[4th] Doubloon Stockpiling

Shark Tale

Recommended Posts

The fourth Doubloon Stockpiling will be tonight at 7 PM EST. This is a brand new event to March Madness, and to SBC in general, so naturally, you may be curious how this works. I'm going to warn you right now that you better read this entire post, or you are going to be totally lost.

Basically, the overall goal is to see which team can wager the most doubloons into their pot within 30 minutes. It works like an auction, think of it that way. A team member from each side will wager an amount of doubloons they have on their hand. You are not actually losing any doubloons! I should clear that up right now since it has caused confusion. I will not subtract any, as long as it is an amount you really have. Sounds simple, right? Well....

Not really. It's not as easy as you think, as I have some rules:

1.) For tonight, you can only wager an amount between 1 and 1500 per turn. You cannot wager all of your doubloons, as it'd be game over within seconds.

2.) Once you wager a number for your side, you cannot wager that number again for the rest of the game. For example, if the Band Geeks wager 700 in their first turn, they cannot wager 700 again for the rest of the game.

3.) If a team does not reply within 2 minutes, they will be skipped and the turn goes over to the next team.

4.) Both sides cannot wager the max (the 1500) in their first turns, AND NEW RULE: their first wager cannot be above 500.

5.) To spice up the game and make it harder, and after a team wagers, I will draw a card. If the card is a card from 2 - 10, then they still wager normally, but if a face card is drawn (Jack, Queen, King or Ace) your team may lose or gain doubloons in your pot depending on the card's conditions. The cards' abilities are planned in advance, so you won't know until you see them.

6.) The teams will take turns, and after the respective person from each side wagers, someone different must wager from each side. Let me demonstrate:

Drastical Turn #1: Hayden wagers 400 doubloons, and then I draw a card. (Drasticals cannot wager 400 again for the game)

Band Geek Turn #1: Trophy wagers 500 doubloons, and I draw a card. (Band Geeks cannot wager 500 again for the game)

It then goes back to the Drasticals, BUT someone who isn't Hayden from that side must wager. Same goes for Trophy. As so:

Drastical Turn #2: Halibut wagers 600 doubloons, and I draw a card. (Drasticals cannot wager 600 again for the game)

Band Geek Turn #2: Crushing wagers 700 doubloons, and I draw a card. (Band Geeks cannot wager 700 again for the game)

However, after that, you can repeat people (example: going back to Hayden for turn 3), and have a pattern of sorts. Depends how many show from each side.

Hopefully this makes some form of sense after reading this post. Good luck. The winning team will get a point, and whoever wagered the most to help will get 1,000 doubloons on said winning team (so you don't lose anything, but you gain something!).

Alright, I've flipped a coin, and the Band Geeks have the first pick! Any Band Geek can wager an amount between 1 and 500 (since as the rule states, you cannot wager above that for the first turn), and then I'll draw a card.

The Band Geeks drew an Ace of Hearts, which lets them rob the Drasticals (for an amount up to 600 they did not wager already)! They robbed 600 from them, putting them in the negatives.

A Drastical who is not hilaryfan80 can go.
