almy
I'm almost certain I'm the minority here, but I honestly thought Imitation Krabs, this episode's side episode, was better.

Less_SpongeBob
Well at least my favorite made the top ten Can you please stop wasting our time asking us and look at This Recap of Mine and actually look through the topic? Asking us isn't gonna do much help, especially since the last two are obvious choices.

Wumbo
Simmer down everyone. We're two episodes left, no need to police what people say on this thread. that's my job Also Fluttershy, you only have episodes up to 11 on your recap, so, point kinda moot, as helpful a resource as that is
Popular Post Wumbo
2. "That's his... eager face." Band Geeks, 289 points (15 of 26 lists. 1 #1 vote - spongebobviewer) Squidward gets a call from his former high school classmate, Squilliam Fancyson, who is very successful and has succeeded in everything in which Squidward has failed, such as music. Squilliam reveals to Squidward that he has become the leader of a band and that they are supposed to play at the Bubble Bowl; but he will be busy at that time and will not be able to attend so Squilliam asks Squidward to allow his band to substitute for his at the Bubble Bowl, believing that Squidward does not have one. However, Squidward insists that he has a band and accepts the offer. He assembles a large marching band composed of various Bikini Bottom residents. During their one week of training, the band performs consistently badly and fails to improve at all. Patrick and Sandy get into a fight when Patrick kicks Sandy and, as a result, Sandy sticks him up a trombone. On the second day, while practicing a march, two flag twirlers are killed when they spin the flags too fast, causing them to fly into the air and crash into a blimp. On day three, Plankton plays his harmonica, but becomes exhausted and collapses from running back and forth, since he is very tiny. On the last day of practice, Squidward says if everyone plays loud, they will be good. However, they play poorly, and Squidward changes the plan of playing loud to quiet. A fish becomes annoyed, saying "We won't sound so bad if some of us didn't play with big, meaty, claws!" Mr. Krabs is angered by him and attacks, causing everyone to get involved in a huge brawl, smashing the instruments and hurting each other, causing the band to break up. A grieving Squidward expresses his disappointment in all of them and goes home in distress over his failure. However, SpongeBob convinces the other band members to go through with the performance for Squidward's sake, and he takes command of their training. On the day of the concert, when Squilliam shows up in order to see Squidward fail, Squidward claims that his band died in a marching accident. However, Squidward's band shows up and he is forced to go through with the performance. They enter a large glass dome complete with human fans. Squidward turns his head away from the band before they begin, assuming that the performance will be a disaster, but the band is tremendously successful, playing a rock ballad titled "Sweet Victory". Squilliam enters a state of shock and faints, leaving Squidward to celebrate as he leaps into the air. OMLJ: Ha ha! Shocking this isn't the #1 episode of SpongeBob? I placed this episode at #4 on my list. Not the best episode in my book, but it's still pretty legendary. The Sweet Victory song at the end was really awesome. A lot of the gags were funny as heck. I think the main reason why people place episodes like this and Chocolate with Nuts at the #1 spot is because they're really memorable, but then again, a lot of pre-movie episodes are memorable. Omair: Honestly you know why lets not even bother Sir Rockman: I like this one, it made #22 on my list. But the thing is, it's overrated as heck. It's still good, just not as good as most of you would say (at least in my opinion). Sure, there are some funny moments, like "eager face" and "mayonnaise is not an instrument", and also that song at the end. But other than that, the episode's decent at best. The jokes and song I just mentioned are the reasons why it made my list. Feel free to shoot me now. Wumbo: It's honestly a little strange how high this episode is, and yet it seems as though there's not much to say about it. Well, I guess it's up to me. "Band Geeks" is a top 10 SpongeBob episode, and I will not hear otherwise. Few episodes are simply as iconic as this one. If you know SpongeBob, chances are you're aware of the "Sweet Victory" scene. It's been ingrained in every SpongeBob fan's mind ever since they viewed the episode. And that's really the best quality about this episode. It's memorable, and its scope is freakin' huge. Really think about how SpongeBob and the gang are playing in front of a live crowd of people. Has there been a more exciting, new moment before then for Bikini Bottom? I don't think so. This episode went big, and it paid off beautifully. The jokes? Fantastic, as they always are when you put the town together. The accumulation to the fight scene is just the funniest thing, and even before that there's a lot of quirky humour with the different townsfolk too. (Plankton's harmonica scene is just adorably sad, but I can't help but giggle.) Squidward finally wins here. That's probably a sticking point for so many fans of the episode, and some detractors might say it's the only thing people remember and that's why they liked it, but it's not simply "Squidward has something good happen to him". He earns that happy ending. You can see the heart, soul and effort Squidward puts into making this band work, and honestly it makes SpongeBob's speech, funny and parodical as it is, have all the more emotion put into it. This is definitely one of the best Squidward episodes. So, is "Band Geeks" a well-loved episode? Of course it is! And in my opinion, it deserves every shred of praise that it gets. Sweet victory, yeah!
Less_SpongeBob
This spot is reserved for that thing about this episode I'm typing. I'm just surprised it isn't number 1, maybe a lot of others got into my line of thinking
WhoBibbles
Call it overrated all you want, the episode is so amazeballs. Yeah, the song made the episode popular but the story was also brilliant, the jokes were funny and the ending has to be the best way to end an episode ever. I think we all know what #1 is but I don't wanna speak too much Omair: Honestly you know why lets not even bother God, I love you Omair.
Katniss
Nice commentary, Omair You can't deny how iconic this episode is. It's packed with jokes. My favorite part isn't even Sweet Victory, but rather the band rehearsal before the performance. I left it off my list but let's slide it into my top 10 somewhere
Young Nug
SpongeBob following up that inspiring, almost tongue in cheek speech and getting that band to business by saying "a one! A two! A skeelah-deelah-do!" is perhaps one of the most underrated and iconic scenes from the show Nobody ever seems to notice this but this episode is so quiet. It's almost like a parody of movies in this vein, but it works and adds up to a great episode. It always feels so delightfully downcast and somber in a way, and the strange pacing I've always loved here too. The trumpet playing in honor of that death as Squidward gets on the ground in the fetal position is just so weird and silent and I love it. I wish more Post-Movie episodes would've run with that feel. Gone almost got it right and was much better for it.
So Sejima
Why am I not surprised? Honestly I don't find this near top 10 worthy, somewhat near top 25 worthy, but 50 worthy? That I actually agree with. No I'm not disliking it more because of the song at the end, although I don't get the "OMG PERFECTION THIS IS MY LIFE AND SOUL!", I agree it is a pretty great ending but having to re-watch it, it has it's moments definitely, but stuff like "is mayonnaise an instrument" is not funny after seeing it over and over again, it gets stale. Plus the flag twirlers scene... uh that one gets mixed feelings from me as I'm not sure whether that was dark humor like Nasty Patty with death and everything. MOVING ON! Honestly highlights joke wise were the lines like the stupid music rental clerk, and do instruments of torture count, and well this face: Spoiler Don't get me wrong I like the plot a lot, but it just feels like something is missing now, like do they literally play the one song only? Maybe I just need to brush up on my halftime show knowledge, but I'm pretty sure an entire band of that size would have to do more than one song to beat Squilliam. It was always one thing that irked me even as a kid. Feel free to say "oh I'm against most of the list anyways", I'm ready to defend my opinions on any point needing further explained, as I am completely expecting at least 5 questions anyways.

4EverGreen
"Band Geeks" is NOT number ONE?!!! Granted, it wasn't number one on my list, but still...I have a feeling which episode is going to be number one, but I won't spoil it for anyone else. The Guy With the Computer
This one's easily in my top 10. The jokes are solid and the ending is one of the best ever.
Cowbob_Ranchpants
Band Geeks would be in my top ten, but not top five. It's great, and I love some jokes, but like trophy said, the jokes like Is Mayonnaise an Instrument?. The song is good, but it isn't amazing and while I really like this episode, its not top five material for me. Also I think I do know what numero uno is.Some jokes and some don't get stale
