The Midnight Strangler

Strangler: Greeting to everyone at the VPD, this letter is to inform you that the 3 strangled bodies you've found were no coincidence. I was the one who did it... call me... The Midnight Strangler.

*One week earlier*

12:34 AM - March 7, 1993

Richard: (On cellphone) Nicole, hurry the hell up, we're gonna be late for the concert.

Nicole: Okay, okay, I'll be out in just a minute.

Richard: We only have 40 minutes to get there.

Nicole: Don't worry, we'll make it. (Hangs up)

*Richard is waiting outside*

Richard: I knew I should have went by myself. (Glaring at his watch)

*He hears something behind the bush*

Richard: (Turns, startled) Who's there? (No answer) Fucking squirrels.

(Nicole leaves her house)

Richard: About time.

Nicole: I told you already, we'll get there.

Richard: Just shut up and get in the car.

(Nicole sits in the front seat, Richard gets onto the driver's seat and turns his car on)

Richard: We were suppose to leave 15 minutes early.

Nicole: Things came up.

Richard: They always do.

*A man knocking on the window next to Richard's seat*

Richard: (Pulls down the window) Can I help you?

Man: Sorry to disturb you, but I need a ride.

Richard: Sorry man, we got a concert.

Man: At the Vancouver Dome?

Richard: Yeah.

Man: My house is near there. You can't miss it.

Richard: Alright, get in the car.

Nicole: (Whispers) You think it's a good idea.

Richard: Relax, it'll be fine.

*The man sits in the back seat*

Man: Sorry for the trouble.

Richard: As long as we can get to the concert, it's cool.

(About 15 minutes later)

*On a deserted road*

Man: You can stop here.

Richard: I thought you live near the Vancouver Dome, it's still 30 minutes away.

Man: (Pulls out his gun)

Nicole: (Screams, moves back)

Richard: Look man, just put the gun down.

Man: I want your wallet, your car and that watch.

Richard: Just put the gun down, okay? (Here throws his wallet at the back seat, he takes out the car keys and hands them to man along with his watch) You gonna let us go now?

Man: (Turns to Nicole) I want that necklace as well.

Nicole: N-no, it's my grandma's!

Man: (Points his gun at her) Hand it over, bitch!

Richard: Nicole, give him the damn necklace!

Nicole: (Slowly takes off her necklace)

Richard: Hand it to him...

Nicole: (Hands the man her necklace) Let us go now.

Man: (He puts his gun away) I don't think so... (He pulls at a knife and charges towards Richard and Nicole. Painful screams can be heard)

The Next Day

*The road is closed and the police investigate*

Lieutenant: So what do we got?

Officer: Two victims, stabbed in the chest, neck and hip, they were later suffocated.

Lieutenant: You identified the victims?

Officer: One is 18 year old Richard Austin. The other is a 17 year old Nicole Thompson. They were driving a Toyota Supra the 1993 model.

Lieutenant: What else did you find?

Officer: Some of there belonging were in the back seat. Wallet, car keys, a watch and a necklace.

Lieutenant: So our suspect was fake robbing them.

Officer: What do we do?

Lieutenant: Well first, I want those belongings handed over to the science lab. Second, I want the names of every suspect that was arrested yesterday and I want them interrogated, one by one. Third, the family will have to know what happened. And last but not least, we hold a task force meeting discussing the incident. The killer could still be at large, so we'll need to put together a special task force to look into the case.

Officer: Got it. We'll continue working here then and let you know if something comes up.

Lieutenant: Don't let the media get too much information, that usually ends up screwing the case over.

Officer: Understood.

(Meanwhile)

Strangler: (Enters a small storage room in his backyard) *Puts his gun as well as his knife* (Mind Monologue) When the media reveals that murder of those two kids... that's when I'll my my next move.
