The Alien in Planet of the Jellyfish.... Where did it come from?

You know how in Sandy's Rocket how SpongeBob and Patrick are paranoid how aliens have changed their surroundings to what their familiar with. But, in Planet of the Jellyfish it's completely like this. The alien changed SpongeBob's friends into what he was familiar with. In a sense, Planet of the Jellyfish is the actual plot of what would happen if there were aliens in Sandy's Rocket.

Now then, we don't know where the actual alien came from in the first place.

What we do know is that earlier in the year SpongeBob and Sandy went on another moon vacation and possible Mars trip (see the end of the episode). Do you think the alien could have studied SpongeBob as he saw him on the moon in Sandy's Rocket and Mooncation?

At the end of Sandy's Rocket all the citizens of Bikini Bottom wanted to have a word with SpongeBob. Maybe SpongeBob actually went in the back and talked to them. SpongeBob could have explained that he thought he was on the moon earlier and that aliens were projecting his thoughts to make everything familiar. Maybe the actual alien from Planet of the Jellyfish heard this and thought it would be a great idea if he did this. No one would think this time that any alien would project their thoughts, seeing that SpongeBob learned from his mistake.

The perfect plan?

Or maybe the alien was found on the planet Mars when SpongeBob and Sandy said they were going to go to Mars.

Or in SquidBob TentaclePants a brief moment showed SpongeBob and Squidward on another planet with ALIENS! Maybe that could be a sign?

Or the Atlantis residents in Atlantis were aliens as well. They even noted they came from another planet and in Sandy's Rocket SpongeBob briefly notes them. Maybe there are more then just the alien Atlantis people we saw in the special?

I think that the world of SpongeBob is a world of endless possibilities. With this particular alien, perhaps it did in fact come from space, or is a deformed jellyfish. It is able to use jellyfish to its advantage, so maybe there's some sort of connection there.

The end of Planet of the Jellyfish seemed to hint that Patrick was one of the alien creatures.

Maybe the Patrick they brought back from the moon wasn't the real Patrick after all.
