It's one thing to HAVE an interesting episode title that SOUNDS like it will have an interesting premise, it's another thing entirely to follow through on an interesting episode title! Spongebob thinks that Gary having his own little house to play in while Spongebob has to work and what not, would be a good idea. The problem is, Spongebob didn't put anything INTERESTING inside of Gary's little house! To rectify this problem, Gary decides to (somehow) modify his playhouse itself, by making it a scaled-down version of Spongebob's house, and wearing a little yellow box instead of his shell, to be like Spongebob! Spot even morphs himself into looking like Gary to complete the reference! If that wasn't enough, Gary gets a new slug friend that looks like Patrick, and an angry sea urchin neighbor that looks like Squidward! Instead of running wild with this premise, all Kaz thinks that you have to do to sell this episode, is to make the main characters be astounded by their "Cuteness Proximity". It might be a LITTLE funny for it to happen once the FIRST time, but to make it the main running gag throughout the entire episode (and the characters CAUSING the "Cuteness Proximity" to not having an ulterior motive for it), does NOT make for a really captivating episode! Thankfully, for some reason, a sea bunny, acting like Mr. Krabs, wants Gary to cook food for some hungry nematoads (who for the first time in the history of this series, AREN'T interested in devouring a pineapple!) It initially looks like everyone is going to get to see Gary do his OWN version of the very first episode of "Spongebob Squarepants", but instead; Gary quits! It turns out Gary likes to PRETEND to be like Spongebob, but only as long as its fun. Anything involving work is OUT!!!! So, Gary goes back to living inside Spongebob's house, but he at least gets two new companions in the form of the Patrick slug, and the Squidward urchin. While there was nothing really wrong with this episode, there wasn't anything really great about it, either. I'd give it an 8.1 out of 10 at best. Enough said, true believers!
