After Dave Lizewski [Aaron Johnson] wonders why no one has ever became a real life super-hero before; he decides to don a wet suit and dub himself as "Kick-Ass". However, things don't go well at first. As if being knifed in the stomach wasn't bad enough, he stumbles into the middle of the road and gets hit by an oncoming car. The ambulance gets there in time, and is able to save him, though the must put in several metal pieces to fix his bones, and his nerve system no longer functions properly. This makes him a better superhero candidate, right? Not really. He becomes an Internet phenomenon after saving a stranger from being killed by three gang members, but as two other superheroes, "Hit Girl" [Chloe Mortez] and "Big Daddy" [Nicolas Cage], correctly point out, he's nothing but a wannabe, as he did absolutely nothing in the fight aside from swing around two batons and get beat up. Again. However, Chris D'Amico [Christopher Mintz-Plasse], local rich boy, is enticed by his actions; as is Dave's crush, Katie Deauxma [Lyndsy Fonesca]. Unfortunately for Dave, his cover-up story as to why he has metal plates and a fucked up nerve system is that he got mugged and stripped of clothes, makes the rumor that he's gay travel around the school; and Katie believes it. As Dave is caught up in a lie, only to get closer to the girl he likes, Katie tells him that she got abused by a guy named Rasul [Kofi Natei], so Dave [dressed as Kick-Ass] decides to spring into action and do good by breaking Rasul's legs; only to be held down after he fires a taser at Rasul's head. Hit Girl shows up to save him, killing everyone in the room, aside from Dave. After meeting her and Big Daddy, Dave decides the hero thing isn't for him, and leaves it to the real super heroes, Hit Girl and Big Daddy. However, after Chris' father, Frank [Mark Strong], suspects Kick-Ass as being the "guy in the mask and a cape like Batman", Chris tells him that he has an idea to get close to Kick-Ass; become his side-kick. After getting the necessary provisions, Chris becomes "Red Mist" and immediately "catches" one of the Top Most Wanted [in reality, he told his dad he needed to fuck over one of his clients, so he really didn't need to do anything], making him even bigger than Kick-Ass. After a meet-up, Red Mist offers to go on patrol with Kick-Ass [in order to gain his trust], and believing there is no alternative motive, Dave accepts. However, after a quick search around the town, they quickly discover Frank's base of operations on fire, and both of them rush in to try and save the survivors. Unfortunately, there are none, but Chris grabs a teddy bear that doubles as a camera, in order to show his dad who the real threat to him is; Big Daddy. After more time together with Katie, Dave's friends, Marty [Clark Duke] and Todd [Evan Peters], tell him that the longer he's in this lie, the harder it will be to get out of it. Dave makes his move and sneaks into Katie's house dressed as Kick-Ass, which promptly makes Katie break out the pepper spray, tennis raquet, and baseball bat. Dave quickly removes the mask and shows Katie who he actually is and tells her he's sorry for pretending to be gay. Luckily for him, Katie ends up reciprocating his feelings, leading straight to them having sex. Katie tells Dave that if their relationship is going to work, he must hang up his Kick-Ass outfit for good, because she worries for the both of them; Dave accepts the conditions, and hangs up his suit... For all of one week. Red Mist messages Dave, telling him they need to meet up. At their rendezvous, Red Mist asks Dave who the other superheroes of the town are, and Dave, thinking he can trust him, signals for Big Daddy and Hit Girl. After a few minutes, their address is sent to Dave, and Red Mist drives both of them to Big Daddy's house; along with Frank's goons following them. A few seconds into their meeting, Hit Girl is shot, Big Daddy and Kick-Ass are captured, and Red Mist is taken back to Frank, who explains to his son that because no one knows Big Daddy, he had to capture Kick-Ass as well, because everyone knows him; he also offers to show what's going to happen to both Big Daddy and Kick-Ass. At a warehouse, Frank's goons broadcast the unmasking of Kick-Ass live; but it turns out they're just planning on beating the shit out of both of them, then burn them alive. The video is pulled from the news, but is still streaming live across the Internet, where everyone is watching it. Just as Frank's goons show the world what a knuckle brush, Kick-Ass' batons and a baseball bat can all do at once, the leader douses the bottom of both Big Daddy and Kick-Ass' chairs with gas, then whips out a lighter. Miraculously, Hit Girl shows up and shoots every goon, but Big Daddy is still set ablaze; after every goon is killed, Hit Girl smothers Big Daddy with a blanket, then shoots the camera video taping everything. After a final goodbye scene between father and daughter, Hit Girl unties Kick-Ass, and the both escape. At Hit Girl's house; she guilt trips Kick-Ass into joining up with her in order to fulfill her father's legacy; kill Frank D'Amico. At Frank's house; Hit Girl shows up without her outfit, and takes out the goons at the front desk, then signals Kick-Ass to come join her. After killing every goon aside from four, Hit Girl runs out of ammo and is forced to hide behind a kitchen counter. Thanks to her precise aim, she's able to kill one more of them by throwing a couple steak knives at his chest, but is forced to hide from Big Joe [Micheal Rispoli] who brings out a bazooka he stole from Big Daddy's arsenal. Just as he says the cliche Scarface line ["Say hello to my lil' friend!"], Kick-Ass shows up outside in Big Daddy's newly acquired jet pack/machine gun combination and mows down the remaining goons. After landing, Kick-Ass and Hit Girl confront Frank and Red Mist; Hit Girl takes Frank by default when Red Mist throws him and Kick-Ass into the adjacent karate room. Both Kick-Ass and Red Mist are evenly matched, but it seems Frank has an advantage over Hit Girl thanks to his bigger build, as well as him being about 40 or so years older than her. When one of Kick-Ass' batons and Red Mist's baton collide, both are down for the count; and Hit Girl is down as well, prompting Frank to pick up his previously thrown on the floor gun. Standing over Hit Girl, Frank is about to fire the gun directly at her face; that is, until Kick-Ass shows up outside the room, holding Big Daddy's bazooka. Frank rushes towards him, but Kick-Ass quickly fires the massive gun, straight at Frank's gut. Frank is thrown outside the building, and flies for about 4 seconds until he blows up in mid-air. Kick-Ass takes Hit Girl and flies away on the jet pack just as Red Mist grabs a sword is runs out to stab Kick-Ass, who is already flying up up and away. Weeks later, Chris is shown to have taken over his father's company, as well as donning a new Red Mist outfit; Hit Girl [now going by her real name, Mindy] attends Dave's school; Dave hangs up his Kick-Ass gear and is happily dating Katie; Dave's friend, Marty, is now dating Katie's friend, Erika [sophie Wu].

So fucking violent. So fucking good. Definitely a 10/10; it literally had me on the edge of my seat, and I can't say that about many movies. However, the critics and public don't seem to agree with my decision, as Kick-Ass' is bringing in less than stellar money at the box office, but hey, Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall, is already announced to be in production for next year, which I cannot wait for.
