Some points I wanted to make:

  • Empire State of Mind, I feel, would've made this list if Jay-Z wasn't a piece of shit who kept his original songs off of Spotify.
  • It shouldn't be surprising that the latter half of the decade has more songs on this list. There were so many songs from '00 to '05 that had less than even 10 million plays. It's funny to me how disposable the early 2000's were compared to the latter half considering that period is probably gonna be known as an era where pop music was massive in hindsight.
  • How the fuck did Let Me Love You by Mario earn so much longevity. That's so high for a song that I assumed was forgotten.
  • As to be expected, we still love Usher, Beyonce and Rihanna.
  • When it comes to Nelly's #1 hits, I didn't know Dilemma was more popular than Hot in Herre but here you go.
  • I hear about people feeling intense hatred towards Smooth by Santana due to how overplayed it allegedly was, so it's funny to me how it didn't even make the top 50. Maybe the overexposure backlash was permanent.
  • I'm also insanely baffled over there being no We Belong Together by Mariah Carey. That song is still loved and it was the biggest hit of the decade when it comes to chart performance, so it genuinely beats me over how it didn't make the list.
  • Does it really surprise anyone that Lose Yourself is the most popular song from that decade? Honestly, it still sounds fresh to me and it's funny how I know multiple people who despise Eminem (both on the internet and in real life) who like that song anyway.

I agree with twelve of the songs on this list, but no Backstreet Boys, N*SYNC, or Michael Jackson? SERIOUSLY?! o.o At least the 2000's weren't as BAD of a decade for music as I thought it was.

I don't remember Michael Jackson having any #1 songs in the 2000s. In fact, I don't even remember any of his 2000s songs. He really wasn't as prolific as he was in the '70s/'80s/'90s.
