SBC's Top 50 Worst Episodes Ever 2016 Edition

48 - that episode could've been half-hour special rather rushed episode with only 2mins of Texas. Also SB kidnapping everyone? uh that's just not good. Overall, a meh episode.

47 pt 1: Eh, i didn't like it anyways but it was really that gross looking at Gummy that Patrick kept it for that long time but yeah it's disgusting episode IMO.

46 (pt2) - This made on my list, I find this episode is annoying as i couldn't stand how many times he had been laughing all day ugh, so I don't have much to say this one beside annoying laugh per minute, but this is pretty bad IMO.

Once again, 45 is another tie, this time a three-way tie (yeah, there's a lot of ties early in this list), so that'll also compose 44 unofficially. Commentary spots are still open btw if you want to hit me up.

45 (1) / 44. Gone

49 points. 4 out of 23 lists. (Highest Ranking: #1 - @Dr. WhoBob )

SpongeBob wakes up one morning and finds out that Gary is missing, and discovers that he is the only one left in Bikini Bottom. At first, SpongeBob finds this hard to take. In panic, he runs around town in a desperate attempt to find someone, only to find no one. When the others do not return, SpongeBob then decides to live out everyone's lives for them. He makes a bubble version of himself in his front yard, then runs to the top floor of Squidward's house, pretending to be Squidward yelling at SpongeBob for making too much noise. SpongeBob then runs to the Krusty Krab, imitating Squidward and Mr. Krabs. He imitates Sandy at the Treedome and Patrick in his house before running to the boating school and pretending to be Mrs. Puff.

In the classroom, he realizes that living out everyone's lives will not work, and he breaks down crying on Mrs. Puff's desk. SpongeBob's mood quickly changes when he discovers a stack of blank driver's licenses. He takes a picture of himself, and prints out his own license. He then takes off with the student test boat, naming it "Boaty," and joyriding throughout the city. SpongeBob and Boaty become inseparable best friends. SpongeBob sleeps with the boat, and parks it inside both his house and the Krusty Krab. SpongeBob is going insane without people to talk to, and Boaty realizes this. In his closet, SpongeBob has erected a statue of Patrick out of raw Krabby Patty meat, which he carries out a conversation with. The  "Patty-Patrick" warns him that he cannot talk because Boaty is listening. He goes crazy from the sight of any motor vehicle, and when a bus comes, he grabs a fire ax from the cinema to chop at the bus that approaches him.

To his surprise, everyone in Bikini Bottom comes out of it. Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob that everyone's mysterious disappearance was really a holiday to celebrate being away from SpongeBob for a day (according to SpongeBob, they were gone for weeks) called National No SpongeBob Day. Before venturing off, a giant effigy of SpongeBob is erected, and then burned. Everyone then dances on the ashes to celebrate. SpongeBob is deeply saddened by this but Mr. Krabs tells him that the holiday is an honor. Patrick recommends a "No Patrick Day." After Patrick says this, everyone celebrates National No Patrick Day and boards the bus except for Patrick, obviously forgetting what he just said.

Jjs: This is the first time this episode's been on a worst list, and I figured it was a matter of time since I know the feedback it gets. I myself am neutral on this episode. Don't really like it, but I don't outright hate it either. It's just there for me. Other than the ending, which I can totally see people hating, the rest of it is just kind of boring and there for me. I'm sure you all want to hear from WhoBob since he has this as his number one episode.

WhoBob: If there's one thing I have to admit, it's that this episode is not my least favorite SpongeBob episode. My #2 is my least favorite episode and the reason is that I think rest of the episode was decent. I enjoyed SpongeBob's impersonations of his friends and I enjoyed SpongeBob slowly going insane (it makes sense btw). But the reason why this is me my #1 is that the ending ruins rest of the episode. To be honest, the ending of Gone is my least favorite SpongeBob moment ever. I hate it more than my least favorite episode and here's why. All citizens of Bikini Bottom leave SpongeBob for weeks, so they can celebrate No SpongeBob Day. Why did they do that? Because they needed to stay away from SpongeBob's annoyance. Ok, I could see Squidward and Mrs. Puff leaving Bikini Bottom for weeks because they get annoyed by SpongeBob most but the whole town, especially for weeks? Not the mention they celebrate the day by burning SpongeBob status and dance on it's ashes? Seriously, this isn't just them staying away, this is basically them having a hate-boner for SpongeBob and they really don't seem to think the consequences of this. SpongeBob went insane because he was alone. Did nobody think of that? They never cared what could have happened to SpongeBob. That's very mean-spirited and it makes no sense whatsoever. I know people defended this because SpongeBob did cause trouble in the past, I'm not denying but he did more good than bad and no one in Bikini Bottom seems to recognize İt. Bikini Bottom would fall without SpongeBob, we know it's true. Mr. Krabs said it was celebrated because it was dedicated to honor SpongeBob or something similar like that but I call this a bullshit since burning SpongeBob's statue and dancing on it's ashes is sure a great way to honor him, right? Lets left the person that honor alone for weeks and celebrate the weeks of how much joyful it is not to have SpongeBob around, yet see this as honoring him. I could have at least SpongeBob's closest friends not supporting this but nope, they joined as well, no matter how SpongeBob is meant for them. Also I'm shocked that SpongeBob managed to accept this. Yeah, he's naive but not this naive. We saw what he can do when people piss him off. Okay, maybe I'm taking this too seriously but that's because I love SpongeBob and I care for him, he's one of my favorite characters of all-time. Seeing everyone puking their hatred for SpongeBob, even his closest friends makes me hate the ending since I know SpongeBob is a good person and he doesn't deserve any of this. As a joke, I don't see how it's funny in any way, it's very cruel and I don't like it. This is how I feel about the ending. I really think it's the worst moment in SpongeBob history. If rest of the episode sucked as well, this would be no doubt my least favorite SpongeBob episode of all-time but this is still gonna be my #1 because the ending ruins rest of the episode.

45 (2) / 44. InSPONGEiac

jSkquhw.jpg?1

49 points. 3 out of 23 lists. (Highest Ranking: #3 - @CyanideFishbone )

It is a very fine day in Bikini Bottom, and down at the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob adds one percent too much mustard to the Krabby Patties. Mr. Krabs isn't happy with this as this gross excess would lead him to bankruptcy within the next four hundred years, however, he assumes SpongeBob is an insomniac (a disorder where a person has sleeping difficulties). So, Mr. Krabs sends SpongeBob home to get more shut-eye.

SpongeBob has a hard time sleeping, so he goes to Patrick's house. Patrick tries to help SpongeBob asleep by reading a bedtime story. This doesn't work, since it is a "wake-up story" (The Land of Perpetual Excitement). Then, Patrick sings SpongeBob his "lullaby," but it is really a wake-up song, since it has the lyrics, "Get up, be active! Get up, be active!" Then Patrick gives SpongeBob coffee, which makes SpongeBob even more awake.

SpongeBob starts running around, and starts hallucinating things, such as a talking glass of milk, a bunch of Squidwards, etc. Then, he hallucinates Patrick eating him, thinking he's a spongecake. Inside Patrick, SpongeBob hallucinates a sunrise. He begs it to let him sleep for just five minutes, before he hallucinates Sir Cecil the sleep wizard. Sir Cecil puts sleepy dust (which is really litter from Gary's litter box) on SpongeBob, then he falls asleep. When SpongeBob wakes up in Gary's litter box, he snaps back to reality.

Realizing he's late for work, a very tired SpongeBob goes to Krusty Krab to sleep in a barrel of mustard. Mr. Krabs takes SpongeBob out of the barrel of ruined mustard, and wonders why SpongeBob couldn't sleep. The sponge confesses that his "insomnia" got the best of him. Then, he starts crying tears made of mustard. He cries the perfect amount that is needed to be on the patties. Squidward is happy and claims that it's the best day of work ever, because he got to see SpongeBob being forced to cry mustard.

Jjs: Once again, this makes it on here, and like last year, I don't understand the hate for this one. I thought it was alright. Not great or anything, but there were some amusing parts. However, I can see why people wouldn't like SpongeBob's treatment in it, and maybe the humor is a bit awkward. Still, I wouldn't consider it one of the worst Season 8 episodes, but oh well. Since I don't have anything else against it, I invited big man Hal again to hear his thoughts, as he had this high up on his list.

Halibut: As far as I'm concerned, there is a certain huge group of episodes from seasons six to eight that, back in 2014, the SpongeBob "fanbase" and Enter worshippers loved to hate basically only because they're subpar post-movie episodes. Looking back, a lot of these episodes' badness were blown way out of proportion. My personal examples are stuff like Boating Buddies, Dear Vikings, and ESPECIALLY One Coarse Meal. I don't hate any of these episodes, but when the hatred of post-movie was at its most fertile and most toxic, there were episodes that I truly did like to see the hatred of. One of these was InSPONGEiac.

I assume that most people on here and such just see it as sorta-bad, but I truly hate it with every fiber of my being. It's insulting on almost all levels. First of all, the god damn animation. I know it's a nitpick, but every single episode in season 7 and 8 were absolutely dreadful to look at. It was the epitome of blandness, and it did not do this episode any favors. Of course, like I said, that's a nitpick, because the major reason I find this episode so insulting is because of how SpongeBob is treated.

I know that most true SpongeBob fans have gotten PTSD from the phrase "torture porn", but this episode gets close to deserving of the title. I don't care if it's a cartoon, but Mr. Krabs basically completely harming SpongeBob by making him overly paranoid about sleep isn't even remotely funny. Any episode where Krabs' cheap antics reak of pointlessness immediately get on my bad side, and this is no exception.

Plus, do I really have to bring up the ending? SpongeBob is crying mustard because he was so tired that he had to bathe in it... and Krabs just uses it for the Patties? Completely unbelievable, even for a show like SpongeBob. Patrick is a big offender too, with his terribly stupid ways to help SpongeBob and basically just making things much worse.

This episode really doesn't get enough hate for me.

45 (3) / 44. The Cent of Money

R4iBjx7.jpg?1

49 points. 5 out of 23 lists. (Highest Ranking: #13 - @Wumbo )

SpongeBob is taking Gary for a walk. They spot Mr. Krabs in a free parking spot. Gary gets a little spazzy, so Mr. Krabs asks what's wrong. SpongeBob says that's what Gary does when he finds money. Mr. Krabs decides to take Gary to look for spare change all around town to feed his obsession for money. When SpongeBob asks what Mr. Krabs is doing with Gary, he just gives SpongeBob an impossible task (like painting the Krusty Krab with a toothbrush, or rearranging all the wall rivets from largest to smallest).

Mr. Krabs collects money from people at the Krusty Krab, Goo Lagoon, and the Laundromat. He then finds an arcade and goes inside. Mr. Krabs decides to disguise himself and Gary as a pregnant woman. Mr. Krabs tries to take everyone's money, but Gary is so worn out that he can't attract money anymore, as doing so causes him pain. Meanwhile, SpongeBob is finished with his tasks, so he looks for Mr. Krabs, but the guy Mr. Krabs took money from tells SpongeBob that Mr. Krabs and "his snail" have been stealing money. SpongeBob finds Mr. Krabs and is mad at him for putting Gary through all that pain just for money. They begin to argue, but they get distracted as Gary involuntarily starts collecting all of the money in the arcade (even from inside the game machines themselves!) The huge amount of money forms a massive wave of coins, which begin sliding towards all the Bikini Bottomites in an avalanche sort of fashion.

Everyone tries to exit the arcade to avoid being swept away, except for Mr. Krabs, who runs toward the large wave of coins in a fit of money madness and gets literally crushed by them. Mr. Krabs ends up in the hospital. After discussing what happened to Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob asks what caused Gary to begin attracting money. The doctor discovers that he had swallowed SpongeBob's Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy fridge magnet, which had quite a strong magnetic pull. When the doctor points out the bill to Mr. Krabs, he responds that he doesn't have enough money to make his payment. The doctor corrects him by mentioning that all the change he collected with Gary would cover it, prompting Mr. Krabs to yell "Nooooooooooo!" in defeat as the episode ends.

Jjs: Mediocre episode. It wasn't enough to make my bottom 25, but it's not really funny and I can see why people would hate it due to Gary's treatment. The only thing that I find really redeeming about this episode is how SpongeBob stood up to Mr. Krabs, but that's about it, and even then he had to act oblivious for more than half the episode. I will say this though, I am surprised how low this episode ranked this time around compared to 2013 and 2015. Maybe the dislike for this one is dying off a bit as well in favor of two other more hated Gary episodes? I dunno, but oh well.

Fred: This episode made it near the middleish point of my Top 25. Softened up a bit on the episode too much to put it any higher, but Mr. Krabs' character in this episode ticks me off to a point where I have to place it this low.

43. Sun Bleached

9P4VnHl.jpg?1

50 points. 4 out of 23 lists. (Highest Ranking: 2 #7's - @Steel Sponge & @crushingmayhem )

SpongeBob and Patrick are playing at the beach, where all the other beachgoers are tanning. Craig Mammalton, the tannest man on TV, then shows up and announces he is having the hottest party of the summer. Everyone is invited except for SpongeBob and Patrick, who are not tan. Craig says that they cannot come if they do not get to the tan minimum and mocks them for having smooth skin. Patrick converts his house into a tanning machine, able to give them the minimum tan in just 15 seconds. Patrick goes first and gets a perfect tan. But during SpongeBob's turn, Patrick forgets to watch over SpongeBob and leaves him in for 2 hours while he goes off with a group of girls. SpongeBob ends up with a white "Sun Bleached" tan that makes him look ugly. SpongeBob suggests asking Squidward for help, who ridicules him. SpongeBob feels sad because he will not be able to go to the party, but Patrick offers to help him anyway he can.

Patrick first gives him a "makeover" by covering him in mud, placing kelp jerky over his teeth, and putting hair on SpongeBob's head that was ripped from his own armpits. While walking through town, a woman mistakes SpongeBob for a monster and attacks him to protect her baby. While having an ice cream break, Patrick gets an idea while eating his caramel sundae.

He covers SpongeBob in the caramel giving him a "tan." They are let into the party, where portable tanning lamps shine on the dancing partygoers, causing SpongeBob's caramel to harden and crack, revealing his bleached skin. The partygoers start to complain and make fun of him until Craig reveals sun bleached is the ultimate tan and calls SpongeBob a hero, thus making the partygoers praise SpongeBob. The tanning lamps are cranked to maximum "Sun Bleach" level and everyone is dried up to dust. SpongeBob asks Patrick if too much sun is bad for them, to which he replies, "Whatever. I just go with the flow."

Jjs: Yeah, so, this episode's inclusion probably baffles some people. I never really see anyone talk about this episode, so seeing it on one list alone surprised me. Steel and Crushing having it so high on their lists is what helped get it on here. In all honesty, this is probably the last Season 6 episode I'd ever put on my least favorite episode list, since it always flies under my radar. I don't find anything really offensively bad about it, at worst it's just a really mediocre and forgettable episode, at least to me. With that being said, I've invited Steely Dan to give his analysis on it, as I'm sure you all must be wondering on his point of view.

Steel: Alright, this episode made the list this time around. I'm more than willing to express why this episode has become one of my most hated. You guys know how I am with downer endings, so that's no surprise. However, the biggest problem I have with "Sun Bleached" is that it's just really cruel. It's also pretty judgmental. I mean, Craig Mammalton and the beach-goers being so self-righteous about having the "proper tan" has a purpose to the plot, but the message from that tells me "you're part of a clique if you get a good tan and you should join that clique," and that really annoys me. And it only gets on my bad side when there's a scene, during the party, where Craig throws a child named Tyler into a pile of rejected guests, with completely pale skin, for not having the complete, proper tan. For the ending itself, there's no denying that too much sun is a bad thing, but the twist with 'sun bleached' being the "ultimate tan" felt like a total cop-out. So in that sense, the message then tells me, "Too much sun is bad, but you still need a good tan if you want to be cool," and it still rubs me the wrong way. At the very least though, the soda commercial gag saved it from being any lower. If you guys like this episode, I'm perfectly fine with that. I also can't forget to mention the plot point where Spongebob gets dried up from the tanning bed. I can sum it up with one screencap:

Xglhtg5.jpg?1

This is the writers' excuse for how SpongeBob ended up getting sun bleached. To me, that is just one of the most unfunny and cheapest ways to bring the plot forward (he does hitch a ride with some ladies afterwards, but still....).

Gone: Meh, I could understand the hatred yet it never bothered me as it sorta makes sense, just accidentally pushed too hard.

Inspongeiac I see totally undeserving to be here.

Cent of Money I'm surprised isn't higher actually, never "hated" it, but it did bother me a lot.

Sunbleached....do I really have to say I'm surprised at this rate? I can see Steel's reasons (and yeah...the soda commercial IS the high point really) although I wouldn't expect two people to have it within the top 10, would like to hear crush if he hates it in a different way because I might have overlooked this one.

Gone - You all know how I feel.

Inspongiac - This is rather a guilty pleasure of mine. It's a bad episode, I agree with Hal in there but I really enjoyed the nightmare sequences and Patrick's part tbh.

The Cent of Money - This is reverse-Gone for me. I really like the ending but I don't like rest of the episode. The ending was the saving grace for me to not to put it on the list.

Sun Bleached - Yeah, this one is really bad. I think Steel explained well.

To be completely honest, the ending of this episode's grown on me quite a lot over time. While it does feel like a cop-out to what's otherwise one of the best episodes period, and was arguably more cruel than any other moment of the show, I actually find some heart in SpongeBob to regaining a good feeling about himself from having a "whole day dedicated to him." I've already talked about InSPONGEiac and The Cent of Money on past lists and completely agree with Steel regarding Sun Bleached, so I don't feel I need to add much.

Ouch.  Gone on this countdown at all hurts.  It's one of the best episodes of Season 6.  Hell, it might be my favorite episode of that season period.  It's not about being cruel and sadistic towards SpongeBob.  It's about watching him dive into absolute insanity and it's actually quite the character study to see how heavily reliant he is on those around him.  I have always loved watching episodes where someone is the last man on earth and how they would react in that scenario.  This one was no different and I actually really liked seeing SpongeBob dive into madness.

As for the ending?  Is it a copout?  Yeah kinda because the rest of the episode is THAT MUCH better than the ending. But the fact that SpongeBob was able to find some sort of joy of having a day dedicated to him, as completely insane as it is that he would think happy about it, he expressed positive emotion.  If you want to talk about them being needlessly cruel to SpongeBob, then how about what happens to Patrick?  You can't have your cake and eat it too because I feel like it was justly served karma.  It's a stupid ending to a fantastic episode that I'm disappointed is on this list because of the last two minutes.

Blame me, I'm resposible for this, the ending was just cold man, even if he expressed positive emotion in it :funny: But yeah rest of the episode was good enough.

Honestly I liked Gone, sure the ending was mean-spirited and pretty cruel, but it's a great episode.  I can't believe though that such an ending could give the episode such a terrible reputation. :S

The Cent of Money was garbage, and if not, your regular terrible Season 7 episode.

Sun Bleached, meh.

Gone - Could've been a better episode especially since SB was alone the entire time but it felt like bad for Spongebob himself since it was basically about driving SB insane.

Inspongiac - Just one of those episodes that isn't what you expect.

The Cent of Money - Didn't like it that much, it had a very predictable setting since we all know how Mr. Krabs is.

Sun Bleached - It just feels plain weird and doesn't seem to add much to the comedy factor that the show is known for. Imo, its one of those forgettable episodes that makes you wonder why they came up with such story.

Rodeo Daze - I used to like this episode before I watched it again and saw everything that was wrong with it. I know mentioning MoBros' Top 20 Worst Spongebob Episodes List is taboo, but he was right on the money with this one. Nothing happens.

The Gift of Gum - Never liked this one. It's always just annoyed me. Pointless, juvenile mediocrity, that's what it is.

Funny Pants - Another episode I only liked my first time watching it. I grew completely impartial to it soon after that.

InSPONGEiac - Never watched it.

Gone - A lot of what Clappy said, I agree with. One of the better episodes of Season 6, the only thing I hate about it is that incredibly lame ending.

The Cent of Money - Just a stupid "Mr. Krabs is greedy" episode. Cliche criticism, I know and I'm sure it's been said before at least once, but it's just a substandard episode I'm surprised I used to enjoy.

Sun Bleached - Although Steel's reasons for hating this one, I understand, his reasons for having this episode as one of his most hated...I don't. Because all of this episode's problems have been done worse. Anyways, to me, this episode is very average/eh/meh/whatever, Season 6 being Season 6, whatever.

Gone - The ending is awful, but the rest is not bad. I wouldn't put it on the list

InSPONGEiac - Another episode with a terrible ending. Is it enough to put it on my list? Well, no, and I hope I'll explain why soon.

The Cent of Money - Some people save this episode because of the ending, but I wouldn't. It's still really bad and boring. It didn't make my list, but it's actually the first episode that could've made it so far.

Sun Bleached - Huh, I have nothing to say about this one, actually.

Gone - The ending is probably my least favorite moment in the series, but I really loved the rest of the episode, which is why I didn't add it on my list.

InSPONGEiac - It's okay I guess? Nothing about it really offended me. It had some decently funny parts, the ending was stupid but eh.

The Cent of Money - This one was the first so far to be on my list. It's not fun watching Gary just suffer and Mr. Krabs be totally ignorant to it. Sure, the ending helped but it doesn't save it from being so terrible and boring.

Sun Bleached - It's meh, not bad enough to hate but nothing that great for me to like it. It's watchable though.

Gone - this made on my list, i could understand a lot of you liked mostly of SB imitate Ms Puff, Mr Krabs, Sandy etc but the ending really ruins it me as WhoBob said it the best.

inSPONGEinc - I find that episode boring, and it's just flat out as it is.

The Cent of Money - This episode was alright, but SB stood up against Mr Krabs abusing Gary as a magnet. Otherwise, it was meh.

Sun Blend - I can see Steel's reason on his list, to me i find it was unfunny, boring and pointless.

48. I found this episode to be too forgettable to put on my list.

47/46. Gift of Gum is am episode I have no feelings towards. Same goes for Funny Pants too. A lot of the bad episodes in Season 4 tend to be more forgettable.

45/44. Okay, obviously like everyone else, I liked Gone despite its downer ending. It was a good parody of The Twilight Zone. InSPONGEiac was pretty terrible and Mr. Krabs scaring SpongeBob into insomnia didn't help either. The Cent of Money still does not sit right with me.

43. It's an episode that I neither hate nor like.

Since I'm still waiting on someone for 40, that won't be up tonight, sorry guys. And 42 is yet another tie. Like I said, very diverse list so far. There are 9 ties in total on this list, and we've hit 3 of them so far. Also, a bit of a notice regarding the commentaries: Due to realizing how spacey things might get, 40 - 31 will only still have one commentator each (as opposed to me going to increase it by one once we hit 40), in following Clappy's format last year. However, I will still up it to two commentators when we reach 30, I promise. There's still tons of spots open, and it's first come, first serve, so the sooner you reserve an episode, the better. With that being said, if there's an episode you desperately want to comment on very badly, but someone took it in this current phase of the list, I might make a special exception and have a bonus commentator if it was high on your list. After More pointed it out to me, I realized increasing the commentator count this early will make us have a ridiculous amount of commentators by the bottom 10, and while I like diversity, I think that might have been overkill for people (especially for the wait).

42 (1) / 41. The Card

tf0QavY.png?1

53 points. 4 out of 23 lists. (Highest Ranking: #10 - @MrTortellini00 )

SpongeBob is first seen getting money from Quincy, the bank teller who works at the bank SpongeBob goes to. He gives SpongeBob his money, but SpongeBob is very picky on what money to give Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. Quincy and the customers are annoyed by this after a while, and, soon, Quincy kicks him out of the bank. SpongeBob is later shown at a card store. He is there to buy Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy cards. He opens a pack and finds four cards that he thinks are valuable, but the store clerk tells him they are worthless and that there is one valuable card called the number-54 card. There are only five of them in existence.

SpongeBob frantically attempts to buy as many packs as possible to find the card but is unsuccessful. With only one pack left in the store, SpongeBob reveals that he has no more money. Patrick, who was originally going to buy a counting book, gives up on counting because he felt it was too hard and decides to buy what Spongebob is having, so the clerk gives him the last card that, coincidentally, ends up containing card number 54. Patrick asks SpongeBob if it's a good card, SpongeBob is shocked at it, and tells him it's the best card in existence. Patrick starts rubbing his teeth with the card stating how it certainly does the job right. SpongeBob yells at him for doing the act and Patrick says he's just practicing good hygiene. SpongeBob goes into a rant about how valuable the card is, but Patrick isn't paying attention, and SpongeBob's lecture is just going through one ear and out the other with him. SpongeBob finishes asking if Patrick understands, Patrick ignorantly says yes, walks away, and starts picking his teeth with it some more.

SpongeBob follows Patrick home, trying to protect the card from Patrick's carelessness. (Nearly falling to his death in a fire pit from a construction beam, mud from the bus hitting a mud puddle, and walking into Goo Lagoon) When they get home, Patrick grabs his key to his house and SpongeBob freaks out and asks where the card is. He freaks out more when he asks if Patrick put it in his pocket, then starts crying in fear it would get bent up. Patrick tells SpongeBob to calm down because he doesn't even believe in pockets. He just keeps everything he may need in his backflaps. He pulls the card out of his back pocket, and it is seen with stink coming out of it. Patrick says to SpongeBob he could keep the card because he seems so fond of it after all, and SpongeBob is seen crying in the corner. SpongeBob becomes happy, because Patrick would give up his most valuable possession, and Patrick, of course, says he could have the card, and SpongeBob says he's the best friend ever and hugs him. Patrick asks if he could have the card for just one day or at least the rest of the evening. SpongeBob says sure doubtfully. He uses the card to unlock his house (after his landlord changed the lock again), which makes it bend: the card has its top cleaned off from Patrick cleaning the grill with it. And it caught on fire from Patrick rubbing a coral on it to make it catch on fire so he can light the grill. Patrick spits on it so he can burn the fire out.

After Patrick finishes the burgers, he gives SpongeBob one, he takes it, and he sees the card is attached to the card by melted cheese that was all over the sandwich, which destroys its talking feature. He then wipes his face with it. The day comes to an end, so Patrick keeps his promise and gives the card to SpongeBob. SpongeBob begins crying, and when Patrick asks what is wrong, he says that card was a very rare one, and he just destroyed it. Patrick says he'll get it some day, but SpongeBob explains that he bought the last pack. Meaning that there were no more packs left in all of Bikini Bottom until the new shipment comes (judging by his crying, the shipment must take a long time). Patrick then reveals that he has several other copies of card 54 that were also in the pack he bought and gives the four other cards to SpongeBob, who is happy. But then, he has to use one of them because he locked himself out of his house again.

Jjs: Well...this is awkward. I honestly flat out forgot this episode existed up until I saw it make this countdown. And that's probably the worst thing I can say about it. It's stupid and pointless, but I honestly always forget this episode exists because of how stupid and pointless it is. Yeah, sorry for the lackluster commentary here, but I really just don't have anything else to say on this episode. Apparently my memory doesn't want me to remember this episode, and I can see why. I totally get why it made the list though (Patrick is pretty unlikable, the plot is pretty stupid, etc.), but the biggest crime it commits to me is just being so darn forgettable.

Cha: I guess this one isn't as bad for me as it use to be. Sometimes Patrick selfishness is just there in an episode and it can be kinda tiresome. I don't hate it or anything but it's not the go-to episode I'd want to see. I did like Patrick's quote about him mixing up his stupidity though.

53 points. 4 out of 23 lists. (Highest Ranking: #4 - @Trophy )

The episode begins with Squidward waking up at 5:00 AM to watch Fab and Fancy on the channel known as Bikini Bottom Public Access. But, to his surprise, the show has been cancelled, and is replaced with Zeus the Guitar Lord. Squidward then finds out that they actually give TV shows to anyone. He then calls the network and gets his own TV show. He is next seen at the Krusty Krab waiting happily to leave and get started on his show. SpongeBob overhears him talking and asks why he is so jittery. But Squidward plugs up his ears with Krabby Patties and leaves before SpongeBob can ask.

Squidward is at his house preparing for Squidward Chat. But SpongeBob then finds out and rushes to Squidward's house to tell him. He then brings Patrick in and they start messing up the show. Squidward tells them to leave, but they refuse to do so. Squidward then gives both of them jobs for the show. Patrick becomes the cameraman and SpongeBob controls the microphone, but they make the show even worse. Mr. Krabs finds out and uses the show as a free advertisement to promote his restaurant, the Krusty Krab. Sandy watches the show and then starts line-dancing on-air. Then Pearl watches the show and decides to show her cheerleading on-air. Plankton watches the show and thinks he could cause more damage with his ray gun. Once he appears, he starts firing his ray gun, which ruins the entire set.

Squidward tells them all to leave and asks them if this is some sort of housewarming. Larry overhears it and everybody comes into his house. The producer comes in and tells Squidward that the show is going great, but kicks a few people out, including Squidward. The show is then renamed Squidward's House Party, which does not include Squidward. Instead, it has Zeus the Guitar Lord hosting. It also has Patrick on the drums, Sandy and Pearl as back-up dancers, SpongeBob on electric keyboard, Mr. Krabs as advertisement, and Plankton as the special effects master. And the worst part is, Squidward just cannot seem to sleep because of all the noise.

Jjs: I'm a little surprised this made it on the countdown, and at the same time, not really surprised. I know some people really hate this one, some like it, while others like me just find it mediocre. Really, I'm just surprised it took it until this year to get it on the list. I don't outright hate this one, but I never really liked it like some people did back in the old days. Seriously, back in 2009 on Tv.com, there were people saying this was episode was "pre-movie quality", and yeah...no. I never really found it funny, and all the obnoxious praise it had on Tv.com made me resent it for a bit. Now, flash forward to today, and I find it just mediocre. The idea wasn't too bad, but all the jokes are really hit or miss (mostly miss), and the ending is pretty lame. Just another mediocre entry in a season with a ton of problems as it is. That being said, I'm sure you all want to hear from Trophy on why he dislikes this so much.

Trophy: Oh boy, birthday commentary huh, yeah....this is a pain. 4TH? WHAT, AM I ON BIRTHDAY DRUGS? Maybe I am a bit too high here, but this is at least top 10. Well where to start besides the fact that SQUIDWARD'S FACE IN THE PICTURE DESCRIBES EVERYTHING PERFECTLY. Zeus the Guitar Lord....he has a TV show which he does nothing....and it has Fab and Fancy cancelled. PLOT DEVICE PLOT DEVICE PLOT DEVICE. Like Zeus does nothing but talk about what, how he wants a guitar? Nothing against Zeus for all those lovers, but he's just filler. So when Squidward gets his show....nothing? IDEK. Of course SB finds out through Gary channel surfing, and then just waltzes in through the lack of security or a crew, because TV shows can be ran by one person just fine! :D

Then Patrick finds out, and after a really cringey "WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME ABOUT BEING ON TV" "gag" *which something later almost made me gag* Patrick and SB....join as THE CREW TO THE SHOW, INSTEAD OF HIRED PROFESSIONALS! CONVENIENCE ALERT, MY GOD! Then, everyone else just HAPPENS to find Squidward, destroy the studio for no reason at all, turn it into a housewarming (because Larry thinks so....maybe this is why the Squid Plus One thing didn't work out so well after all) and SQUIDWARD gets kicked out of his show...AND HIS HOUSE FOR NO REASON AT ALL BESIDES EVEN THOUGH EVERYBODY'S ON SET, IT SOMEHOW GETS RATINGS....DIDN'T THEY FIND OUT ABOUT THIS FROM LARRY, NOT ON THE TVS, THE VIEWS SHOULDN'T BE HIGH AT ALL! Well Squid is LET BACK INTO his house..... but his show is combined with Zeus the Guitar Lord who finally gets a guitar....for Squidward's house party, and Squidward isn't able to sleep because he can't find anywhere else???? Like he can't go to Mr K's house or something? Oh boy....this has so many flaws to it, that I can't contain it all here. I hope my views are understandable, and if need be ASK ME TO GO FURTHER! I am willing, I had an alternate review which was more in depth but I forgot to save it, I'll gladly say my thoughts on anything you want my thoughts on, if you aren't convinced on how I put this monstrosity within the top 5.

Oh, I'll also be back for a squid abuse ep later, one is my 3rd which I won't be commentating on if it appears, and the other is my 6th which may or may not as well, as you can tell, I really sympathize with Squidward in these episodes centered around him, as I don't find anything funny about them whatsoever, so yeah that's part of why it's so high as well. :P

Good thing I wasn't around back then, I'll say that knowing SBC's past and tendency for fights I woulda been the new Rise and Shine except this time in reverse being the one AGAINST the episode, being a dumb 7 year old if I even grew to hate it at that point I wouldn't be able to properly argue in the first place. :P

The Card felt like an old Mr. Magoo cartoon, and that's bad because Mr. Magoo's kinda lame. I don't think it's really that bad, but it's not good, and it's certainly not worth a second viewing. Way too one dimensional for a 21st century cartoon.

Tentacle Vision is like watching a train falling off a cliff. It just fizzled out from a barely cohesive story to the most random shit. The episode would've been annoying but coherent had it kept it's early screenplay with just the 3 MC's.

To be honest, "The Card" might be one of the closest episodes to capturing the style of pre-movie for the time. That's not saying much (it was on my list at #14), it's got a simple premise, does really well to parody the warped view of trading card where only specific cards actually matter, and shows the roles of the dedicated control freak and the random guy really well, while still offering a good cartoonish exaggeration of the card's use. Problem? Why the hell is Patrick doing this so mindlessly? Why is he ignoring the fact that the card means so much to his best friend, and doing literally everything in his power to destroy the thing? Why is he doing it intentionally? That is not acceptable, it's maddening. As for Tentacle-Vision... used to dislike it more but now I find it too typical of an episode to bring up on it's own. I agree with its placement.

The Card - I find this episode to be forgettable. Sure, SB just wanted to gets his card back, but Patrick acts jerkish in here, and it's just one of those "Patrick is a jerk" episode. so i don't think it's worst episode but rather boring episode to watch.

Tentacle-Vision - this episode was just an another episode that felt SB & Patrick ruins Squidward's spotlight, and the plot was bad, the gags was terrible and you pretty much get what I mean so not much to say as Trophy has spot on that his commentary.
