Voice Change

What do you think of Spongebob's voice change after the movie at the start of season 4? Do you like the old voice or the second voice better? I think it was too high pitched and Spongebob became too annoying to even listen to anymore. I just can't stand it. For me, it's just not tolerable. And it's like he went through puberty backwards. Literally. So it just does not make any sense at all. The original voice was so much more natural and normal and felt enjoyable to hear.

But that's not the only reason why I hate seasons 4-7. Most storylines from seasons 4-7 anyway were horrible even if they featured the old voice. Most of them anyway. Some of them were good, and they would have been as good as all the ones from seasons 1-3 if it weren't for the new voice they added. So, what do you guys think of the voice change? Or what did you think of it when it happened? Do you/did you like it? Or hate it? Or did you even notice it?And also, why do you think Tom Kenny decided to change the voice? It still was him who did the voice after the movie. The person did not change. So I don't get it.

The whole bolded thing could have been left out. Seriously, we get you hate seasons 4-7, stop making your hate for it so clear, because we got it. And the voice change doesn't bother me at all, seriously it really doesn't.

Ok, I tried to ignore it, but the bolded part is seriously one of the most offensive things I've ever read on this site in at least a long long time. I mean, whats wrong with homosexuals? Are you one of those people who cares about a cartoon character's orientation? Whatever your reasoning, this comes out so bad from you. People are going to read this and label you as a homophobic jerk. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER MAN!

Okay listen. I'm sorry I said he sounded gay. I should not have said that. I think being gay is wrong, but people have a right to be the way they want to and I respect anyone's decision. It's none of my business because it's their own private life. Nobody who is against being gay should stop gay people from being gay because they have a right to do whatever they want to. If men like men, that's the way they chose to be and nobody has a right to say otherwise. You're right Fa. That's exactly my point. That's exactly what I'm saying. Just because I think it is wrong does not make them any less of people. I understand that. That is clearly what I am trying to point out. I apologize for saying that he sounds gay.

I honestly did not notice his voice was different until people on the Internet starting to point it out. I remember in a blog Mr. Lawrence wrote for SpongeBob.com (back when the site still had that feature), he mentioned that Tom Kenny is doing SpongeBob's voice a little higher, so he's trying to do Plankton's voice a little lower.

While there are several possible reasons for this, I think that Tom Kenny thought it would be easier and more appealing just to make SpongeBob's voice a little higher-pitched. I really don't mind it at all. It's not ridiculously high and you can still tell that it's SpongeBob's voice.

I mainly judge an episode based on its plot/script quality, not subtleties surrounding the voices.

Okay listen. I think being gay is wrong/immoral, but people have a right to be the way they want to and I respect anyone's decision. It's none of my business because it's their own private life. You are right. I should have mentioned that before I posted this topic. I'm just saying the voice sounds so bad that it makes him sound gay. And that bothers me because his voice was not originally like that, and they decided to change it to something that sounds worse. I am talking about a cartoon man. It wasn't meant to offend anybody. But I still have a right to point out what I think of his voice. I just should have mentioned this before I posted the topic. The main statement that I am trying to make here is that I don't care if people are gay, but Spongebob's voice sounding gay bothers me because his voice did not originally sound like that.

Just because you think homosexuality is immoral doesn't mean that their any less of people. Just because you think it's wrong doesn't give you the right to offend them, and you simply don't seem to get that.

His laugh sounded the same, too. Whatever.
I thought it was squeakier in just that one episode, which made it all the more annoying since it was centered around SpongeBob's laughing. But this is not the place to vent about Unfunny Pants, so I shall stop there.
