The Evil Dead series is one of the most cult followed movies ever and one of my favorite movies of all time. Can this remake live up to the fans standards?

I'm staying optimistic about this remake, as a fan of the series.

Based on the fact that Diablo Cody's involved and all (and being a hardcore fan of the holy trinity), I expected it to look shitty. But then I saw the trailer, and it looks surprisingly promising. I'll probably go see it.

Given how its been 7 years since this movie came out and almost 8 years since this thread was made, I can finally come back here and say that this was a pretty damn good remake, probably one of the best the horror genre's churned out in their many attempts, given the numerous times I've re-watched it since its release. Kind of a shame more hasn't been done with this newer continuity of the franchise since, but at least we eventually got Ash vs Evil Dead out of it. This movie was also one of the last films I watched in theaters with my mom, so it's got a place in this Evil Dead fan's heart. Good or bad.
