Littleroot Village

Littleroot Village is a populated settlement in the Frontierlands, and the first officially-designated municipality in SpongeCraft Frontiers. Originally discovered on SCF's launch day by DarknessDG, and officially incorporated two days later by HawkbitAlpha, it is a former NPC village located in the world's savannah biome. It is the largest connection hub of the Pioneer Central Railway, being linked by rail to the Great Hoodoos, as well as the villages of Centralia, New Horizonia, and Pescare Part.

Due to its close proximity to the server's spawn point in the Great Hoodoos, Littleroot Village became the primary population center of SCF within only two days of the server's launch, with all active players having moved into the village by July 6th, either by claiming its existing abandoned houses or building their own. The village's existing houses were left empty due to a nighttime swarm of mobs which occurred shortly after its discovery by DG, effectively wiping out the original population of NPC villagers. However, following the removal of Meko's iron maker in September 2023, another group of free-roaming villagers was released into its perimeter. As of October 5th, 2023, Littleroot is the home base of Hawkbit, DarknessDG, WhoBob, Meko1432, OWM. RDSP, Compressere, and dmandaman.

The Batcave

Buildings & Objects

• Littleroot Commons - A building containing a large storage basement and other public-use furnishings, used primarily for shared storage of foodstuffs and other materials. Repurposed from a former NPC building.
• The Batcave - A series of large Batman-inspired underground rooms built by Meko, also serving as his home. It is connected by a network of underground tunnels to several other buildings within the village, including the basements of the Hilltop Habitat and Littleroot Commons, and the lobby of the Hamlet Habitat.
• Wayne Tower - A low-rise built by Meko, containing the "primary" entrance to the Batcave. It straddles the Littleroot Commons, and occupies the former space of an auto-generated NPC cottage that Meko had used as his home for the server's first few months. Currently the tallest building in SCF.
• The Flagpole - Littleroot Village's most recognizable symbol, a pair of queer pride flags. Originally built by Meko atop the village well, but later rebuilt on the roof of the Littleroot Commons.
• Enchantment Library - A building housing an enchantment table. Built by Hawkbit.
• The Roller Coaster - A minecart rail-based roller coaster built by Meko.
• Great Portal - An outsized Nether portal framed with wood, and surrounded by fencing due to zombie pigmen frequently traveling through it. Built by Meko.
• The Skylighter - A redstone-powered fireworks launcher, designated for use on special events such as New Years Eve. Repurposed by Hawkbit from a former NPC building.

Homes

Littleroot Village as originally generated

• HawkbitAlpha's Hamlet Habitat - A hybrid home and inn built by Hawkbit near the village's fenced perimeter, designed as an enlarged successor to the Hilltop Habitat. Currently the largest house in SCF.
• The Hilltop Habitat - A moderate-size house built atop the town's hill by Hawkbit, and used as his home from SCF's launch to September 2023. Now owned and occupied by WhoBob.
• DarknessDG's House - The first scratch-built home in Littleroot Village.
• RDSP & Compressere's House - Repurposed from a former NPC building.
• Quality Time - A vacant house repurposed from a former NPC building. Previously owned by WhoBob.
• OWM's Hideout - A dugout at the base of the town's hill, outside the perimeter.

Former Features

• Iron Maker - A floating structure built by Meko, designed to automatically create iron ingots. Decommissioned and removed on September 21st, 2023, due to SCF's upgrade to Minecraft 1.14 causing it to become non-functional.

Trivia

• The village was named by Hawkbit after the starting town from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, due to it being the first official settlement in SCF.
