Sponge Cup was a teams forum event, based on the FIFA World Cup. It started July 1, 2018 and concluded July 31, 2018. The site's teams, the Band Geeks, Drasticals, and Independents, faced off once more. In the end, the Band Geeks won.

SpongeBob Whodunnit?
Whodunnit returned again for Sponge Cup. The goal this time was to figure out figure out stole Larry's energy drink. The following characters were suspects: Larry, SpongeBob, Patrick, Scooter, Sandy, Don the Whale, Squidward, Plankton and Craig Mammalton. On select days during the event, the characters came on and released their anecdote on what happened. The characters would also come on to answer user's questions as well in their topics. Users had to PM jjs who they think the culprit is. On July 31st, the culprit was revealed to be Patrick. The winners who correctly guessed (4EverGreen, LocalAquatic, Trophy, Fred, NegiSpongie, Honest Slug, Halibut, JCM, sbl, Wintermelon, Hayden, Homie, OWM, CakeCup, OBAB, Mythix, SOF and Darkness) received 1,000 doubloons each and a point for their teams on the scoreboard.

SpongeBob Wheel of Fortune
Four games this month counted for the scoreboard. The first game on July 6th, 2018, "Sporty Sponge", was a SpongeBob Sports themed game which was won by DarknessDG for the Drasticals. The second game on July 13th, 2018, "Toenail Clippings & Nose Hair", was an Obscure SpongeBob Food themed game which was won by Wintermelon43 for the Band Geeks. The third game on July 20th, 2018, "Sozin's Wheel", was an Avatar: The Last Airbender themed game which was won by NegiSpongie for the Band Geeks. The fourth and last game on July 27th, 2018, "The Inner Machinations of the Wheel's Mind" the season 5 finale, was a SpongeBob Quotes themed game which was won by Fred Rechid for the Band Geeks.

Sportz? iFish Contest
Another iFish contest. Users had to submit a fish that's sports themed. The winner was Fred's fish, who received 1,500 doubloons, a point for the Band Geeks, and a half off a store item of choice
Soccer Ball Hunt
A soccer ball hunt was held from July 20th, 2018 to July 31st, 2018. Whoever found all 7 soccer balls gained a point for their team, 500 doubloons, and a Squidward Soccer icon to display in their portfolio.
Minigame
Shootouts
A minigame that was held during the event. Users would kick a ball into soccer nets, and the amount of goal points they received would be randomly generated, that is if they did not miss the net. The team that had the most overall points gathered by the end were the Band Geeks, with sbl being the highest scorer for the team.

Ten new iFish items were added to the store during the event, all created by Patty Sponge. Several older team items from The Super Spongy Square Games and March Madness events also returned. Here is a list of what was available:
