North Carolina right now lmao. School's closed on Thursday and Friday. I should be fine though, we're super prepared

In remembrance of 9/11, with a song, well, about 9/11 written while it happened. And after seeing what we saw, can we still reclaim our innocence?
-
Haven't been having the best weekend in the world. On Friday I blew a fuse at my cousin over misinterpreting a joke (we patched everything up), and on Saturday I ran into some "friends" at the mall and got really upset over that because I've been feeling uncomfortable around them because I just feel I didn't belong in that group and there's some info about them I know and it's all not good; and got sad over that for some dumb reason and then I told my friend and he told me a bunch of truth about it and how pretty much everyone I saw dislikes me (actually glad he told me that, I'd much rather know than live with a lie. One called me creepy after having sympathy for me because she has a brother with Asperger's which I have and the other two just don't like me as it seems). And I have so much stuff coming up. My exam for my worst class is in a week and I've got a huge English project due on Friday.
At least At The Drive-In's new record is helping me cope. Fantastic stuff.

*looks both ways, nervously*
I think Riverdale is one of the downright stupidest ideas for a television show ever. If you like it I ain't gonna try to stop you though
-
I was at work the other day and overhead a woman trying to sell her friend on the show by saying "it's, like, y'know, it's Archie and the gang trying to solve a murder".
So... you really can't take this show seriously. It's going to limit your enjoyment (if you've even seen any of it). Everyone I know that watches it (my girlfriend and I are included in this) only watches it (and gets enjoyment out of it) because of how absurdly stupid it is, not because it's some tightly written witty Sorkin-esque drama.
-
@terminoob Yeah, man I get the appeal of watching it for the absurdity. Most of the people I know take it actually seriously, and just, my god, I can't understand how anyone would. Turning Archie into an edgy teen drama is like turning the Flintstones into a BoJack Horseman type dramedy.
-
Well, bad example, because DC actually did that with The Flintstones and it became a 12 issue comic that ended up being a critical hit - so much so that the guy who wrote it is now gonna be doing a Snagglepuss comic where he's a gay southern gothic playwright. Just because an idea or plot sounds ridiculous or stupid doesn't mean the execution of it is. Archie as an edgy teen drama makes sense for the modern era of media - doing a straight-up adaptation of 50s Archie wouldn't work because that's not what viewers want. The creator of Riverdale is the Chief Creative Officer of Archie comics and writes Afterlife with Archie (horror Archie series? Incredibly stupid, but somehow amazing), so the dude gets what the core of Archie is about and how to translate that. Archie has always been overly saccharine and cheesy; Riverdale goes along the same line of thinking, just in a noir-thriller genre rather than slice-of-life.
I don't think Riverdale was meant to be taken seriously in the first place, because Archie isn't exactly a comic you could take that seriously, so your friends might just be a tad too invested. I can't imagine how someone could take Jughead or "Dark Betty" or Cheryl or the implied incest seriously.
Edit: BoJack Horseman is also an odd example to go with, because if you tell someone the plot of that show they're gonna think you're fucking with them. A dark dramedy show about an anthropomorphic horse actor going through a midlife crisis and the decisions that he's making and how they affect his relationships. That's an insane premise. I remember all the articles on TV.com before it premiered that were talking about how stupid it looked and how terrible the trailers were and how Will Arnett and Aaron Paul are wasting their time. But the execution of it was dynamite and here we are.

Admittedly a little self-conscious about seeming self-centered on here. Do I seem self-centered, or is it all in my head?
-
Also just as something I want to bring up; I've been considering for a while making a video after I officially graduate talking about my adventure on this website and what I've been doing and where I hope to go in the future and all that stuff. It'd be a real face reveal and obviously it'd have my voice in it. It'd be a private YouTube link; I think I can trust you guys with showing my actual face, just asking if anyone was interested in watching it.

Anyone who says Megaman 11 has a bad soundtrack can put a sock in it. All of the songs have been stuck in my head since I got the game, man and they're all a complete blast to listen to by themselves.

Applied for my first job today at a Japanese restaurant that's about a 5-10 minute drive. Gonna continue to apply to other places in hopes of getting a job. I do hope i get this one though, the hours are extremely workable for me and it's very close by.

Are Edward Elric profile photos now a trend? Because I'm 100% down with it being one.

As a kid I always remember my parents skipping Be My Girl- Sally by The Police whenever we listened to Outlands d'Amour in the car and now... yeah, I finally get why.

As someone who failed a college class last semester....
Look, it really ain't that big of a deal, as terrible as you may feel about it (and I felt awful before telling my parents and them supporting me because they knew the professor sucked and knew Ii was struggling). I've got no holds on registration and from what I can see a lot of other people in my shoes on the internet turned out just fine. Failure is a part of life.

I know what I'm getting for dinner tomorrow night

Can't believe I'm 18. Just wow. Feels pretty crazy albeit not bad at all to be an adult now.

Dang, Bless The Harts is actually not that bad. Definitely glad it's getting a second season. The animation wasn't as bad as I thought it would be upon watching and as someone who's lived in the same state as the show takes place his whole life and has been to the area it's based on a lot, I get so much more secondhand enjoyment from that.

Day 2- When you get your wisdom teeth out, never, ever, take Vicodin unless you are in extreme pain. I was prescribed it and took some at midnight and basically all it made me do was throw up and lose sleep, and made me feel nauseous for about 12 hours straight. Other than that, I've been doing well, it's just that really threw me off. I'm already sick and tired of feeling like this, but unfortunately I've just got to wait it out to recover.

Dear everyone complaining about the voice acting in Mega Man 11-

Dear GTS users:
I am not trading my Necrozma OR my Naganadel. No need to fill the ENTIRE GTS asking for those two. Thanks and have a good day
