Popular Post Jjs Goodman
Yup, our annual event celebrating Spin-Offs & Literatures is returns again...but with a twist. This will be no ordinary Spin-Off Festival. That's right. On July 2nd, 2008 marks the ten year anniversary of when tvfan95 started our spin-off tradition on tv.com! It's hard to believe, but it's true. Even if you weren't a part of the original spin-off days, everyone's work will be a part of this 10 year legacy. We went out of our way to make this one extra special due to this fact. Even though not everyone here writes or reads spin-offs, I'm proud to see the tradition lives on here. It warms me heart to see people still writing or reading them to this very day. Because of this, we have one hell of a giant event planned to celebrate the hard work of every spin-off author from the past ten years! What is the Spin-Off Festival, if you don't know? The Spin-Off Festival, or SOF (), is an event where we honor people's well-written spin-offs and literatures ("Spin-Off & Literature Festival" sounds too strange) with a carnival theme, offering many games, events and more! This is a fun event that sparks activity in the spin-off/lit section, and might even get some newer members interested. Even if you know pretty much nothing on spin-offs, don't worry, as there will be several fun activities that you don't need to know much about them for. Going from May 25th, 2018 to June 19th, 2018, we're going to have the greatest Spin-Off Festival ever! Everything from past years will return, but with several new activities and celebrations of the 10 year history of spin-offs, which will make this one really special. Like the past two festivals, there will be several tribute games to a few works. Here are a few things you can expect during this festival... * SpongeBob Whodunnit? - SOF Edition: Whodunnit returns with a carnival and spin-off theme! There's a mystery awaiting at Glove Universe! No teams for this one, but you can rake a lot of SOF Tickets out of this! * Spin-Off & Lit Trivia Contest: A six part trivia game covering all 10 years of spin-offs. Do you think you truly know everything about spin-offs & lits? If so, then see if you can brave this beast. * SpongeCraft Tournaments: SpongeCraft will get relaxing carnival themed games during the event. They will be every Saturday night during the event at 8:30pm ET, after Jeopardy. * SpongeBob Wheel of Fortune: There will be four Spin-Off & Literature Wheel of Fortune games on Fridays (May 25th, June 1st, June 8th, and June 15th) during the event. * SpongeBob Jeopardy:There will be three Jeopardy games based on Spin-Offs/Lits counting for SOF8 during the event on May 26th, June 2nd, and June 9th. * Dunces & Dragons: D&D returns May 27th in time for the event, with several spin-off/lit related roleplaying games! * SpongeCraft Tournaments: SOF Tickets will be returning for the fourth time. These are a temporary sub-currency, similar to Doubloons. You'll be able to earn these from winning a multitude of games during the festival, along with several other methods. You can use these to buy special prizes at the Prize Store, a temporary new Store category. There will be a ton of new prizes this year, and we'll offer many chances for you to rake as many tickets as possible to get them. Even if you think you suck at the regular games, there will be a ton of new ways to earn them (including moar new minigames). If you have any SOF Tickets leftover from the previous years, those are gone as everyone starts fresh. Makes things even more exciting. Also, no the tickets don't have SOF's face on them. * Spin-Off/Lit Games & Stores: Just like the past three years, we'll be allowing users to bring back stores to sell some merchandise related to your creations, along with creating spin-off/lit games! If users want to make their own games, go ahead, because we want to give users as much freedom as possible during this (as long as they make sense). We'll even be making some more spin-off games to give people chances to win SOF Tickets. * Stop What You Are Doing: Like last year, there will be a fitting SWYAD for this Spin-Off Festival! Starting Friday, you will be able to reserve the names of Spin-Off & Lit Characters of your choice to use during the event. They don't have to be spin-off/lit related though if you don't want to. As an added bonus, anyone who participates in the SWYAD gets free 25 SOF Tickets the day the event starts! * And A LOT, LOT more to come! If you don't write or read any spin-offs/lits, that's fine! You don't have to read or make any to participate in this event, but participating in this is optional anyways. This will be a pretty open-ish event as it is. You can either only play in the games, only focus on writing your spin-offs, or reading people's spin-offs... you can honestly really do whatever you want during this. If you loved SOF7, then this will be the same as that, but even better. I'm very proud of this event, and I hope everyone enjoys it. I also owe a special thanks to the many important spin-off figures from both tv.com and SBC who helped keep this tradition alive in the past ten years. Even if some aren't around anymore, they'll be remembered. Edited May 15, 2018 by jjsthekid 1 11

JCM
Crazy that it's been ten years already. I'm happy that I was able to contribute to the spin-off canon and I'm excited to do it again for the festival. 1 1
Old Man Jenkins
Damn son, 10 years. I was still apart of the Avatar community at that time. Never expected myself to have been apart of this thing for seven of those years, but I don't regret it mostly. Can't wait to ring in the celebration! 1 1
