Metal Snake
...Though it's nice to finally be making a Youtube drama topic that does not involve the three terrible C's (copyright claim crap) for a change, this is still some inexplicably heinous shit. To abridge what happened for those who didn't watch the video, the supposed savior of the internet, Gabe Newell, has been promoting underage gambling targeted at teenagers...and lying about it. He, likely, made a deal with two very popular Youtubers to make videos playing and promoting a mini-game for one of Valve's games, CS:GO, a mini-game that is essentially a digital casino game where you buy and bet skins with real monetary value and see if you can win more valuable ones that you can sell for real money. You only have to be 13 to play it. Because of this, there have been many complaints from parents to Valve over their children losing money because of their game, but that isn't even the icing on the cake. The Youtubers who made the promotion videos didn't say a word about them having a scheme with Valve, whom they likely own stocks in as evidence shows, falsifying blind reactions and writing in their descriptions that they were being sponsored by a third-party website, CSGOLotto, rather than Valve's website, Steam. On CSGOLotto, you get to play an emulated version of the game and essentially do the same thing you could do on Steam. They pretended to be people who had just discovered the website...when they were the creators of the website. They played the game, gambled, won big, and very likely faked winning big by rigging the results, something they could have easily done as the website's creators. You've probably already guessed, knowing me, that I always thought the "GABEN IS GOD" memes were tripe, but this is still tremendously disappointing. He and two other millionaires scammed a bunch of teenagers out of their allowance money. I'm serious, this is shameful. Edited July 19, 2016 by Metal Snake Thank you Steel. Sorry for what I got wrong.

Steel Sponge
Wow, this is just awful. It's a really shady move, indeed. Also, Gaben's surname is spelled "Newell." Edited July 6, 2016 by Steel Sponge

Metal Snake
Well, Valve purportedly dropped out of the scandal... http://www.pcgamer.com/what-happened-to-csgo-skin-prices-after-valves-gambling-ban/ ...but famous Youtubers have not. Yes, the skins are still worth money. This scam, however, was different from the last one in that proof was found that the owners of the third-party website faked winning big. Yup. You had no part in this Valve. You just not only made a shitload of money off this, but are continuing to make money off this without fear of consequences. You are totally not "condemning" this now just to save face. I hate this world.
