Seeing pop-friendly songs like this being on the ALTERNATIVE CHARTS and playing ON ALTERNATIVE STATIONS makes me lose hope in alternative in general.
So because it's Indie Pop and Alternative Dance means that my rock stations have to play it a lot now?

not gonna say anything about the song proper right now because of my blog, but i will say that i will do lookbacks on the alternative year-end charts in the future, and let me tell you, compared to all the post-grunge garbage that was plaguing the airwaves by the end of the 2000's, you really would want more things like...
...them?

For starters, I say I'd just prefer to have less indie pop songs at a level of quality as "Best Friend" plaguing Alt stations. The Alt charts may have some pretty bad hits right now, but...so did a good chunk of the Alt charts back in 2000-2003 and 2008. Looking back into any of those years might be pretty interesting.
