(temperature, itching, and a few others are also senses) -There are three states of matter -The desert has to be hot -Alaska is not accessible by road. -People still permanently live in igloos. you guys should totally add some
terminoob Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 -Snow can't melt in the high 20's. What? If it can only be formed at 32 degrees Fahrenheit (and below) how can it be melted at a temperature lower than that?
E.V.I.L. Posted June 22, 2013 Author Posted June 22, 2013 Who believes that? If it can only be formed at 32 degrees Fahrenheit (and below, obviously) it can't be melted at 29 degrees Fahrenheit. Actually it can be melted at 29 degrees F. Dirt can absorb heat and make the temperature of the ground above freezing, mostly on a sunny day. However, once you reach a low enough temperature (20 and below), it will stay there. Snow can also go through sublimation as well.

(It may have caused the most deaths in the world, but it's not the most dangerous. That trophy would go to the box jellyfish.)
TJ Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Well then, who did? the first functioning telephone was actually invented 15 years before Alexander by Philipp Reis, a German inventor. His device (which he called the Reis Telephone) was first demonstrated in 1861. The Reis Telephone was only able to transmit musical tones quite clearly, and human voices faintly. So the first transmission of human voices over wire was on the device created by Reis, a full fifteen years prior to the invention by Alexander who now receives all the accolades for it. 1
