SpongeCraft Frontiers has been updated to Minecraft Java 1.14! Not the biggest jump ever, but this allows us to bring in some new features while retaining enough optimization for players. I hope y'all will find this to be a welcome announcement!

We're back, y'all! It's time for the 13th round of the SBC Community Mixtape, the running tradition in which we all grab our favorite ingredients to team up and cook some high-quality musical stew. This time, though, we're going to need to pack up more than our usual load, as our theme will need us to prepare to hit the road for... THE GREAT ADVENTURE Most songs that we can all name are <5 minute long pieces that tend to stay in one gear for their entire runtime. Well, that's not quite what we're looking for this time. This mixtape is all about the epics, songs that take lots of crazy turns throughout, and could even be considered multiple tracks glued into one. In other words, the kind of vast, seemingly-endless things that feel like embarking on the audible equivalent of a grand adventure story on every listen. While they can be of any length, I tend to find that, the longer they are, the better! As always, the rules: Length limits per person: due to the nature of this mixtape's theme, I'm upgrading the total submissions limit for this one to 45 minutes per person. (This site is great for calculating the times.) Try to post your submissions using a Spotify playlist. If this is not possible for you, at least make sure that all of your submissions are available on Spotify. Joke/troll entries can and most likely will be excluded. No repeat entries (can't submit the same thing as somebody else). Tentative deadline for submissions is Saturday, September 16th. I expect this mixtape might get a little bit out of hand, but until then, I'm off to hunt for some symphonies to check out.

Can you feel that? You better hold on. This one's about to get rocky. Nearly four years ago, we waved goodbye to SpongeCraft, our classic creative Minecraft server, after several years of operating as our flagship gaming hub. Now, after nearly a year in the works... SpongeCraft is returning with a vengeance, and in a form like never before. In this game of survival, players will take a nearly 500-foot leap of faith directly into the world of the Frontierlands, a diverse, rich land of unusual formations and proportions. After making their way out of the Landing, it will be up to players and their skills to survive, thrive, and improvise in this uncharted world of pillars, mountains, and plains. Just as with classic SpongeCraft before it, Frontiers will be operating for the foreseeable future using the 1.12.2 1.14.4 version of Minecraft, with ViaVersion allowing it to be backwards-compatible with newer clients. Also keeping with tradition, this is an offline server, meaning that players without Minecraft accounts will be able to join in on the adventure as well! We will officially hold the grand opening to the Frontiers tomorrow, July 4th, at 8:00 PM Eastern time. We hope you will be there to begin a new journey into the unknown!

It's been so long since I had my TV plugged in that I didn't even know Nick at Nite aired Friends reruns. Who do they think they are, TBS? And more importantly, what did they do to the George Lopez show?! Its absence is blasphemy!
