM does :P.

Anyways, Doody Era is one of interesting lit i liked to read, it was amazing, the idea of the plot on having jjs & Shinya to deliver the spin-offs to SBM to end the era is good.

Overall, Doody Era is awesome to read so keep it up great work, AN. I am looking forward to Season 2.

gonna review the three episodes I wrote

The SpongeBob Element: C+

Eh, I was trying here. It had some good parts, but it also felt like a ripoff at some scenes. I don't think it was bad, yet I can see why it didn't win the spin-off war.

SBC: The Dome episodes

The Beginning: D-

A total flop. This episode really sucked, it's only purpose of existence is to introduce the story. It isn't funny, it's just...blah. This episode was so bad that it caused the show to go on hiatus or almost move to Davey Jones' Locker! Luckily I had the members vote (and they somehow LIKED it) and the series still exist. I guess you kinda have to read it though, for the other episodes to make sense. Either way, it's still pretty bad.

SpongeBob Survival: A+

This episode was the polar opposite of the first episode. It's amazing. Every joke worked. I just went with the flow on this one, and it came out perfectly. I couldn't praise dis beautiful episode anymore. READ IT!

Should I find it weird how I'm seeing you review your own stuff? I can let this slide since I didn't catch you saying "these episodes are dope!"

Well, I'm reviewing to see how my things hold up. I'm also trying to see where I can improve and what I did right. Also I wanted to revive this topic and I didn't know what else to review.

Still fine with me, but anyhow, there's tons of other spin-offs in the archive and nothing's stopping you.

Well, idk. I kinda just wanted to revive it and didn't think about choosing a spin off.

I decided to catch up on some of the spin-offs I missed during my time away, so I'll do the occasional review or two. I'll likely make the review about the entire show or seasons rather episodes as that would take more space then needed. Anyhow, I'll stop rambling and review already.

Killer Krab A+

I ended up reading this not too long ago, and I could honestly say this is easily in my top 5 spin-offs I've ever read. The storyline was encaptivating the whole way through with that occasional bit of Spongebob references and humor to go with the dark story. The pacing was perfect too as it seemed we never found too much to spoil anything. I also like that the deaths were not fully detailed beyond an almost cartoony sound such as "yelp" or "splat" considering these are still cartoon characters. My sole complaint was that the "A Patty, Is a Patty! That's What I Saaaay!" two-parter felt confusing to read with how Krabs returned back from the dead, but it's a minor complaint in the big scheme of it all. All in all, quite fantastic I'd say.

Full SBC & SBC Vegas by ZaidCatDog - F

...Even assuming these spin-offs are supposed to be parodies, they're still not well done. The storytelling is jumbled and when not confusing, weak, the SBC characters have no personality or likability, and worst of all, the humor is bland. I feel that's the best way I can review these spin-offs in short, and to be honest, I don't feel a detailed review is necessary at all. However, I also don't feel that it would be constructive criticism to leave my review at just two lines of criticism giving you no advice on how to improve, so here we go...

1.) Detail what is going on in the story in a clear, coherent manner. If you like fast-paced stories, that's fine, so do I. But there's a difference between fast-paced and rushed. These spin-offs are so rushed that I barely understood what was going on in them. Seriously, don't kick an episode off with "PHONE CALL FROM CHARACTER WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT GET IN THE CAR ADVANCE PLOT" or "OH, I'M IN A CASINO YOU KILLED MY GOONS PROTAGONIST POV ANTAGONIST POV WHAT THE FUDGE IS GOING ON POV", because that's just rushing into a story we've been given no reason to care about.

2.) ESTABLISH THE SBC CHARACTERS. If these spin-offs are supposed to be SBC versions/spoofs of shows, why are you not giving your characters personalities similar to the characters from the shows? Your characters should not just be plot devices, and even if they are parodies of characters from the shows, they need to have some sort of character depth.

3.) TELL JOKES. This is vital, this is the reason SBC version/spoof shows like SBCinema and SBC Falls work, because they use the material they parody as an opportunity to tell jokes. A radio playing Sailor Moon music just because CNF likes Sailor Moon is not a joke. Someone missing a concert just because they forgot about it is not a joke. Dylan choking a goon is not a joke. A villain being stupid enough to fall for the tired "LOOK OVER THERE" trick is not a joke. If these stories are supposed to be parodies, you completely missed the point of parody by not telling actual jokes about the source material.

A harsh critique, I know. But I am not writing this out of malice, I am writing this in hopes you will read this and work to improve.

Total Cartoon Global Cruise - F

It's been awhile since I've actually done a review.  Maybe due to the fact that I review everything but spin-offs and lits now it feels like.  Sure we've come across some joke stories that are worthy of mocking/riffing and sure we have one note stories that have no real reason to exist (see MS's review above).  Today I think this needs to be said about a spin-off that we all know gets hated on way too much and actually managed to improve...somewhat.  I still am not a fan of this show but I will admit that 4EverGreen managed to actually improve on his criticisms and kinda gave us an original ending instead of the rehashing the series is well known for.

Yes we are all aware that 4EG's current running work has always been poked fun of too often or gets overhated since so many people comment on the giant walls of text or the fact that it constantly borrows elements of the Total Drama series word for word, plot for plot, etc.  But there lies a real problem with Total Cartoon World Tour's present season.  The amount of characters.  The fact that this has 50+ characters is daring because that means 4EG needs to commit heavily into establishing them in his present universe that he has set upon himself.  Right?  Well here's the thing.  It's not working.  I know I've gotten on Bikini Top and SBCPU in riffing theater for having way too many characters, but holy crap.  At least 70s and Jjs managed to have a plan for their characters in each episode.  At least 4EG in the past has been able to make his characters established, even if they were Total Drama carbon copies, in his previous two seasons.  This season so far has been all about establishing 4EverGreen into his own universe he's been building upon for himself and it fails.  Badly at that.  He gives himself way too much focus that he doesn’t help establish everyone else around him.  After all, he added 25 or so other contests, so you would figure that he would try to establish them too right?  No.  I mean we get even more love triangles, including 4EG and Marlene…what?  Seriously what?  I know the series has some incredibly awkward romantic triangles but an actual human and an otter is one too many.  It’s bad that that’s the only thing I know about Marlene in general.  I literally know nothing about any of these characters except they are carbon copies.  It would be nice to establish more than just yourself because why should we care about any of these characters?  You are making Timmy Turner into Ezekiel.  Why?  You are making Otto Rocket into Duncan because he doesn’t want to sing.  Why?  This is just hard to read and it’s making me cringe when I’m trying to read it.

Even then, these episodes are becoming way too much.  It’s one thing for them to become the giant walls of texts that we tend to expect from the Total Cartoon franchise, but it’s another thing entirely when you have characters this poorly established, rehashing forced musical numbers, and massive what the fuck non Total Drama based plot lines (the teams are fighting some DBZ type villain what?).  Total Cartoon Global Cruise is just becoming incredibly hard to read.  Much harder than usual.  I don’t want to say all hope is loss or anything.  This season is still young and does have potential to fix these mistakes, but I honestly don’t think this will be resolved at all.  It’s impossible to build up these characters after being introduced this badly (get to know your contestants wouldn’t have fixed these problems either), this storyline will become a season long problem and it’s really bad, and the musical numbers won’t go away because it’s based off being a carbon copy of TDWT.  I know how hated this series gets and I understand why people hate it.  Sometimes it does get overhated despite being still considered bad, but honestly.  This season so far is the worst thing the show has ever done and someone needs to say it now before it gets even worse and harder to read than it is now.

Also, isn’t this supposed to be a global cruise?  Because if it’s a cruise, why is it still on a plane?  Just saying.
