Inanimate Carbon Rod
Since the holiday season is around the corner, no better time to post this topic than now. So, what are your favorite specials from the studio that created many of the most famous and instantly recognized holiday specials of all time? As for me, my personal favorites are as follows: The Year Without a Santa Claus (The Miser Brothers, especially.) Frosty the Snowman Frosty's Winter Wonderland (both very well-done cel-animated specials with outstanding voice acting from Jackie Vernon as Frosty and others. Oh- and Jack Frost in "Winter Wonderland" is just all around great. Especially the superior voice characterization from the legendary Paul Frees.) Santa Claus is Comin' To Town (great, entertaining story, like the others, plus some more great voice characterization from Frees as Burgermeister Meisterburger. Winter is one of the better villains in Rankin-Bass history IMO.) Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July (viewed this one yesterday. The snow dragons and the "Genie of the Magic Scepter" may give the more timid viewers out there major creepo vibes, but still a good special.) Rudolph's Shiny New Year (HAVE A HAPPY! HAVE A HAPPY! HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!) Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (the original. And a great one at that.)
4EverGreen
Probably "Frosty the Snowman" and "Frosty's Winter Wonderland" are the best in my books!
