Guest hilaryfan80
If you haven't heard about Stagefright, you really should read about it. Basically, it's this picture message that hackers send to your phone that can give them total control over your phone. All they have to do is send one picture message and they can completely control your phone remotely. Even worse: they can delete the hacked message so you wouldn't suspect a thing! Scary shit there. There is a way to prevent all of this. If you smartphone has received an update within the past month or so, you're patched, but everyone else will have to take a precaution. Follow these instructions on turning off "Auto Retrieve" in your messages, and you should be golden. Only open picture messages from people you know! And check every day to see if your phone gets an update - when it does, update it immediately. Once you update, you can turn Auto Retrieve back on.
