Old Man Jenkins
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Lady Bird Both great movies, but I prefer the former more than the latter
Clappy
Game Night One of the best mainstream comedies we’ve gotten in like two or three years. I did not expect it to be this good.

Old Man Jenkins
Annihilation I usually have the attention span for movies like these, like I don't know if it could be because I'm still fighting a cold or if it was because I was watching with people who were sleeping through/shitting on it, but this was just too boring for my tastes. Felt the same coming out of this as I did with Arrival. Death Wish (2018) a shit storm with unfortunate timing, but at least it wasn't boring The Strangers: Prey at Night More like Stupid Decisions: The Movie. Aesthetics were nice tho. Dredd Almost forgot how awesome this movie was. One of the inspirations for S(lums)BU right here. Hurricane Heist and A Wrinkle In Time neither are anything to write home about. 4EverGreen
I saw "A Wrinkle in Time" in movie theaters. A pretty good movie, but for the amount of hype they gave for the appearance of Oprah Winfrey in the movie, you would THINK that she would actually have more SCENES within the movie; that's all I've got to say about that, without giving away any MAJOR spoilers! Joker
Tomb Raider - almost all the action scenes are very well done, but it gets bogged down by unnecessary origin story cliches and lack of emotional involvement from any character/actor that isn't Vikander (who's excellent btw). the lighting is garbage (just because you're in a tomb does not mean it needs to be pitch black) and took me out of the film. started zoning out during the pointless and meandering exposition scenes, and honestly was only half paying attention by the time they started raiding the tomb. 5/
4EverGreen
On TV, I saw the original 1984 movie of "Revenge of the Nerds" for the first time. It's pretty good, but they probably couldn't make a movie like THAT in this day and age, anymore!
Clappy
Tomb Raider I like Alicia Vikander just fine and I thought she did pretty good. Just the story itself was supremely subpar. At the very least, I can see this franchise continuing with Vikander if they get better people involved making the movie.

Joker
PACIFIC RIM UPRISING - better fights than the original (shifting from mostly nighttime fights to daytime fights was a wise decision, and robot vs. robot is considerably cooler than robot vs. kaiju), but you can fucking tell this is from a tv show director because it sure as hell feels like a tv show. the lighting and feel of the film is atrocious. i'd call Scott Eastwood wooden, but i doubt he'd even be able to portray wood convincingly. falls into the same poor characterization trap that the first one suffers from (which i rewatched recently and hoo boy does it not hold up). luckily Charlie Day gets to ham it up a bit and play the villain which is fun as hell. most of the stuff from the first, say, 60% of the film is boring and failed to captivate me, but it does manage to hold my attention for 30% of the film after that before i started zoning out again for the last 10%. 4/

Joker
READY PLAYER ONE legit had no reason to be as good as it was. but it is and for that I'm grateful. been a loooonnngg time since I saw a movie two days in a row because it was that much fun to watch. gonna make a mental note to not doubt Spielberg ever again. 9 or 9.5/10
