Clappy Posted March 9, 2014 Share Posted March 9, 2014 So I got to see this today. Definitely nowhere near as good as the original...obviously. Just in general, this was pretty stupid. Not amusingly stupid either. Like Themistocles (the main character) was incredibly uncharismatic and rather boring. Too much of the movie was spent on him. Xerxes as well including his backstory was kinda mediocre. Oh and the battle sequences could have used a lot more action and excitement. If I have anything positive to say, Eva Green's character Artesmia (spelling?) is incredibly compelling and Eva Green in general is such an underrated actress. She nearly steals the movie, but of course we all know it's about the shirtless guys and all the blood and gore...oh and the most laughably bad sex scene in quite some time.
