SpongeBob Infinity and Logo Contest

Yes. This is essentially SpongeBob Universe, completely rethought and reevaluated. SpongeBob Universe was a phenomenal concept, and one we believe still needs to be done. It's been over a year since we last tried to launch SpongeBob Universe, and it will be 1 year since its dissolution on January 1, 2015. However, we have already entered into a new partnership with the SpongeBob Wiki (renamed Encyclopedia SpongeBobia and abbreviated ESB) and it's called SpongeBob Infinity.

So if SpongeBob Infinity is like SBU with a different name, what does differentiate it from its predecessor? Mainly, our execution. As many of you recall, our first attempt at getting SBU off the ground failed mainly because most of it was unfinished. "Why was it unfinished?" you ask. Because, to be blunt, we overextended ourselves.

 

And we did that twice.

This time around, we know a lot more now and instead of releasing everything on a single night, we're staggering it. We've spent the past few months on a new secret project. ESB has already created tons of new infrastructure, like SpongeBob Captures. We will be bringing back the Generator, starting back up Teams and further integrating that, and opening up Plug DJ and SB Jeopardy sessions to ESB members. 

 

The first thing we will be doing with ESB is the SBI logo contest. We don't have a logo, so if you think you can make something killer, POST IT HERE!

 

The contest will last from today to September 7, 2014. If it's still September 7 where you live, you can post it. As soon as it's September 8, the contest is over. At this point, voting will take place. We will add a poll and you can vote on whichever you think is the best. HOWEVER, SBI staff will have the final say. 

 

Have fun creating your logos! We can't wait to show you what we've been working on.

Here is my entry, although I am probably going to make some adjustments later. I made two different concepts that shows the logo elements are flexible.

Here are some smaller versions:

 

Dylan and I talked about the SBU pineapple as a sort of symbol. The use of the pineapple also fits with the banners. The pineapple and thumbs up SpongeBob are interchangable within the logo:

No offense but those are so plain. I hate the default SB character pictures now that nick.com or another big site uses. I think it needs more pizazz.

No, it's not the only thing you have. There would've been others that would enter eventually. You just have to have patience for it.
