The late 1980's was probably one of the best eras of rap. Maestro Fresh-Wes was telling us to let our backbones slide, Young MC was getting us to bust a move, and then there was NWA, with this hit song, the record it appears on often cited as the pioneering gangsta rap record. Once upon a time, they were one of Canada's most successful bands, winning multiple Juno Awards and nominated for quite a few Grammys. Unfortunately, in 2009 singer Steven Page left the band due to fallouts over drug use, and while the band has stayed together, it really hasn't been the same since. Here's one of BNL's best songs, sung by the one and only Steven Page. This is actually the second version of the song, which I prefer to the original.
