SBC's Top 50 Worst Episodes Ever 2016 Edition

Shark Tale

Recommended Posts

SJIBB had potential but it was all ruined by Patrick. Patrick on the stage was kind of funny but thats the only good gag. Oh and SpongeBob was nice, so that's a prop. Otherwise it was boring and mean-spirited. I've seen worse treatment of Squidward tho.

SITKWS, I feel dull about this. It's lame and all but it's really that racist? Ok, there's a bit of it but not to point that I'm actually offened. The ending was awful tho, It was a slap in the face.

I'll be blunt. Little Yellow Book is a good episode in my eyes, it did a lot of things really well that I think many fail to give it credit for due to how much of a backlash it is to the fandom's precious STP ("Squidward Temper Plotline") hatred. (which because of people being sick of that, it made it a really good place for discussion) If anything it helped to resolve most of the complaints lodged at those episodes, filler was nonexistent, SpongeBob was shown to be an innocent child with naivete in his diary to show it, and much of the gags were either really silly, like SpongeBob clucking like a chicken or naming a spatula Fifi being taken so seriously by him, or really exaggerated, like most of Squidward's, to say justified, torment from getting his house contained by a helicopter to sneaking in a good murder joke from the cops. The town's hypocrisy makes perfect sense as the content in SpongeBob's diary is too silly for most to initially believe was a real diary until his feelings were hurt by it.

As for the others, The Clash of Triton made my list at (#4), Smoothe Jazz at (#8), and the atrocious episode I just ranted on was (#2). No way I can beat Nugget's speech from last year on the former and even if I can later, MoBros may even do better when he reviews it, so I'm not gonna look stupid delving into its flaws. Smoothe Jazz could've also worked with a change of focus, but god why did it shove in Patrick's worst appearance to date, he has no purpose in the story and is painfully unfunny and barely even has a conscience. And... ^^^^^^^^ you know.

I'm less annoyed by the Squidward abuse than I am by the SpongeBob abuse. The episode was unnecessarily mean-spirited towards SpongeBob, and the jokes at the expense of him as well as Squidward weren't funny at all.

"Demolition Doofus" and "Cephalopod Lodge" definitely deserve to be on this list. "Trenchbillies," I don't really care one way or the other that it made the list, and I said all I wanted to say about "Boating Buddies."

Not just that, but there is a scene where a guy finds out Squidward is reading Spongebob's diary before the "big reveal". Regardless of what the others hearing about Spongebob's secrets believed, it's still not good writing because it doesn't flow properly.

Little Yellow Book: My dislike for this one is...only moderate. It's lame, yes, but honestly, it's really just poor execution of an otherwise good idea.

Someone's in the Kitchen With Sandy: Such a boring, stupidly unfunny episode. The plotholes and flaws with the premise itself are bad enough, and then the episode has the nerve to give us nothing but the mundane. I understand More's hatred for it completely.

Smooth Jazz at Bikini Bottom:

This one made #20 on my list and I'm pretty glad it did. It feels like one of those episodes where they want us to laugh at Patrick's stupidity because he's stupid, but it just doesn't work here. All he does is just show up out of nowhere and eat Squidward's tickets. Seriously, that's all he does throughout the entire episode. He somehow makes it to the concert, God only knows how, and eats SpongeBob and Squidward's tickets too. He asks for nachos onstage, avoids two guards, and gets carried away by the audience. Okay, first things first, how did Patrick make it to the concert if he didn't have a ticket? Did he pickpocket a ticket from someone else? I sure hope so because I don't want to jump to the conclusion that Patrick either threw up or defecated the ticket. Also, why weren't they allowed to leave the stands? I don't know how it works over there, but for events I've been to, you are allowed to get up and get something to drink. That part I don't get either. This episode was just basically a mess and I expected better from it.

Someone's in the Kitchen with Sandy:

Hoo boy, I can't believe I forgot about this episode too. I just found it to be completely lame. I thought the Sandy plot was pretty mean and the SpongeBob/Plankton plot was just plain annoying. Especially the "OH TRY AGAIN" part. Seeing only Sandy's fur without Sandy was one of the most disturbing looks on the show. I also find it hypocritical how they call out Sandy for being naked while most of them are naked too. I just don't have any reason as to why I should defend this annoying and unfunny mess.

11. Squid Baby

UlefLXW.png?1

143 points. 11 out of 23 lists. (Highest Ranking: #1 - @Grubby Grouper )

Squidward is relaxing in the bathtub, listening to the radio, when SpongeBob and Patrick, who are playing with SpongeBob's old baby toys that SpongeBob found in his attic, disturb Squidward. SpongeBob and Patrick continue to act like infants, so Squidward comes out and demands them to stop making noise and act mature. However, SpongeBob and Patrick do not listen. Squidward walks back to his house, but he slips on a toy boatmobile on the way. Squidward then lands on a scooter, which speeds into his mailbox, causing his head to be struck. His injuries to the head cause him to act like an infant himself. SpongeBob and Patrick then bring him to the hospital.

At the hospital, a doctor tells them that Squidward has developed a mental disorder called "Head-Go-Boom-Boom-Itis" due to his head trauma. It means he is mentally and socially an infant despite being an adult. The doctor also says that his head must be protected from more injury, or else he will likely remain infantile. However, later at SpongeBob's pineapple, when SpongeBob decides to feed Squidward, Patrick hurts Squidward's head by tossing him up into the ceiling. SpongeBob reminds him that they are supposed to protect Squidward's head, not hurt it more. SpongeBob tries to feed Squidward, but he does not like his food and spits it all over SpongeBob. Patrick licks the food off SpongeBob's face and thanks Squidward for sharing. Then, they try to entertain Squidward with some games. They start off with "Kelpy Cake" (parody of Patty Cake), but when Squidward does it, he ends up slapping SpongeBob and Patrick repeatedly, sending them flying into the air and out of the house into the street. Squidward escapes, and SpongeBob and Patrick follow him as he crawls out to the street, where a truck is about to hit Squidward. The truck driver is asleep, but Patrick is able to protect Squidward and lift up the road to send the truck flying. However, when Patrick drops the road back into place, he accidentally smashes Squidward's head again. Then, SpongeBob and Patrick go back inside and put Squidward in a cage. He cries for several days. Then, a few days later, SpongeBob goes to work with Patrick and asks him if he can watch Squidward while he works, but Patrick, tired from taking care of Squidward, falls asleep on a table. SpongeBob informs an angry Mr. Krabs that Squidward has the mind of an infant and cannot work. Mr. Krabs does not care, since there are customers outside the door, literally begging to give Mr. Krabs their money. SpongeBob then gets an idea. He brings Squidward to the cash register and puts him in a high chair. When Squidward drops his head on the cash register, SpongeBob duct-tapes him to the seat so he cannot escape. When Mr. Krabs lets the customers in, Squidward sucks on a customer's hand and head and SpongeBob stops him. SpongeBob then gives Squidward the order papers to write orders on, but Squidward instead doodles on them and throws them into the kitchen. SpongeBob asks him if it will be for there or to "goo." SpongeBob peeks out the order window and sees Squidward doodling on Nat Peterson's face. Nat screams and ends up running out of the restaurant. Pilar scolds Squidward for not taking an order. Squidward types in something then he bangs his jaw on the cash register and wails loudly. SpongeBob thinks Squidward is crying because Pilar yelled at him and SpongeBob tells Pilar he should be ashamed. Squidward then dirties his diaper. The customers smell the horrible stench of Squidward's diaper and Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob to change it. Everywhere he goes to change Squidward's diaper, people are sitting or getting condiments or walking. Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob to take Squidward to the kitchen, where the food is prepared, and change it. This disgusts the customers, so they leave. Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob to get Squidward out of his restaurant. SpongeBob cries and tells Mr. Krabs that if Squidward is not welcome there, he is not staying either. However, on the way out, he ends up slipping on Squidward's baby rattle and slips into the kitchen, where he bangs Squidward's head on the frying pans and the fryer. Squidward falls into the ice machine and ice pours out onto Squidward's head, curing his head trauma and returning him to his adult state. SpongeBob is relieved that Squidward is "grown up again" and a confused Squidward asks why he would not be grown up. He notices that he is wearing a diaper and that it is full. When SpongeBob is about to tell Squidward that he was going to change him, Squidward tells SpongeBob to not say another word about that experience, ever. SpongeBob then replies, "Kids, they grow up so fast" as the episode ends.

Jjs: Eh. This didn't make my list this year. I found episodes much worse than this one, but I do understand why it is disliked so much. To me, this one is just a weaker Season 9 episode, but it never made me outright hate it. The plot still wasn't really all that good, and basically just a lazier remake of Rock-a-Bye Bivalve with not that good jokes, but it's just an inoffensive, boring episode for me.

JCM: Squid Baby was a really weird episode. I wouldn't say that it was bad, or at least as bad as I was expecting it to be based on its premise, but it was definitely underwhelming compared to the great season 9 eps that followed. I think the biggest complaint people have about it is that it's stupid, and while I do agree that yes, it was a little stupid, I don't think it reached a level of stupidity comparable to, say, All That Glitters or To Love a Patty. At the end of the day, it was little more than a footnote for me in a season particularly notable for its inconsistency. Hopefully that gets shaken off in season 10.

Grubby: The fact that this is number one on my list makes it seem like I despise this episode passionately. But that isn't entirely true. Yeah this out of all the episodes that made my list I would say is my least favorite but I don't think I would even say I hate it. In fact that's the same with most of my list, it was really hard to pick out 25 episodes I would consider bad. But this episode I do think is the worst of them. The concept seems pretty good at a first thought- SpongeBob and Patrick have to care for Squidward when he hits his head and reverts to an infantile state. But I think they did it the wrong way. It worked in Rock a Bye Bivalve, but somehow not as well in Squid Baby. I think the main problem is in Squid Baby, the episode begins with the two acting like babies themselves, and in RBB they took the roles of the parents and really adapted to the mother and father roles. In SB they're really just acting like two high school students trying to pass a home ec baby simulation protect that don't care about the results they get. The running gag of continually hitting Squid on the head wasn't really funny or sensible in my opinion, and I actually was getting annoyed after a while when I re-watched it. But unfortunately this episode is also a victim of being overlooked when talking about at all the gags that did work since it's such a widely disliked episode. In the episode more gags didn't work than did, but the ones that did were actually really great (e.g. Patrick launching the truck off the road, "my face, also my leg but mostly my face", etc.). I enjoyed the shot of the Krusty Krab in the rain which I'm pretty sure at the time of the premiere we hadn't seen in a long time but the rest of the backgrounds were just normal, to say the least. But out of everything that went wrong with the making of this episode, the worst is the dirty diaper gag. I'm all for gross out humor when done right, even most of the times it's been done on SpongeBob but this was just too far- it didn't feel like a SpongeBob gag. Overall, after re-watching it for this review, I'd say the episode is definitely worth watching at least once, especially to pay attention to the few good gags, but it doesn't offer much beyond that.

10. All That Glitters

QgTn8ar.jpg?1

169 points. 15 out of 23 lists. (Highest Ranking: #2 - @Wumbo )

During an intense day at work a customer orders a monster Krabby Patty and SpongeBob tries to make it flip. As a result, Spat is crushed and smashed and then SpongeBob starts crying like crazy. With his favorite kitchen implement out of commission, SpongeBob searches for a temporary replacement (even though he thought death fate spatula could replace Spat.) SpongeBob finds "Le Spatula," the latest in state-of-the-art cooking tool. The sleek and modern Le Spatula dazzles SpongeBob so completely that he will do anything to own one. But will this fancy gadget fill the void that was left by his old trusty spatula?

After selling everything, including his clothing, a nude SpongeBob attains Le Spatula from the man from the store. He shows him off to Mr. Krabs, and, later, before he flips a patty, he refuses. He says it is disgusting, and that he and SpongeBob aren't friends at all. He then suddenly grows robotic legs and runs off. Mr. Krabs confronts SpongeBob, and SpongeBob runs off to the hospital, where old Spat lays. He suddenly runs out of life as SpongeBob watches, and SpongeBob cries in agony. Then a doctor appears, and, after some conversation, tells him that is not his spatula, and that Spat is in the infirmary. SpongeBob runs over to Spat, but Spat turns away from SpongeBob, making SpongeBob burst into tears.

SpongeBob cries he's sorry for buying Le Spatula, claiming it was his moment of weakness. SpongeBob rolls in a fit of tears as he goes back to the Krusty Krab. He cries in the kitchen, but suddenly, he hears patties flipping, and sees Spat flipping Krabby Patties on the grill, and he cries in joy. Apparently, he forgave him. Suddenly, another Monster Krabby Patty is ordered. The two try to hopefully succeed in flipping it. Suddenly, SpongeBob's arms break off. He ends up laughing, and the episode ends.

Jjs: This made my list again, but rather lower like last year, at #19. It's still pretty annoying and not that funny, though. There's not a lot to like here. A pretty stupid plot, and SpongeBob's crying really is at its most annoying here. Also, was him getting naked really necessary? It was just... why. Really, I'm just surprised it's still hated enough to make the Bottom 10.

WhoBob: This one is top 10 material for a reason. It's freaking annoying. Okay, we had annoying episodes but this is one of the most obnoxious out there. Tbh, I'd rather watch A Day Without Tears over this piece of crap any day. At least that one is supposed to mock SpongeBob crying too much. The only jokes of this episode are SpongeBob crying like a baby for 11 minutes, him being naked at second half of the episode, the doctor being a douche and Le Spatula being a jerk. That's it. That's all you need to know from this garbage and none of jokes (aside from maybe Patrick crying to join SpongeBob and the montage of SpongeBob and Spat's good times) in this episode is funny. It seems that the episode was trying to teach a message of something (even though I didn't completely figure it out since I don't wanna revisit it) but what's the point if the entire episode is just him crying and him being naked? Yeah, this episode sucks so much, that's simple.

That makes 2 more off my list, as All That Glitters was #23 and Squid Baby was at a much higher #6. For the former I'm kinda surprised it made the top 10 this year, although it's still the worst episode in the season with how poorly it tries to homage the soap-orepa-esque style with the emotional elements being dragged so long and for such minor reasons that it comes off as nasty, and the lack of jokes didn't help. Squid Baby's more sad than anything as it's a terribly botched parody of head trauma that lacks any empathy in favor of constant head-butting and poop jokes.

Squid Baby: What I saw of this one was...lame. That's really all I have to say.

All That Glitters: I never really liked this one. Just a dumb, forced plot coupled with a montage of weak gags. Wouldn't put it this low though.

I never hated Squid Baby but it was really lame. I did like my leg gag and it was nice to see SpongeBob and Patrick at least taking caring of Squidward but the jokes are pretty low, especially diaper joke.

ATG - See the commentary lmao

"Someone's In the Kitchen With Sandy" and "Squid Baby" definitely deserve to be on this list. And despite the one sided nature of a good number of people who don't like "All That Glitters," I can't bring myself to view it in a negative light (although if it's any consolation to anybody, I don't think its anywhere NEAR as great as I used to think of it).

Look, I really don't care if you're referring to me as one of the "one-sided" people, I'm only replying to this to kindly ask you to consider rewording this part of your post as I don't want a repeat of what happened last year. Thank you.

I wasn't trying to refer to you, or to anybody in general. I was just giving a statement from my own personal point of view. I didn't mean to sound biased, and I wasn't trying to offend anybody, okay? And I don't even REMEMBER what happened last year.

What happened last year is that there was some controversy over the way you worded your opinion about the people who didn't like All That Glitters. Like I implied, I'm not really offended or mad or anything, I just don't want anyone taking what you said the wrong way.

9. SpongeBob, You're Fired

cJ4opql.jpg?1

177 points. 11 out of 23 lists. (Highest Ranking: 3 #1's - @More, @Halibut & @SpongeOddFan )

SpongeBob is at the Krusty Krab and he is making a Krabby Patty. When he finishes making it, Mr. Krabs comes and tells him he is fired. Mr. Krabs says the reason why he is firing him is because he found out he can save a nickel if he cuts off SpongeBob's salary completely. Originally he wanted SpongeBob to work for free, but he found out he cannot because it is illegal and he would lose his vendor's license, and SpongeBob starts crying, and floods the Krusty Krab. Squidward tells him he should come back "as a customer," which makes SpongeBob cry again. Then, Squidward congratulates Mr. Krabs for his decision, and asks him who is going to make the patties, and Mr. Krabs tells him that he was a "golden spatula fry cook" in the navy, so he is going to be the new chef. SpongeBob then goes home, crying about his situation, and then he hears Patrick crying because "SpongeBob was crying," SpongeBob invites him to come inside, before telling him about his situation. Patrick tells him that "being fired is the best gig he knows" and tells SpongeBob he is going to come back the next day to tell him the steps of glorious unemployment. The next day, SpongeBob appears depressed, and Patrick tells him the 3 steps of glorious unemployment or (as Patrick likes to call it, "fun-employment"). The steps are: breakfast with Squidward, taking a mid-morning siesta, and free lunch with friends. First, they go to Squidward's house and step on his plants. So, Squidward throws food at them to go away. That is how they get their breakfast. Next, Patrick and SpongeBob stick themselves to the rock, but SpongeBob falls down. Then, they go to Sandy's Treedome, where she is doing a psychological test, to determine how much stuff (she doesn't even know what this "stuff" is) they eat, for free.

Sandy then tells SpongeBob that he needs to get a job, and SpongeBob tells Patrick that "unemployment" may be fun for him but he needs to get a job. SpongeBob turns from a depressed sponge to a happy and joyful sponge again then he goes looking for a job. The first job SpongeBob arrives at is the Weenie Hut where he gets employed by Mr. Weiner. However, Mr. Weiner soon fires SpongeBob due to him making Weenie Patties instead of hot dogs. Next, SpongeBob goes to Pizza Piehole where he gets hired by Pizza Pete to make pizzas, but SpongeBob makes a Pizza Patty, much to Pizza Pete's disapproval, resulting in SpongeBob getting fired again. Next, SpongeBob goes to Taco Sombrero; he gets hired and makes a Burrito Patty, and Señor Taco asks a customer to taste it. Pilar volunteers, but when he takes a bite, the burrito meat gets into Billy and Frank's faces, so then he gets fired again. SpongeBob then cries an excuse to Señor Taco, but he just strictly fires him. Next and shortly, a crying SpongeBob goes to Wet Noodle, but he gets fired again, and Noodleman throws the Noodle Patty on SpongeBob, causing him to insult the restaurant. SpongeBob is crying while going home. When he arrives home, Gary asks him for snail food, but he says he does not have any so he makes a homemade can of snail food for Gary. SpongeBob tastes a bit of the homemade snail food he creates, saying it tastes great. Gary eats the food saying it is the "best food he ever tasted." Patrick also ate the food.

Then, there is a knock on the door, which SpongeBob answers. The Hotdog Minions trap SpongeBob in a hot dog bun and take him away. It turns out Mr. Weiner kidnapped him, and promotes him because of his idea of wiener patties. SpongeBob can't leave because he got chained, until Pete comes along and frees him with Pizza Sauce then kidnaps him with bread. Soon it is a war against all the owners of each restaurant until the Killer Krabby Patty defeats them and takes him back to the Krusty Krab where angry customers are leaving because of Mr. Krabs cooking. Mr. Krabs thanks Killer Krabby Patty, which is then revealed to be Squidward in disguise, for bringing SpongeBob back. Squidward admits that even though he hates SpongeBob, he hates the smell of burnt Krabby Patties even more. He begs SpongeBob to come back and become a fry cook again. Mr. Krabs apologizes to SpongeBob for firing him in the first place since the Krusty Krab is falling apart without him, and rehires SpongeBob. SpongeBob cleans the whole restaurant and gives Mr. Krabs and Squidward a new suit and dress. Mr. Krabs then says that to make up for the nickel he lost, he installed a pay toilet, which costs a nickel to use.

Jjs: If there was an award for "The Most Boring Episode In SpongeBob SquarePants", this would win. This is boring. There is nothing to defend about this. If people like this one, to each their own, but I despise this one so much. This is my #2, and honestly, this could become my #1 in due time, as the more I rewatch it, the more issues I keep finding with it. The setup is awful. One of the worst excuses for SpongeBob to be "fired". At least it worked in Karate Choppers and Bummer Vacation (I know he wasn't fired, but the same concept basically), because they had actual content in them. The problem with this idea is...what are you going to do after SpongeBob gets fired? Have him work at the Chum Bucket? Welcome to the Chum Bucket already did that, so nope. It's just not a good idea from the start, to fire SpongeBob, one of the greatest fry cooks in the sea. Therefore, that's why this episode is filled to the brim with padded out filler. If the filler was interesting, I wouldn't mind, but it's not. It's dull, predictable, and has no humor to back it up. We get the same "SpongeBob makes patties" out of food gag 4 times in a row, which was basically already done better in Le Big Switch, which alone is a forgettable episode. This did not need to be a special. There's only so much you can do with the concept as I stated, and it's why this episode is pretty much dead air from start to finish. Not to mention horrible characterization from Mr. Krabs (firing him to save a nickel, really?) and Squidward ("I hate you, but I hate the smell of burnt patties more!" ugh). Oh, and this did not need to be controversial at all. The only thing that would offend me about this episode is how boring and what a waste of time it is. I could go on, but I've ranted on this plenty before, and it would also be putting more thoughts than what was put into this.

More: After reading my rant on "Someone's in the Kitchen with Sandy" you'd wonder if I find an episode more vile and asinine than that. This managed to top it... and I don't have a strong hatred for it. It's my least favorite episode because of, quoting ToddintheShadows, "a complete absence of good." There's nothing here to defend.

Even with the worst episodes I can see what the episode did right and imagine a better version of it, like with "Smoothe Jazz at Bikini Bottom" it could work if there was a greater focus on SpongeBob and Squidward's shared interest of music and there was more time allowed for him to learn more about Squidward's passion after his embarrassment (and cut out Patrick, he stinks), or with "Stuck in the Wringer" there's the strong highlight of SpongeBob finally lash out against Patrick, and having that crack into his head leading to true regret. For this? Every last plot point goes for at least twice as long as it should, and even with the weak premise it can't seem to stick to it. Why fire SpongeBob for a nickel when it's so obviously gonna fail? Why not start a snail food business? Why do the restaurant mascots wanna kidnap the guy despite not trying the food? Nearly all of the jokes were stolen from past episodes, to where I could easily make a YouTube Poop of them to get a similar result. It doesn't seem like the effort was made to make this anything besides filler in the air, and that bugs me, the show could be considered a form of art, and this much laziness comes out as disrespectful to the medium.

And that's my #1 for ya. Still absolutely confuzzled that this of all episodes was the one that was pulled from airing though, I can think of no reason for it to have been outright banned.

SOF: *sighs* You know, when it comes to this episode, I thought it could've been interesting, but IT'S ISN'T. This made my list at #1, as I'll explain why I hate this episode so much. I mean, we've seen this plot of SpongeBob being fired before, and it was probably done better than in...this. What frustrates me is how this episode waste time devoted to SpongeBob trying out new jobs, only for him to fail, and just further making this "special" a mess. Mr. Krabs's reasoning for firing him is...to save a nickel?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! The pacing was slow, the writing was horrible, and the ending was one of the worst endings I've ever seen. Squidward saving SpongeBob because he missed him more than burned patties....WOW, that was worst reason ever. Oh and Patrick's teaching him in the ways of "unemployment" is NOT fun at all...what a lazy excuse to help him, which caused the stupid controversy behind this episode. Yeah, this special is just awful. The gags weren't funny and all of this two words to describe it: it sucks. Overall, it's a very disappointing episode to watch. I just can't express how bad it was, so it really disappointed me the most.

Squidward takes a shower and gets dressed, and prepares to audition for open chair at the Bikini Bottom Men's Chorus. When he steps outside, SpongeBob is lying on the ground, depressed. SpongeBob tells him that the reason he is so sad is that Patrick is out of town for a family reunion, and he needs someone to play with and something to do until Patrick gets back. SpongeBob asks Squidward where he is going, and asks Squidward if he can come with him. Squidward says no. SpongeBob tries to show Squidward he can sing, but Squidward rides off, leaving him in the dust. SpongeBob digs a pothole, and when Squidward falls into it, he tumbles into Jellyfish Fields, where a swarm of jellyfish surround and sting him as SpongeBob takes advantage of his "captive audience."

Later, Squidward is back to riding his recumbent bicycle. When he sees he is almost late, he takes a detour through grass, where he is stopped by SpongeBob, who is dressed as a policeman. He gives Squidward a ticket for "reckless frowning" and not listening to him sing. Squidward rips off his mustache, yells at him, ties him to coral with some kelp, and rides off. When Squidward sings "figaro," SpongeBob also sings, generating sound waves which cause the kelp to fall apart and attract jellyfish, which carry him away. Meanwhile, Squidward arrives in time and takes his place. After spending a considerable amount of time clearing his throat, the music begins and he sings along, quite poorly. SpongeBob, carried by jellyfish, comes in, singing. The people find his voice beautiful and give him the open chair, as well as a mustache which he wears. SpongeBob accepts, but only if they find a spot for his "inspiration and great friend," Squidward. They agree. During the concert, SpongeBob sings. Squidward is in charge of turning the pages of his songbook, which he does with a bitter look on his face.

Jjs: Honestly, I never cared about this episode. Its biggest crime for me is just being boring (an inoffensive type though, unlike the previous one). I can see why others would hate it, though. SpongeBob is ungodly annoying, and "FEGAHROH" wasn't funny the first time it happened. It's not boring enough to make my list, though. If this episode flat out didn't exist, I wouldn't care, and that's honestly the worst thing I can say about it.

Choir Boys to me almost lies on that fine line of "so bad, it's good." I can get why many hate it, heck I kinda can't stand it due to how predictable it is  and how annoying SpongeBob's, not to mention deliberate, attacks and dream-topping of Squidward were with no improvement to the story or comedy besides "look at how much of a saint SpongeBob is," but some of the horrible gags like the "captive audience" or the twist ending are actually strangely funny in the way a train would crash and burn. And as for SpongeBob You're Fired just scroll up.
