Jjs Goodman Posted August 1, 2014 Share Posted August 1, 2014 This is not 100% confirmed, but according to this part of this article, Hillenburg might be more involved with the show after they are finished with the 2nd movie. Paul Tibbitt and Vincent Waller have mentioned Hillenburg may be more involved on their twitters before as well, so this is seeming more likely. Despite popular belief, he did not leave the show; he still has been the executive producer since S4 (although I think he just gave the crew advice and suggestions, otherwise he didn't do much). That being said, don't expect Season 2 quality immediately as he hasn't done this in over 10 years now -- and not to mention that other writers such as Derek will probably be absent too. However, theres' no denying that the show would get better, with the movie's trailer as visible proof so please please come back Hillenburg!!
