027a. The Patrick Show Cashes In

Recommended Posts

It's practically no secret that making fun of shows (especially your OWN show) selling merchandise in order to fund the show, is often a risky endeavor. But thankfully, this episode pulls off the concept really well! While the first idea is realistic enough, selling action figures like Pat The Hapless and Beezelbass (Bubble Bass' magic ancestor), only with the realistic aspects of their powers and abilities cranked WAY up, the ideas only get CRAZIER and more dangerous from there! Needless to say, it was only a matter of time before a Safety Inspector (a brand new character named Bobby Bobbington) eventually decides to confiscate all of the dangerous items! Needing to quickly improvise, Patrick and Squidina segue to ANOTHER commercial, which shows an ACTION figure of Bobby Bobbington himself! Even though it has a potentially dangerous staple gun in it, Bobby is so TOUCHED by the move, he decides to let the Star family sell WHATEVER merchandise they want, and gives back the stuff he attempted to confiscate! Unfortunately, the Star family DOESN'T get to keep their money for long, and not just because of Patrick's stupidity! As it turns out, Patrick's stupidity was SCRIPTED...by a future Rube 800 years into the FUTURE, who was angry at Patrick endangering his tiny city from the future (seen in "The Incredible Shrinking Stars"), by having somehow shrunk the Star family AGAIN, and shaking them within a snow globe, all for the purpose of his OWN commercial! "Beware The Nice Ones", indeed! I'd have to give this episode a 9.5 out of 10! Enough said, true believers!
