Guest hilaryfan80 Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Unfortunately, due to what's occurred on SBC Music lately, we're going to have to put down some ground rules on what can and can't be played. I'd hate to come down to this, but when people abuse something, we have to act upon it. Here's the updated rules for SBC Music on the "SBC Rules" page. You can find this page on the bottom right corner of every page on the forums, or in the navigation at the top, and it's always accessible to everyone. 4. SBC Music All basic rules from SBC still apply on SBC Music. Moderators and Administrators will be there and can report any incidents that occur there. It is fine to have an opinion, but do not bash another member for their music taste. No requests can be made that are longer than 10 minutes in length. Doing so will result in the video being skipped automatically by Karen. The sole purpose of SBC Music is for music. Unless an official event is occurring at SBC Music that allows for other types of videos to be requested, any non-music request by anyone is subject to the discretion of SBC staff. This includes "joke" videos. An exception will be made if you obtain prior permission from a staff member. For example, if hilaryfan80 is on SBC Music and you ask to play a video and he says you can, then this rule does not apply for mentioned video. Porn is to not be played on SBC Music. Slight nudity is allowed if it's tasteful and does not expose rated "R" content (e.g. "Bicycle Race" by Queen).

crushingmayhem Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Sounds good to me. People can sometimes be a little biased with certain types of music and tend to dislike what others post. This is fairer imo. We should like other people's music even if we have different tastes.
Guest Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 dang i wanted to play the Grateful Dead's 35 minute Dark Star space in there

Astro Bot Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 This is assuming that anyone could do that. Someone apparently did play porn, but we're not sure who. The history log will tell us now on who has played what.

Rap Critic Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Believe it or not, there are better places on the Internet to get your porn than SpongeBob community music sites. 7
Sweat Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 This is assuming porn can get on Youtube. Yeah, you can upload it unlisted to YouTube

Burgerpants Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 So does this mean we can't play SMACK MY BITCH UP on SBC considering the music video?
Guest hilaryfan80 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 So does this mean we can't play SMACK MY BITCH UP on SBC considering the music video? I'm going to say no on grounds of common sense. I did watch it all the way through. I'll say no to the video simply because of the fact that sex is direct and indiscreet, but if you find a lyric video of that song, that's allowed.

I can also come up with some other videos to be banned: Bjork: Pagen Poetry, Cocoon (Both contain graphic sexual content) Nine Inch Nails: Closer, Happiness in Slavery (DUH) Rihanna : S&M (Sexual imagery) Marylin Manson: Well, ANY one of his videos. You know why. Maybe we should compile banned videos into a list
