I've felt down in the dumps about the job market too, but you just have to make it your top priority and eventually you will find something. Just like how I found my promotion for example. I kept being persistent with my company about ways to expand my future with them and eventually I found a hiring manager position available and nailed them with my smile and enthusiasm.
