Rabbits have this knack for reproducing really quickly/a lot, and eggs are similar to Jesus rising from the dead (think of the chicken inside as Jesus and the eggshell as the tomb). As far as I know, rabbits were around in the church for a while and sort of always represented life in some way, but I have no idea when eggs were brought into the picture. Which begs the question: Which came first, Jesus dying for our sins and emerging from his rock tomb three days later... or the egg? 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
