      Globalization and the internet amplify tragedies. Yes, it's unfortunate that these events still happen and it's a problem, but statistically speaking it's the safest time in human history to be alive. This can be attributed pretty much because whenever something happens, you near-instantly know about it because of social media and the news.

      It's...not been one of the better years of my life so far, but I'm glad some people are enjoying it. 2012/2013 were worse for me and nothing has been worse for me than 2002/2003, for sure.
