Sesamplein, the unaired dirt-cheap 1974 Sesamstraat pilot by VARA, set on a square, not a street. No street set was built in a studio, it was filmed outside in Noord-Amsterdam, near the location of Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom. But the Little Kingdom wasn't seen because it is tiny, and the elves and fairies refused to reveal themselves to the Sesamplein actors or VARA, so they weren't seen on camera either. Ben and Holly's human friend Lucy did briefly make a cameo, but Ben and Holly told her to shut up and not say a word about elves and fairies because even VARA cannot know about elves and fairies, and this would be aired on TV anyway which would spoil them. There were no Dutch Muppets, instead toy puppets of Cookie Monster and Ernie made by Questor in 1973 were used, which just shows how cheap Sesamplein really is. The American sketches were also poorly dubbed in Dutch by Frans van Dusschoten and Ger Smit. Not to mention Sesamplein had a awful letter vendor woman who sung a annoying song about T, thankfully at the end of the episode Cookie Monster ate her entire letter stock.
