One day this forum might have a big house with nice cars and fancy clothes and a wife with a big old diamond ring.

Don't forget, I have an account on Pulse Music, it's a neat forum! I use the alternative page a lot, feel free to look at my misadventures, like this topic!

some notes about block party weekend as we're on the last day:
a lot of the 80s-2000's artists of course, only 10's one so far are Mumford and Sons, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, local Loudspeaker ones on Sunday nights, Metric (though they were around since 2003, I guess I'm counting them in a "blew up in late 2009" way lol)
- I forgot how about I Believe in You by Talk Talk and how good it is, haven't heard that in years since I was a kid (might've been old 91X or 94.9). I'm now going to listen to Spirit of Eden. That song was so subtly pretty in the synth production
- IN THE AFTERNOON BY MGMT GOT PLAYED OUT OF NOWHERE AND I MISSED IT BECAUSE I WAS DOING OTHER THINGS ONLINE WHEN I GOT UP AT 11PM
- The Postal Service, The Hives (who did appear in May's block party), Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Orchestral Manouevers in the Dark got blocks which was cool
- Square One was another childhood nostalgia song I forgot about and haven't heard in years and it might be the best Coldplay single for me
- late nights and Hilary's sets from 10-3 are the best
- a lot of live stuff for some popular songs that do get played a lot on the station which is cool (91X-Sessions from Gorillaz, Story of the Year, Matisyahu, Foo Fighters, etc)
- Covers block which was godly (The Used/MCR's Under Pressure... I forgot about that as a kid lol, my sister was into that)
- I am sadly nostalgic for the 2000's-10's, where's my Bad Suns and Atlas Genius blocks 91X
- No Placebo or Limp Bizkit block yet. Happy 22nd to Rollin', you know what time it is-
oh forgot one more note: this one is a bit deeper than May's, a bit more fair with some artists amount of blocks each one got (some got too much in May), some fantastic Cold War Kids, Killers and White Stripes choices they've been doing)

Really neat 91X still plays an old x session version or live version of a song we always play once in a while (Soul Meets Body, My Hero) for example to switch it up, nice to hear how the artists do the song acoustically. It's 91X tradition that gets an appearence on the radio sometimes. It's nice.
Cath right now. By Death Cab. Based.

Missed new music from a local band called Miniaturized and What Kind of Man by Florence and the Machine. Bad sleeping schedules suck!!

thoughts on Squidward having a spinoff where he helps a cat and a raven continue to reverse spells their wizard owners cause and he's good friends with said cat and raven and he doesn't get tortured?

I got Through Being Cool by DEVO requested on ressurection sunday today but I dozed off an hour before it got played and missed a good show. probably got my name mentioned which is always just cool to hear on radio. f

Noticed I've been feeling rather tired lately, as well as feeling weak in the body after I eat anything, kind of feeling dizzy walking. Hoping I don't have diabetes type 1 since I do eat and drink sugary and unhealthy fattening things a lot. Need to go to the doctor to check blood sugar levels soon. Maybe I'm iron deficient like my mom said? I don't know.

Rickroll lads... it's over for us.

There's no cartoon to me more overly shat on then Pickle and Peanut. The criticism isn't what annoys me, it's the assumptions in those criticisms. It's intent wasn't to ripoff or cash in on Regular Show, it wasn't made to make kids stupid out of evil intent, it didn't get Wander Over Yonder cancelled, the grossout portion of it just because of the pilot is so overblown compared to Ren and Stimpy or something adult like Brickleberry. Noah and Joel just made an experimental surrealist comedy and delivered. One of my favorite cartoons ever and it's a shame animation twitter acts like they know more than it's creator and police what can or can't be a cartoon.
-
Even I was guilty of prematurely judging it before I actually WATCHED it and gave it a shot! I'm not saying that it was ROBBED of any awards or anything, but at LEAST it TRIED to do something different! I wish there were MORE cartoons at there that were willing to be THAT experimental in their approach! Enough said!

I have concluded, after hearing 24 Clash songs in rememberance of the August 11th, 1982 concert a 91X DJ went to in Minniesota as a teenager, on Resurrection Sunday, that they're a mediocre overrated band and I'm drained of them. Straight to Hell is a banger though.
I will get the 2000's alt back on JUST YOU WAIT

New 1975, Killers, Silversun Pickups and Mars Volta are good.
The new Panic! however, is once again, like Middle of a Breakup, a one trick pony and samey sounding to the fantastic Viva Las Vengenece that I'm worried that whole album is going to sound like a generic surf rock and roll album and Brendon Urie let's me down after his solo misadventures killed the Panic project.

For the past hour and a half, I have witnessed something I haven't seen happen in a long time. A radio war.
-
Okay, so here's what happened:
There was not only Red Hot Chili Peppers performing in concert tonight in San Diego, but a Lumineers concert too. 91X played nothing but Red Hot Chili Peppers songs for an hour and a half, and 94.9 played both Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lumineers for an hour.
Here's what was played on both stations, I feel 91X won as much as I miss Lumineers since they're a guilty pleasure band of mine. (Ophelia got played at 2PM today though)
91X: True Men Don't Kill Coyotes, Suck My Kiss, By the Way, Higher Ground, Give It Away, Can't Stop, Knock Me Down, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Black Summer, Fire, Breaking the Girl, Fight Like a Brave, Aeroplane, Taste the Pain, Soul to Squeeze, Love Rollercoaster
94.9: Red Hot Chili Peppers: Higher Ground, Scar Tissue, Can't Stop, Dani California, Breaking the Girl, Black Summer, Around the World
Lumineers: Cleopatra, Ho Hey, Where We Are, Stubborn Love, Brightside, Just Like Heaven, Angela, Ho Hey (again)
That was fun. I'm so glad I had a feeling tonight to tune into radio since sometimes 91X will play some random song they never play late at night and I felt that was going to happen tonight.

Anyone else confused and annoyed of the gatekeeping of gen z people who know half of the 2000s if they were born in the 99-01 like me but then you got millenials confused and upset some 21 year old tiktoker fashion person is nostalgic for y2k fashion because they had older family wearing it and they rememebred that as a kid? I guess we never existed and were in a coma until 2015. It's an overwhelmingly popular opinion and it's such a lie. The 2000's were mostly culturally and still a bit technologically stagnant. I love the aesthetics for that era and I will not stand being called a poser one day for wanting to make stuff using that aesthetic. I know half of that decade well. Most early zoomers do.

91X program director Garett is calling me about suggestions to shake up the playlist. What I feel would help 91X be less repetitive with old songs is:
1. Instead of a surprise tune to start a set of 6-7 songs every playlist, perhaps add another one in the middle
2. Revive more 2000s-10s tunes
3. Play some recent stuff and not just 1 new song every 2 sets
4. Play more 80s/90s cuts that never get airplay (rarities, top 91s, deep cuts, etc)
5. Find new artists to play that are beloved that havent been played before on the station
Send me suggestions alt listeners ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
