Don’t know how many of you saw this yesterday but I think it’s pretty freaking cool.  The first proof that black holes do exist, despite rumors of them being out there since the beginning of time.

Also the girl who discovered the first photo of this is my age so all the more hats off to her.  Makes me happy knowing that people my age are making such huge discoveries.

It’s surreal. I always thought we had solid picture proof of black holes existing in the universe, but it just so happens this is the first one we’ve seen that’s reality and isn’t a simulation? Wow. The more I think about it, the more at a loss for words I get.
