I'm not saying that I'd find the complaints about ugly character designs to be hard to understand. I'm talking about the kinds of people who will say that they don't like a thing because the characters look bad/ugly and just leave it there. Take 12 oz. Mouse for example, I feel characters being poorly drawn is the main point of the show's crude style, but most others tend to take that art style so seriously, even despite the mere fact that the show is created by the same guy behind Aqua Teen Hunger Force. If that's not enough info, there's also the criticisms for As Told By Ginger for having ugly character designs while saying nothing about any other show from Klasky-Csupo that have the company's style because ATBG has the characters' lips and eyes being too far apart and what else.
I really didn't wanna have to talk about cartoons like this. The landscape of the cartoon community is so frustrating to me to the point where I notice that I've gotten worked up in a conversation about certain people getting worked up over cartoons that they dislike.
The main subject of the conversation had to do with Prez trying to deal with negativity for a show that he enjoys, so I'm going to put it real bluntly: if you like a cartoon that people hate, then enjoy it all you want, don't let the negativity change your mind. However, if someone hates a cartoon that you like, they can hate it all they want. People will always have a reason to love or hate something, no matter if they do or do not have much to say, because in the end, it's only an opinion.

Can we just like what we like, not like what we don't like, and let other people do the same? It's what we're going to ultimately end up doing anyways, essay or no essay on the internet about it. I love loads of stuff that most people hate or don't get, but it doesn't bother me. If you let the "popular opinion" irritate you, that's part of allowing it to influence you and make you forget that this is all just entertainment made for fun. Just watch your shows, chill with your bros.
