William Leonard
Like I said, what is going on here? The fact that they can get totally drunk on 60-odd Triple Gooberberry Sunrises has baffled me ever since I saw the movie. Can somebody explain? Wumbo
It's a kid-friendly alternative to beer. Besides, if they didn't get drunk, we wouldn't have the awesome scene where SpongeBob calls Mr. Krabs out.
E.V.I.L.
The ice-cream is frozen beer, which chickens used their feathers to coat in vanilla and crushed to make it creamy and make it look like ice-cream. Gosh.
Sauce Mama
You know what I think? Maybe the waiter spiked the ice cream. He didn't like them in the first place!
Wumbo
You'd think the waiter would try to make them less obnoxious, though.
Spongepat
Maybe he wants to see what would happen with these two "kids" drunk. Does that make Goofy Goobers an Ice Cream (Kid Friendly) Bar?
Ron
It's a kid-friendly alternative to beer. Besides, if they didn't get drunk, we wouldn't have the awesome scene where SpongeBob calls Mr. Krabs out. See, this is what I want more of; scenes where they get 'drunk'... I don't see very many scenes anymore that push the envelope, and there were a whole lot more innuendoes in past seasons. I can't see an adult enjoying any Season 9 episodes. I also want more conflict scenes! D: That scene was awesome for several reasons, but I also liked that it had extra affects because SpongeBob has always been so loyal to Mr. Krabs. Anyway, I thought the point where SpongeBob leans on Neptune for support is adorable. xD I dunno why, but it just looks so cute as he just kinda stumbles across. The Lion King
It's a movie about a talking sea sponge that saves the ocean in a grease-powered burgermobile. I think the minor plot point of alcoholic ice cream should be at the bottom of your "wtf list".
Metal Snake
I remember reading a rather pithy explanation a long time ago...BRAIN FREEZE!
Cha
Well, when you consume too much of anything it can make you sick. They probably just had too much dairy and it stunned them. Remember when SpongeBuck ordered a two percent milk drink? He felt woozy too afterwards if you remember.
E.V.I.L.
From what I know if you drink too much water, something in your body explodes and you die. Don't see how eating ice cream all night didn't kill them, but okay.
DaRoadie
Apparently, for kids (or at least the 2), ice creams are the equivalent of alcohol, while ice cream stands are the equivalent of pubs (or bars for americans). Still, too much frozen cow juice could be bad for you.
The Lion King
From what I know if you drink too much water, something in your body explodes and you die. Lol, I'd really like to know where you heard that.
E.V.I.L.
Lol, I'd really like to know where you heard that. My sister just completed med school and told me that.
NegiSpongie
I think SpongeBob and Patrick are funny when they're drunk;
ClassicNickelodeon Fan 1
You really wanna know why they got drunk...? It's because of... IMAGIONATION!
TJ
Yes, the writers intended it to be an innuendo. I don't think they got drunk per say off the ice cream, but rather a sugar rush.
The Crow
Maybe it's like Man vs Food, they got drunk off the large amount they ate.
E.V.I.L.
I still think the Ice Cream is a poisonous, fishy, repellent that when swallowed makes you act drunk and hate on shiny, red, filthy cheap crabs.
crushingmayhem
There's plenty of cartoons with subliminal messages out there. The same happened with Spongebob and Patrick.
