Happy Thanksgiving, nerds.
I won't be on for too long; an hour or two at most, since the turkey is still cooking.
-
Gonna start watching Wunschpunsch today. Thank you for introducing me to this show, my dude.

Dwarf Fortress, IMO, is the hardest game in existence.

Happy belated anniversary to me.
Thank you all for putting up with my idiocy for two years.

Scratch that, the problem's fixed for now, at least until I get a new power supply.

So, just watched Mr. Enter's Indiegogo video. Honestly?
Waaay too fucking ambitious.
-
I saw it too and I'll be blunt when I say that I have more faith in Enter's passion project than I have towards Butch's Kickstarter project. It does sound a little too ambitious, but in general, I thought his pitch was pleasant enough. Enter also did a Q&A about his campaign and at the very least, he sounds civil about how some folks are responding to his campaign while Butch seems to make the implication that people who criticize his project are heartless schmucks or whatever.

Listening to Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven on recommendation of @President Squidward. I like its experimental avant-garde alt rock vibe (reminds me of In Utero by Nirvana quite a bit, ngl), but I can def see why a majority of Cudi's fanbase don't like it. Might do a review on the album, we'll see

ok, i'm just gonna say this about the roseanne controversy, speaking as a right-wing libertarian:
i myself don't exactly care for obama (or just politics in general, tbh), but i wouldn't outright say one of his advisers was "a cross between the muslim brotherhood and planet of the apes". that's just going too far. i don't care if it was a joke or not, roseanne. you should have some sort of standard.

There's no denying that comedy is based on offending someone in some way. But you have to:
a) know exactly who you want to offend and why
b) put time and effort into a joke if you're going to offend said person effectively
c) know exactly what you're doing, how you're doing it, and knowing your limits.
Roseanne did none of that. Her "joke" was the lowest-effort comedy I've ever seen. It wasn't funny, had no time or effort put into it, and was just offensive for the sake of being offensive.
"Political correctness is the death of comedy", says Mel Brooks. And I do agree on that. But this isn't a case of political correctness gone mad, or "MUH FREE SPEECH IS BEING CENSORED BY TEH SJWs!!!111!!!!1111!!!!". It's a case of a has-been woman trying to stay relevant and failing horribly.
