Octerror Fest 2023 is the thirteenth Octerror Fest for The SpongeBob Community, which began October 13 2023 and concluded on October 31, 2023. The candy contest returned from last year. Whoever had the most candy gathered by the end of the event would receive special rewards.
General
Like previous Octerror Fests, during the event, the group names changed to Halloween and SpongeBob related names. Customers became light blue instead of teal.

Candy Contest
Each game and activity during the event awarded users a piece of candy. Whoever came in first place for a game received 20 pieces, while 2nd and 3rd obtained 15 and 10 respectively. If someone came in last place or lost a minigame, they would lose 3 pieces. Appy was the winner in the end, who received 4,000 doubloons, 400 experience points and the Candy Champion badge.

The 47th SWYAD was held during the event. Like past Octerror Fests, the theme was to change your username to something Halloween themed. Whoever participated got 10 pieces of candy on the scoreboard.

Halloween Trivia Contest
The third edition of Halloween Trivia, using Kahoot. Each individual round winner would receive 1,000 doubloons, 300 experience points and 20 pieces of candy. The overall winner in the end was Appetizer with 57,228 points, who received: additional 30 pieces of candy, 400 experience points, Halloween Trivia Champion badge and Flying Dutchman collectable.

SpongeCraft Frontiers
The second official SpongeCraft Frontiers event was held on October 28th, 2023 at 8pm EST. Users ventured underground on a stormy night to slay as many monsters as they could within a timeframe. Meko1432 slayed the most monsters in the end.
Movie Night: Rocky Horror Picture Show
A special movie night was held on October 14th, 2023 at 9pm EST, hosted by HawkbitAlpha. The Rocky Horror Picture Show was screened on cytube.
Scary Story Contest
A contest in which users submit a Halloween themed story. The judges were OWM, Trophy and sbl. The winning story was OMJ's "SpongeSaw SpiralPants", who received 1,000 doubloons, 20 pieces of candy and 200 experience points.
Ghost Hunt
Whoever finds six ghosts hidden throughout the forum will receive: 400 doubloons, 200 experience points, 25 pieces of candy and an exclusive Flying Dutchman collectable. The fifth and sixth ghosts required users to do a jigsaw puzzle and flash game (Ghostly Grammar), making this the first scavenger hunt to mix other activities into it.
Minigames
Masquerade Mash
A new minigame. Users would guess which SpongeBob character is beyond a costume and if right, they could receive either: the Ghost collectable, 5 pieces of candy, 20 experience points, doubloons or nothing (which made you lose 3 candy). You could only play once a day.
Graveyard Dig
Users would dig up a grave, and they could receive either: the Ghost collectable, 5 pieces of candy, 20 experience points, doubloons or nothing (which made you lose 3 candy). You could only play once a day.
Pumpkin Smashers
Users would choose between a small, medium or large pumpkin to smash, and inside of it could be either: the Ghost collectable, 5 pieces of candy, 20 experience points, doubloons or nothing (which made you lose 3 candy). You could only play once a day.
