184b. Evil Spatula

For an episode from this part of the show, Evil Spatula was actually kind of interesting. Despite the overly-familiar plotline of Plankton disguising himself in a way to steal the formula by tricking Spongebob (we've seen this plot 4 times already at this point), it still felt rather interesting, despite the obviously blander writing (though here, it wasn't nearly as bland as it could have been), lack of jokes and slower pace. Of course, these are also setbacks, as while I enjoyed parts of this episode, there were also parts where it just sort of dragged along, not to the level of its sister episode but this doesn't help the episode much, if at all. Overall, Evil Spatula is an interesting episode to watch at times, but it is still marred by the same drawbacks that other Season 9a episodes suffer from.
