Hence Plankton's memory of recognizing Patrick blacking out, Larry's memory of recognizing Spongebob blacking out, Flying Dutchman's memory of recognizing Mr. Krabs blacking out, and anything else that could affect any turn of events that was made canon, at least in any future episode. First off, like Steel said it could do with the writers just coming with things as they please and not bothering if another episode contradicts that one.
