JCM
The internet cannot and will not die. It's too big right now, and that dumb bill couldn't stunt its growth even if it did pass, which as I've said many times before, it won't.

SpongeOddFan
hm....it's look like the bill is failed, as it supposed to be passed on Dec 16th
JCM
I think they just postponed it until some more advances are made. The industries are too powerful for this bill to just end like that. There's going to be a lot more deliberating, I'm sure.
Sebby
A bunch of websites are protesting the legislations today, including Wikipedia, which has shut down for 24 hours.
Steel Sponge
Would it be easier to call it SOPA/PIPA? So yeah, I've noticed that certain websites are protesting against it. My opinion on the blacklist, probably the worst idea ever since...something.
Clappy
Wikipedia is protesting? Then how come I can still access Wikipedia through my iPhone?
Metal Snake
Wikipedia is protesting? Then how come I can still access Wikipedia through my iPhone? I can't access it with my computer at the moment. Every time I go on there, it goes to the blackout explanation once the page finishes loading. But yeah, they have definitely announced their extreme disapproval in the SOPA act.
Sebby
And that's coming from a website that has been known to be strictly neutral about issues.

Ron
The Internet will be able to protect itself. Then again, we just lost the best place for getting free video content, so you never know.
Elastic Dawg
Can I make a separate thread for Megaupload? Since it really didn't have to do with SOPA. As for SOPA itself, it's not gonna pass. Not even congress is that fucking stupid.
