The Shoutbox was a feature on The SpongeBob Community released with Orca 8.4 on November 4, 2013. It is on the SBC index, on top of the forum category sections on SBC. At the end of 2014, it was upgraded to a new format that SBC Music, SpongeBob Jeopardy!, and SpongeBob Wheel of Fortune used. It received another update on January 20, 2016, using the BIM Chatbox application, which made it more akin to an actual chatbox.
Since its release, it became extremely popular with the community, almost as much as Xat. However, as of 2019, its popularity has died down in favor of the Discord. It was removed October 29, 2022 due to Discord making it unnecessary.
