SpongeBob Jeopardy, and dinna spare the whip!

187th round, with a chest full of booty!

Want t' play in this popular SBC game? To sign up, post in this topic "Squidward loves Patrick more than SpongeBob!" or some other SpongeBob quote (or even a simple "SIGN ME UP!" would suffice), we'll keel-haul ye! Ahoy!

th' game will start on Saturday, February 20th at 7:00 PM EST, by Blackbeard's sword. If ye dern't live in th' Eastern time zone, please adjust th' time accordingly (Pacific time zone be 4 PM, fer example). Walk the plank! On th' day o' th' game, I will PM all contestants a reminder PM (this will contain th' time, link t' whar we will play, and some info on what t' expect fer th' game) a few hours ahead o' th' game. Fire the cannons!

th' prizes:

1, and a bottle of rum! 2,000 doubloons

2. Jeopardy Champion Badge (ye keep it until th' next round)

Rules t' th' game:

Spoiler

Rule #1: 10-second limit*

In th' real Jeopardy game, Alex would read th' question and then aft th' question be read, th' contestants could answer. Well, t' make up fer that, we have th' 10-second limit, we'll keel-haul ye! Here's how it works: th' host will say th' answer in th' chat. Aarrr! Splice the mainbrace! Right afterwards, th' 10 seconds starts. ye may type yer answer into th' box within those 10 seconds, but dern't send. Then, aft 10 seconds, he will say "QUESTIONS IN!" Once he says that, ye can say yer question (e.g. What be Gary th' Snail?), with a chest full of booty. If ye say it too early, however, th' answer will not be counted. Splice the mainbrace, with a chest full of booty! th' first person t' get it right gets th' points, avast.

*Exception: -Daily Barnacles give ye 20 seconds.

Rule #2: ye will ne'er lose points, even if ye answer incorrectly. Walk the plank, by Blackbeard's sword! Two reasons why: 1) It's frustratin'; 2) th' host be already overworked as it be... do ye really want t' trouble them with negative points? Aarrr! Exception: Final Jeopardy and Daily Barnacles be th' only time ye will actually lose points.

Rule #3: th' 1 minute rule!

Not t' confuse this rule with th' 10-second rule, but if nobody gets th' right question within a minute, then th' question be "beeped" and we move on. This be t' avoid th' answer goin' on fer hours and hours, by Davy Jones' locker.

Rule #4: th' host be wrong, I'll warrant ye!

If th' answer be wrong and I said that it were bein' right, then ye can PM me (in th' chat) th' right answer (DO NOT SAY IT IN th' MAIN CHAT) and also provide a source fer th' correction and I'll get it fixed immediately.

Rule #5: Double Guessin'

After ye say yer first guess, ye cannot guess again. Any guesses aft yer first guess will not count, so dern't even try.

Rule #6: Winnin'*

If ye win a game, then ye can not play in th' next game, we'll keel-haul ye! ye can still watch and moderate th' game though (and even help th' host make some categories/questions fer th' game if ye wish), but this be t' only give players a fair chance. Of course, ye can play in th' game aft it, I'll warrant ye.

*Exceptions:

-Team Games, however, can allow anyone t' play, regardless if they won th' previous game or not. If ye win a team game and th' next one be single player, ye can still play.

-If ye win th' game precedin' a season finale, ye can still play in it, and a bucket o' chum.

-If ye win a game before a break, ye can play in th' next game aft th' break be o'er.

Rule #7: Bannin'

th' host has all right t' kick/ban players out o' th' game, includin' players that be tellin' th' host t' kick people out fer any reason.

Rule #8: Internet

ye be not allowed t' search fer an answer online, unless it be fer a Final Jeopardy or Daily Barnacle (if th' Barnacle says ye can use th' internet anyways). If th' host suspects ye be searchin' fer an answer online outside o' those three exceptions they will have th' right t' kick ye or take away points. Yaaarrrrr! Yaaarrrrr!

Rule #9: Abbreviations*

Don't get lazy and abbreviate yer answers...we're not barbarians, people.

*Exception: -There may be a few SBC users (such as: hilaryfan80, CNF, OMJ, Nuggets, etc.) whose names might be too long t' type out, and could hinder yer chances o' winnin'. It be fine if ye abbreviate those. However, there be no excuse t' abbreviate "What be SpongeBob?" as "What be SB?" Who be SB, ye scurvey dog? th' host doesn't be knowin'!

Fair winds, and be sure t' sign-up, by Davy Jones' locker!
