  2. I am glad my years of keeping Gullible Pants around as a throwaway episode finally paid off in a satisfying enough boost for it
  3. Before heading to the bottom 10, let's take a break and see the (dis)honorable mentions, which are the episodes that barely missed the list. I won't provide commentary since this is not technically part of the official list, but I'll still mention how many points they got, how many people picked them and the highest ranking, as usual! 37. This one's gonna fly! I can feel it! The Sponge Who Could Fly - 44 points 3 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #6, @Steel Sponge) (-1) Season: 3 Writers: Paul Tibbitt, Kent Osborne, Merriwether Williams Plot: SpongeBob wishes he could fly with the jellyfish. 36. You're serving Krabby Patties with your hands? Do you know how filthy your hands are? Gullible Pants - 44 points 3 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #4, @Steel Sponge) (+19) Season: 6 Writers: Luke Brookshier, Nate Cash, Derek Iversen Plot: SpongeBob is left in charge of the Krusty Krab for a few minutes, and Squidward takes advantage of his gullibility. 35. Run, Mr. Krabs! Patrick is digging for gold! The Battle of Bikini Bottom - 45 points 2 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #2, @WinterArcanine) (+13) Season: 5 Writers: Luke Brookshier, Nate Cash, Eric Shaw Plot: SpongeBob and Patrick battle over cleanliness. 34. For a second there, I thought I was gonna have to pay you workman's "compersation." The Splinter - 45 points 3 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #9, @Bob Carotte @dmandagiraffe) (-2) Season: 6 Writers: Nate Cash, Sean Charmatz, Steven Banks Plot: SpongeBob gets a splinter at work. 33. Why is he counting? I guess I'll just go home, maybe or later he'll want to play a game, or something. Hide and Then What Happens? - 50 points 3 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #8, @WhoBibbles @SquiddyFace) (+9) Season: 7 Writers: Aaron Springer, Dani Michaeli Plot: SpongeBob and Patrick's game of hide and seek goes downhill after SpongeBob can't find Patrick anywhere. 32. YOUUUU!!! You ruined my free toy!!!!!! Waiting - 51 points 3 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #4, @Clappy) (-1) Season: 5 Writers: Nate Cash, Tuck Tucker, Steven Banks Plot: SpongeBob waits for a toy to arrive in the mail. 31. Ooh. I know that sound. It's the sound of me money being flushed down the toilet! Face Freeze - 55 points 3 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #3, @WinterArcanine) (-4) Season: 8 Writers: Casey Alexander, Zeus Cervas, Doug Lawrence Plot: SpongeBob and Patrick's faces freeze after making too many silly faces.
  4. Today
  5. Big Sister Sam was in my bottom 10. The fact that it's one of the worst in season 7 says a lot. Sister Sam might be the single worst character ever introduced in the series; she's just an ugly brute who destroys things, easily gets angry, and almost makes Patrick look smart. There's nothing interesting about her at all, nor anything likable. Just a bland, unfunny, and hateable character who's most unique character element is saying "blecorate". All she does in the episode is constantly steal and destroy things, completely destroy Squidward and Spongebob's house, and then finally fuck off when she hurts Patrick. Everytime Squidward or Spongebob complain about what Sam is doing, Patrick defends her, even though what she's doing is blatantly bad. This episode is just annoying, boring, and extremely unfunny.
  6. Yesterday
  7. 12. You mean the juvenile correction facility? But that place is for losers, man. The Clash of Triton - 158 points 9 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #4, @WhoBibbles @Less_SpongeBob ) (+2) Season: 6 Writers: Casey Alexander, Zeus Cervas, Aaron Springer, Steven Banks, Paul Tibbitt Plot: It's King Neptune's birthday, and SpongeBob wants to make sure his friends and family are there, including his son, Triton, but Neptune and Triton don't get along. Middle post-sequel doesn't have good specials overall but Clash of Triton is one of the most nothing specials you can even find in the show. This is probably the only SpongeBob episode I actually fell asleep to. When I watched this episode for the first time I thought it was going to be a bit more focused on Neptune's birthday but nope we got scenes of him crying for his son Triton after putting him in a cage unfairly for ages while the rest of the episode is SpongeBob looking for Triton and of course theses scenes are painfully boring as well. I don't have much to say honestly because I haven't seen this episode in ages, but it's pretty clear that it's such a snooze fest. 11. Hey, ya just mind your own business and let us blecorate in peace! Big Sister Sam - 160 points 8 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #2, @El Jacko) (+2) Season: 7 Writers: Casey Alexander, Zeus Cervas, Richard Pursel Plot: Patrick's sister Sam comes to visit him. This is yet another episode I was debating whether I should have added it to my list or not (I didn't). Apart from being boring like 90% of season 7, Sam is such an unlikeable character who is even dumber than Patrick and acts more like a wild animal. This episode is basically Sam destroying things because she is so into it and annoying Squidward and SpongeBob, even by destroying their houses, hahahaha laugh she destroyed things!!!!The worst part is that Patrick DEFENDS Sam's actions, by telling them they are rude for calling out Sam, even though everything she does has bad intentions. I also don't understand the ending...why does she have two faces? Is there something I missed? Even if it's just Sam having two moods this is such a poor way to portray it.
  8. Honestly one of the best shows I’ve ever watched. The whole cast is on fire but especially Ayo Edebiri, Jeremy Allen White, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
  9. A good and chaotic show that will make you very hungry.
  10. I was mad and frustrated but doing a little better now. I got a tornado (or really strong storm - it kinda doesn’t matter tbh) that caused a 25 hour power outage that ruined all our refrigerated and frozen food, and I had to throw everything out and clean a bunch of melting stuff from the fridge and freezer defrosting. I didn’t have any consistent internet until about an hour and a half ago. The whole day was ruined dealing with the aftermath of the tornado. I hope tomorrow (technically today but whatever) is better.
  11. SpongeBob and friend! Front and center! Why, I oughta make the two of you paint the Krusty Krab for using such language!

  12. Last week
  13. One Coarse Meal is honestly an ok episode IMO. I always felt like people felt a moral need to hate it after Mr Enter reviewed it because of the suicide scene and how that was supposedly fucked up, but like....it really isn't that big of a deal? There's nothing morally wrong about putting a suicide attempt in a fictional show. I wouldn't say its a great scene or anything like that, but it's fine. Just a scene I don't really care about. Beyond that, I feel the episode is a mixed bag. Mr Krabs tormenting Plankton like this for two weeks when he isn't even trying to steal the formula is a bit much, even for Krabs. It was also kinda questionable for Spongebob that he says he has good nature, only to backstab Plankton in the end, though iirc Mr Krabs threatened Spongebob for telling Mr Krabs to stop? ngl I don't remember for certain. On the flip side however, it had a pretty fun first 2-3 minutes or so, and I think the idea of Plankton being terrified of whales, even Pearl, is interesting. I also think the nightmare scene was really cool. Overall it's just an ok episode, doesn't really deserve to be here IMO. Someone's in the Kitchen With Sandy, however, is a bad episode that deserves to be here. It only missed my list by a couple places. This episode's writing is just horrible. It literally makes no sense. First of all, how in the world does anyone (and in fact, everyone) fall for Plankton's plan? People see "Sandy" with no underwater suit or even air helmet, and a completely empty face, and a completely different voice, and think it's actually her??? It's ridiculous. And then why does Sandy have to leave the treedome "naked"? Plankton only took her fur, not her underwater suit. There's no reason she couldn't wear that. In fact, she NEVER does that anyway, so why would she even consider just leaving without it? If she wore it, only her face and tail would be visibly furless, I doubt the bikini bottomites would care about that. Speaking of that.....why do the bikini bottomites care??? She isn't even naked. She's still wearing a skirt and bra. So she's not even naked, just furless. And it's not like the bikini bottomites are fully clothed either. In fact, a lot of them are naked themselves. So why do they even care? It makes no sense. This whole episode just makes zero sense. I don't know what they were thinking when they made this episode lol. The episodes on my list are just less enjoyable to watch, which is why it missed, but this episode was not far behind. I've seen people on discord say that House Sittin for Sandy almost feels like an AI generated episode of Spongebob, and honestly.....I can't say I disagree. This is one of the blandest and most boring episodes of the show. The fact they didn't even remember to put Spongebob's helmet on and then made a joke about it partway throughout the episode says a lot about how much of a budget this season had. They couldn't afford to go back and add the helmet in. Animation is reused multiple times as well. The one thing I DO like about this episode however, is the ending. The fact that Sandy knew Spongebob would destroy everything, and she just wanted to use her new fixing gun thing, is very funny. It also looks like Sandy is so angry at Spongebob that she's about to shoot him, which is also really funny. Spongebob accidentally destroying everything again, and then Sandy's fixing gun also getting broken, was also very funny. But outside of the ending, this episode is really bad. Are You Happy Now is a weird episode. Why did they think putting in such blatant suicide jokes were a good idea? With other suicide jokes throughout the series, it felt less serious, or wasn't with a character who's depressed. But in this episode, Squidward is outright depressed, and this is done in a serious way and not a comedic way, so it's just strange. Admittedly, I never really cared about the suicide jokes, but I don't blame people for hating the episode because of them. Outside of that, this episode is boring, and has a terrible ending that makes zero sense. Why would Squidward suddenly say he doesn't want a happiest memory after being depressed about it for weeks? It makes no sense. And how crazy he goes over his enjoyment of destroying the paper Spongebobs was a bit jarring. And then Spongebob's line "He's so handsome" is also really weird. Why does he find this handsome? What???? This episode wasn't on my list, but it's still pretty bad.
  14. 14. Now that I haven't suffocated, it's high time I got back to this list of house-sitting duties. House Sittin for Sandy - 91 points 5 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #7, @SquiddyFace @OWM @BoJack Horseman) (+9) Season: 8 Writers: Aaron Springer, Sean Charmatz, Derek Iversen Plot: SpongeBob's house-sitting stint at Sandy's goes perfectly smoothly until Patrick arrives for a visit. Season 8 is full of sleep medication and House Sittin for Sandy is one of its strongest pills. I'm not surprised it went up the rankings (even if it missed my list by a hair) because this is such a nothing episode where absolutely nothing happens until I don't know...6th minute or something. What's funny is that they made a joke out of something the storyboard artists forgot to do...draw SpongeBob's water helmet as SpongeBob completely forgot about it until Patrick pointed that out, he even asked "what's that funny thing on your head?" well what do you think??? Patrick didn't help at all and made this borefest worse than it was. Also, the fact that Sandy wanted them to destroy her treedome so that she tests her new invention is such a stupid reason. She could have destroyed something herself and fix it with that thing. This episode also has a dumb "here we go again" ending with the robot breaking Sandy's invention and not being able to fix her treedome anymore, and all of this could have been avoided if she didn't manipulate SpongeBob and Patrick into house-sitting. 13. Sigh... he's so handsome! Are You Happy Now? - 140 points 7 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #3, @Shark Tale @Hotel Mario) (-4) Season: 8 Writers: Luke Brookshier, Marc Ceccarelli, Dani Michaeli Plot: SpongeBob tries to help Squidward find his happiest memory. And here is the big point gap I was talking about...our #13 ahead of #14 by a whooping 49 points! I noticed this episode also left SBC's bottom 10 and I think so did mine but it's still one of the lowest points of this show and right now I'm even thinking "should I have put it #14 on my list after all?". I even think it was a nice concept as it's cool to have SpongeBob find a happy memory for Squidward but after he failed to do so, the episode turned into such a dark tone where Squidward felt very depressed and miserable. The suicide jokes are executed in the worst way possible that it doesn't look like I'm watching SpongeBob...I don't feel like ranting too much about it in this review though. The ending is actually the part that pisses me off the most because SpongeBob, unaware of how Squidward is feeling, just kidnaps him in a box and brings him to the Krusty Krab, then surprises him with dozens of papier mâché SpongeBobs. Of course this makes Squidward lose his mind and begins attacking them, but SpongeBob finds this nice to look at??? Sigh, he's sooooo brainless...
  15. ...how's OCM still on this list?! eh w/e i didm't care for this episode, and it's still bad and lame
  16. Couple eps behind so I'll be brief this time: KBBB sux but I think it missed my list this time. Lacking in funny and in any merit of watching WhoBob WhatPants is also bad, probably the first episode in order I really don't like. Outside of a couple sight gags and maybe mildly funny lines there's nothing good to really come back to. Didn't make my list though. YM&M was an easy contender for my list. Such a bad episode. Sometimes criticisms of Patrick being insufferable are overblown, but not here. Hard pressed to find anything to enjoy about what amounts to two oversized toddlers fighting over a toy. Summer Job is so bad bro. Should have stuck this on my list. 11 minutes straight of pure dead air. There's another episode I hope makes the list that's even worse in this regard though. OCM is not that bad. Plankton being driven nearly to suicide was kind of wtf and Spongebob backstabbing him at the end was insidious but the opening scene was genuinely one of the best sequences in the entirety of season 7. I don't think this episode is much more than mid in the long run. Also Wacky Bucks is one of the few actually funny jokes this season pulled off. SitKwS easily made my list. Nothing funny about it, just pure tedium and poorly written background fish. Nothing good to write about this one.
  17. So, before announcing today's episodes I saw many comments about OCM potentially not making it to the list and since the list is half done I will reveal its fate since it's an episode that everyone seems to care about now. Since the hate is dying down it should be already out by now right? If it didn't make it which episode will take its place? Could it be a new one? What if I told you? ... 16. Hi, Plankton. What you doin' layin' in the middle of the road? One Coarse Meal - 85 points 4 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #2, @Dragonball Z) (+4) Season: 7 Writers: Casey Alexander, Zeus Cervas, Doug Lawrence Plot: Mr. Krabs discovers that Plankton has been concealing a secret fear of whales. Well you were all wrong! OCM made the list after all and it even jumped 4 places from the 2021 ranking!!! This is truly one of the biggest twists since even I didn't think it would happen either. And yes, this episode doesn't deserve to be in a bottom 30 list anymore but still I can't bring myself to defend it. It's just a boring episode where Mr. Krabs tries to scare Plankton with whales (even by disguising as his own daughter) as he discovered he's afraid of them, to the point of him wanting to kill himself. I still feel like it's a depressing episode by SpongeBob standards but I think there are many worse offenders. At least I can say the beginning was kinda cool but I don't think I can praise the rest, just because it's a boring episode with a miserable tone. 15. Ohhh still off by THAT much try again! Someone's in the Kitchen With Sandy - 88 points 6 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #6, @Coffee_lover) (-7) Season: 7 Writers: Casey Alexander, Zeus Cervas, Dani Michaeli Plot: Plankton disguises as Sandy in order to steal the Krabby Patty formula. Now SITKWS is an episode that I definitely would have included on my list if the OHHH TRY AGAIN scene didn't exist. I get why people would find it annoying but I personally can't help but laugh at it, I know my humor is broken. I like to think he did it on purpose to push Plankton to reveal himself as he suspected it was him, just like he did with the Strangler. Alright, now let's talk about the flaws. Season 7 had so many Imitation Krabs rip-offs but this is the worst one out there to begin with. So Plankton steals Sandy's fur and makes a poorly made disguise to trick SpongeBob into giving him the formula. SpongeBob then teaches "Sandy" to make a Krabby Patty. Ok that sounds nice but what makes this episode so bad is that they show the real Sandy without her fur walking around town searching for it and everyone laughing at her, even the cops. What's with season 6 and 7 being so mean-spirited? I wonder why she didn't think of wearing her suit if Plankton didn't steal it???
  18. bumping since this is now an sbc fad
  19. The funny (Plankton: "In a cosmic sort of way, Yes.") part about season 7 episodes such as "Yours, Mine, And Mine", is that even though season 7 is STILL the WORST season of "Spongebob Squarepants" yet, the odd part is how (at least for me) even though I KNOW I've watched every single episode segment that's aired (as of May 16, 2024) at least once, I don't really REMEMBER most of those episodes for being straight up bad, just forgetful (probably for the best, given season 7's quality!) That being said, "Yours, Mine, and Mine" probably would've made MY list had there been more choices available. And I'm honestly surprised "Summer Job" made this list. In my mind, it's really not BAD enough to qualify for this list. Certainly not like some OTHER choices that I personally made! Hopefully, we'll get to see what they are sooner or later. Enough said, true believers!
  20. I took off my list, now that I know who falls under the category of Emo Artists, and the fact that I personally haven't listened to enough of that kind of music to warrant making a list.
  21. I'm so glad Yours, Mine, and Mine not only made it on the list, but also had a huge rise. This episode has been way too low on the list for so long now, so I'm glad it's finally returned to the bottom 20. This episode is horribly annoying and childish. So much so that, even as a kid I still found it annoying and childish. Spongebob and Patrick being unwilling to share the toy is so annoying and frustrating, and its not like its funny either. And this is all that really happens in the episode, so it ends up being a boring episode thats extremely annoying and childish, which makes it very unfun to watch. Also, it's just so stupid that they don't just....y'know......make another toy???? So they can each have one??? They luckily did this in the ending, but how did this not occur to anyone before then. This ended up making my list in the bottom 10, I thought it wouldn't appear at this rate so I'm so glad that it did after all, and with a +20 jump too! Summer Job is also a bad episode that, though not on my list, is still bottom 25 and deserves to be here. This episode is a typical bad season 7 episode, with terrible writing, unfunny jokes, and a lot of boredom. This episode is just boring, and does a bad job at being a role reversal episode. The episode is very unfunny, I don't remember a single funny joke in it, and it's also just super boring. I also don't like how they hint at Mr Krabs and Mrs Puff's relationship, yet Mr Krabs treats her like this. That was bad characterization. Additionally, the writing is terrible. It makes literally no sense that Spongebob would have a job working as a boating teacher at the jail. He doesn't even have a drivers license, and causes chaos any time he tries to drive. He's the last person to ever be able to teach how to drive, so the twist also makes zero sense.
  22. 18. Sharing is the most wonderful feeling in the world, like dancing with a magical seahorse through an enchanted kelp garden Yours, Mine and Mine - 78 points 5 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #7, @RD Rockruff) (+20) Season: 7 Writers: Luke Brookshier, Nate Cash, Steven Banks Plot: SpongeBob and Patrick fight over a Krusty Krab licensed toy. Wow, this is the biggest jump in the rankings to date, from #38 in 2021 to #18 now!!! I have no idea why it was so low back then because I've always thought this episode was bottom tier. This is another example of how season 7 was so bad at writing the main characters including SpongeBob. I know SpongeBob and Patrick are childish adults but here they straight up act like 4-year old children that can't even share a simple toy. It's so boring as it's basically just them asking back and forth to share the toy as well as lazy chase and fight scenes to fill 11 minutes. Also, the ending is soooo dumb. Everyone talks about Patrick "borrowing" SpongeBob's wallet buy why didn't Mr. Krabs give them each the same toy at the beginning??? All of this mess could have been solved ages ago. You probably wonder..."so the episode wouldn't exist then", well exactly...it didn't need to exist! 17. Hey, it's kind of like I'm the teacher! Summer Job - 79 points 5 of 21 lists (Highest ranking #6, @CakeCup) (+4) Season: 7 Writers: Casey Alexander, Zeus Cervas, Derek Iversen Plot: After Mrs Puff accidentally wrecks the Krusty Krab's doors, she is forced to assist SpongeBob in the kitchen to pay off the damage. Ooooh boy...what can I say about this dreaded episode? This is easily one of the worst episodes I've ever seen in the show and you can't convince me otherwise. First of all we begin with SpongeBob annoying Mrs. Puff as he wants to give her some letter, which makes her crash into the Krusty Krab. She is then hired there to pay off the damages she caused and SpongeBob shows her the ropes. I've already said it earlier but I hate how Mrs. Puff acts mean to everyone, especially SpongeBob when it's not supposed to be this way. After many boring minutes of SpongeBob teaching Mrs. Puff many tasks (role reversal attempt failed), she finally snaps and runs away the Krusty Krab, finds again the letter and rips it into many pieces and guess what? The cops show up and arrest her for LITTERING because of course Mrs. Puff always has to go to jail in the end! Here comes the most stupid part, in jail she takes boating class and the teacher is...SpongeBob???????????? and that was all the letter was about?????? How can he be a boating teacher if he doesn't have his license yet?!? This episode makes ZERO sense, especially when SpongeBob was IN boating school at the beginning.
