25. The Mr. Dr. Professor of Vertigo

Movie: The Wizard of Oz

So Cal girl Sauce Mama lives with her Aunt Jelly, her Old Man Jenkins and her three imaginary fathers, Smiles Pa, Papa Sauce, and The Saucefather. When a little boy named ACS is bitten by Sauce's pet dog, Elastic, he gets Sheriff William Leonard's order and takes him away to be destroyed and demands full control of SBC. He escapes and returns to Sauce, who, fearing for his life, runs away with him. Sauce soon encounters a traveling fortune teller named Mr. Doctor Professor Patrick, who guesses she has run away and tells her fortune. He convinces her to return home by falsely telling her that Aunt Jelly has fallen ill from grief. With a monsoon fast approaching, she rushes back to her house, but is unable to join her family in the locked storm cellar. Taking shelter inside the house, she is knocked unconscious by a window frame blown in by the monsoon.

Sauce awakens to find the house being carried away by the monsoon. After it falls back to earth, she opens the door and finds herself alone in a strange village. Arriving in a floating bubble, CF, the Good Witch of the North, informs her that her house landed on and killed the Wicked Warlock of the East (JCM in a cameo). The timid Good Noodles and Krusty Krushers come out of hiding to celebrate the Warlock's demise by singing "Ding-Dong! The Dick Is Dead".

Their celebration is interrupted when the Wicked Bitch of the West (ACS) suddenly appears in a cloud of smoke and tries to claim his dead brother's powerful ruby slippers. But CF magically transfers them onto Sauce's feet and reminds the Bitch of the West that his power is ineffectual in SBC Land. He promises Sauce "I'LL GET YOU MY PWETTY! AND YOUR LITTLE ELASTIC CANINE TOO! AND SBC!" before leaving the same way he arrived. When Sauce asks how to get back home, CF advises her to seek the help of the mysterious Mr. Dr. Professor of Vertigo, which she can reach by following the Yellow Brick Road, and warns her never to remove the ruby slippers or she will be at the mercy of the Wicked Bitch.

On her way to the city, Sauce meets a Scareclaps, a Metallic Snake, and a Cowardly Unlimitedcat, who lament to her that they respectively lack a brain, a heart, and courage. The three decide to accompany her in hopes that the Mr. Dr. Professor will also fulfill their desires, although they demonstrate that they already have the qualities they believe they lack: the Scareclaps has several good ideas, the Metal Snake is kind and sympathetic, and the UC, though terrified, is ready to face danger. After Sauce and the Unlimitedcat nearly succumb to one of the Bitch's traps, the quartet enter Vertigo as they shout "Hello, hello!" and are allowed to see the Mr. Dr. Professor, who appears amidst smoke and flames as a disembodied, intimidating head. In a booming voice, he states that he will consider granting their wishes if they bring him the Wicked Bitch's shitty flight simulator.

The group set out for the Bitch's castle, but he detects them and dispatches his army of flying monkeys called the IAVA, who carry Sauce and Elastic back to him. When the Bitch threatens to drown Elastic, Sauce agrees to give up the ruby slippers, but a shower of sparks prevents their removal. Realizing they can't be removed unless Sauce dies, the Bitch leaves to ponder how to accomplish this. Elastic escapes and leads Sauce's companions to the castle. After overpowering some of the IAVA and disguising themselves in their uniforms, they find and free her. The Bitch and the IAVA corner the group on a parapet, where he sets the Scareclaps's arm ablaze with his shitty flight simulator. Sauce throws water on her friend and accidentally splashes the Bitch, causing him to melt. The IAVA are ecstatic, and their captain gives Sauce the shitty flight simulator.

Upon their triumphant return to the Mr. Dr. Professor's chamber, Elastic opens a curtain, revealing him to be an ordinary man operating a console of wheels and levers while speaking into a microphone. Apologetic, he explains that Sauce's companions already possess what they have been seeking all along, but bestows upon them tokens of esteem in recognition of their respective virtues. Explaining that he too was born in So Cal, and was brought to Vertigo by a runaway hot air balloon, he offers to take Sauce home in the same balloon, leaving the Scareclaps, Metal Snake, and Unlimitedcat in charge of Vertigo. As they are about to leave, Elastic jumps out of the balloon's basket and Sauce runs after him. The Mr. Dr. Professor, unable to control the balloon, leaves without her. As she despairs of ever getting back home, CF appears and tells her that she always had the power to return home, but that she needed to learn for herself that she didn't have to run away to find her heart's desire. She bids her friends goodbye, then follows CF's instructions to close her eyes, tap her heels together three times, and keeps repeating "There's no place like home". Sauce awakens in her bedroom in So Cal, surrounded by family and friends, and tells them of her journey. Although Auntie Jelly assures her it was all a dream, Sauce insists it was real and promises never to run away from home again while OMJ and the three imaginary fathers of Sauce are all ecstatic.

And being a witness to the convo that started this, I must say this might be favorite episode yet. Everything was hellalariously perfect right down to the flying monkies and ACS' unhealthy obsession with flight simulators.

This. Absolutely hilarious, great job Claps.

It'd be a treat to see an SBCinema version of the Rambo franchise with Wumbo in the title role.

Mumbo Wumbo?

Anywho, time for the much heavily promoted premiere of the newest lit....oh wait, this isn't the Sponge Critic? This is just another edition of SBCinema? Whoops.

26. Michael and the Chocolate Factory

Movie: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971 version)

Michael MN is a poor boy living with the Nostalgia Critic and four bed-ridden grandparents in a dilapidated house in an industrial town. Michael supplements the meager family income by delivering newspapers after school since the Nostalgia Critic is too busy spending their income on guns, alcohol, and other forms of cheap gags.

One day, the family, along with the rest of the world, learns that the local candy maker Steely Sponge has hidden five Golden Tickets amongst his Steel Bars. The finders of these special tickets will be given a full tour of his tightly-guarded candy factory, as well as a lifetime supply of CHOCOLATE. Michael wants to take part in the search, but cannot afford to buy vast quantities of CHOCOLATE like other participants. Four of the tickets are found by: Maxwell Gloop, a gluttonous German boy; Earl, a spoiled girl from Lemongrab (sorry SG, just had to do it :P); CF, a gum-chomping American girl; and Dylan TVguy, a television-obsessed American boy. As they find their tickets, a sinister-looking man is observed whispering in their ears, to whom they listen attentively despite their preoccupations with their particular obsessions. Michael's hopes are dashed when news breaks that the final ticket had been found by a Paraguayan millionaire (JCM in a cameo).

The next day, as the Golden Ticket craze ends, Michael finds a gold doubloon in a gutter and uses it to buy a Steel Bar. Simultaneously, word spreads that the ticket found by the millionaire was forged and that one ticket is still about somewhere. When Michael opens the bar, he finds the real golden ticket, and races home to tell his family, but is confronted by the same man who had been seen whispering to the other four winners. The man introduces himself as Boxxy Boxworth, a rival confectioner who offers to pay Michael a large sum of money for a sample of Steel's latest creation, the Everlasting Steelstopper.

Grandpa Jenkins gets out of bed to serve as Michael's tour chaperone. The next day, Steel greets the children and their guardians at the factory gates and leads them inside, requiring each to sign a contract before the tour can begin. Inside is a psychedelic wonderland full of CHOCOLATE rivers, giant edible mushrooms, lickable wallpaper and other ingenious inventions and candies, as well as Steel's workers, the small, orange-skinned, green-haired Steely-Wheelies (all portrayed by Good Noodles). As the tour progresses, each of the first four children ignore Steel's warnings, resulting in serious consequences. Maxwell is sucked through a CHOCOLATE extraction pipe system and sent to the Fudge Room, having fallen into a CHOCOLATE river from which he was trying to drink. CF transforms into a giant blueberry after trying an experimental piece of Three-Course-Dinner Gum. Earl is rejected as a "bad egg" and falls down a garbage chute in the CHOCOLATE Golden Egg Sorting Room. Dylan is shrunken to only a few inches in height after being transmitted by "Steelevision", a broadcasting technology that can send objects through television instead of pictures. The Steely-Wheelies sing a song after each incident, describing that particular child's poor behaviour. While in Steel's Inventing Room, the remaining children are each given a sample of Steel's Everlasting Steelstoppers.

Michael also succumbs to temptation along with Grandpa Jenkins, as they stay behind in the Bubble Room and sample Fizzy Lifting Drinks. They begin floating skyward and are nearly sucked into a ceiling-mounted exhaust fan. To avoid this grisly fate, they burp repeatedly until they return to the ground. Steel initially seems unaware of this incident. When Michael becomes the last remaining child on the tour, Steel dismisses him and Grandpa Jenkins and leaves for his office. When Grandpa Jenkins returns to ask about Michael's lifetime supply of chocolate, Steel irritably reveals that Michael had violated the contract by sampling the Fizzy Lifting Drinks, and thus forfeited his prize. Grandpa Jenkins vows to give Boxworth the Steelstopper in revenge. Michael, however, cannot bring himself to hurt Steel and places the Steelstopper on his desk.

Steel recants and begs for his guests' forgiveness. He reveals that "Boxworth" is actually an employee named Idiot Box, whose offer to buy the Steelstopper was a morality test for the Golden Ticket winners, and Michael was the only one who passed. The trio enter the "Steelavator", a multi-directional glass elevator, and fly out of the factory in it. As they soar over the city, Steel tells Michael that his actual prize is not just the chocolate but the factory itself, as the Golden Ticket search was created to help Steel search for an honest and worthy child to be his heir. Michael and his family will reside in the factory and take over its operation when Steel retires...except for the Nostalgia Critic, who refuses to leave his on set location because Steel's factory doesn't have any tan walls to film episodes of his web show.

27. SBC: The Other Musical

Movie: Grease

In the summer of 2012, local teenager SOF and vacationing Cha meet at the beach and fall in love. When the summer comes to an end, Cha, who is going back to Bikini Bottom, worries that they may never see each other again, but SOF reassures her.

Later, on the first day of SOF's senior year at SBC High School, he meets up with his friends, the T-Krushers in the front of the school who, like SOF, are fellow krushers. The group consists of his best friends OMJ, CDCB, Boxxy, and SpongeSebastian. In the school's parking lot, group of girls, the "Pink Noodles," consisting of “Fifi” Jelly, Smiles, WWESponge and Spandy, declare they want to "rule the school." because, this time, "they're seniors".

Cha is also at the school due to an unexpected change of plans. Cha quickly befriends Pink Noodle Smiles as she's walking into school, who is considering dropping out to go to beauty school. Oblivious to each other's presence at school, SOF and Cha ultimately tell the T-Krushers and Pink Noodles their respective accounts of their summer romance in "Summer Nights".

Upon learning SOF was Cha's summer romance, Jelly quickly arranges for the two to reunite at the school's first pep rally. Upon their reunion, SOF upsets Cha by maintaining his nonchalant badboy attitude in front of his friends after getting a look from OMJ, which causes Cha to see SOF as pretentious. Cha, who was picked to be on the cheerleading squad, was flirting with a football player. However, it seems that it was a good idea. Cha calls SOF "a fake and a phony" and says, "I wish I'd never layed eyes on you!" whereupon she throws her pom poms to the ground in anger. Smiles runs after Cha and tells her that she is to have a sleepover with the girls. Cha ends up getting sick after Smiles pierces her ears.

The T-Krushers almost end up crashing the party, but a guilty SOF tries to back out of the plan. Jelly attempts to make a pass at SOF, but SOF disgustedly turns her down saying it's gross and leaves. The remaining sidekick T-Krushers continue to make wise-cracks, and OMJ orders them out of his car. They end up leaving, very distraught, but resolve to go get pizza.

Jelly and OMJ end up parking in a run down part of town where everyone in the cars surrounding them seem to be kissing passionately, and Jelly and OMJ do the same in the back seat of his new car. OMJ is very into it, but keeps calling her "Jelly", and she demands that he call her by her first name, "Fifi". They quickly decide take their relationship to the next level by having sex, even after OMJ's condom breaks, which he calls his "25-cent insurance policy" and that he bought it in the seventh grade. They are ultimately disturbed by Webby, leader of the T-Krushers' rival gang, the Good Scorpions, and his girlfriend Cha-Cha (had to do it for the irony), who bump into OMJ's fender. OMJ yells at Webby for criticizing his car, and calls him "an ignoramus".

After SOF spies Cha flirting with SBC's muscular football star Handsome Squidward, SOF decides to try to win back Cha's affection. He turns to Coach Dylan to get involved in sports, trying wrestling (he beat up his partner); baseball (he hit people with the bat); etc. He eventually becomes a runner. He sees her still flirting with the football star, and attempts to show off by jumping and running all at once. He checks to see if she's still watching, and he trips. She runs to him, because she still cares about him, and they end up going on a date.

At the date at a local diner, SOF is happy to be with Cha and gets what he says is the best table for them. He puts up their menus for privacy, but their friends end up crashing it, resulting in OMJ and Jelly breaking up over a fight about all the hickeys that OMJ has given her, and then because OMJ is supposedly "stuck with the check". Jelly is annoyed that OMJ is asking for money from her yet again, and quickly balks at his request. OMJ, frustrated with her constant complaining, OMJ openly flirts with Smiles, and suggests that they finish with one another. In anger, Jelly yells, "Finish this!" and throws a strawberry milkshake at them, most of which lands on Smiles. Jelly apologizes to Smiles and leaves, with OMJ in hot pursuit. Left alone, Smiles is visited by a guardian angel who advises her to return to high school, in "Beauty School Drop Out".

The school dance arrives, broadcast live on television and hosted by DJ JCM (in a cameo). Jelly and OMJ attempt to spite one another by bringing Webby and Cha-Cha as their dates, while SOF and Cha come together. It is revealed that Cha-Cha is an ex-girlfriend of SOF's, who SOF tries to pass off as "an old friend of the family", which seems to appease Cha. It is implied by Smiles that Cha-Cha goofs around, whereupon SOF takes Cha away to dance. During another dance number, it looks like SOF and Cha are about to win, and the whole floor is cleared for him. Bribed by Cha-Cha, Boxxy (Spandy's date and presumably upset that Spandy dumped him for Handsome Rainbow Dash himself, still in cameo) steps in and pulls Cha off the dance floor, making way for Cha-Cha. Causing SOF and Cha-Cha to reunite, and win the dance-off. They must share a spotlight dance as part of the tradition after winning the trophy, and SOF, oddly, is more than happy to oblige.

SOF tries to make it up to Cha by taking her to a drive-in theater. Cha demands to know whether or not SOF and Cha-Cha were a couple, and gets her answer. SOF, in an attempt to win Cha over, asks her to wear his ring, a symbol that they are an official couple. Delighted, Cha says that she really knows now that SOF is serious about her and that he really respects her. They are silent for a while and things are going well, but SOF ends up making several passes at Cha, causing Cha to flee in anger. SOF runs after her, telling her that she "can't run out of drive in! not today dog!" but she is already gone. SOF sits down on a swing while an old advertisement for the fast food available at the drive in plays behind him. He reveals his love for Cha to the audience, with "Cha".

Meanwhile, Jelly fears she is pregnant after missing a period and confides to Spandy, who ends up telling Boxxy (even after she promised not to tell anyone), who in turn spreads the rumor which eventually reaches OMJ, who is the potential father. OMJ quickly apologizes to Jelly for their fight and says he'll be there for her and the baby, but Jelly tells him out of spite that it isn't his. The implication is that it's Webby’s and Webby and OMJ challenge each other to a car race.

The race arrives and Cha is desperate to find SOF. She happens to be in the same place as Jelly, who is being mocked by CF and her crew. Cha offers to be there for Jelly and they two share a friendly moment. Jelly ponders her future and her relationship with OMJ but is startled when she sees him in the distance. In "There Are Worst Things I Could Do". Jelly ultimately ends up running off as OMJ heads for the race track and Cha goes to watch.

They're ready to race, but OMJ is accidentally knocked out by CDCB when he opened the door and hit OMJ while he was reaching down for a penny that WWESponge (CDCB's girlfriend and a Pink Noodle) was about to give him, so SOF takes up the challenge. He and Webby race until Webby crashes and is left humiliated, with SOF as the victor. Cha watches from afar, concluding she still loves SOF and decides, this time, to change her attitude and look to impress him.

On the last day of school, while Principal NegiSpongie and her assistant sob about the departing class, the class celebrate their graduation at the fair on the school grounds. Jelly discovers she is not pregnant after all and an overjoyed OMJ offers to "make an honest woman" of her as they reconcile. SOF has become a jock but is shocked when Cha appears smoking and dressed in black leather and teased hair. In "You're The One That I Want", the two admit they love each other and reunite. The film ends with SOF and Cha departing in SOF's car which takes flight, and wave goodbye to their friends as they leave. The film ends with credits in the style of a yearbook.
