  1. Honestly I think the Future Sound of London do this kind of "lo-fi futuristic ambient techno" thing in a way that appeals more to me, but Music Has The Right To Children is a timeless classic and I'm open to their other stuff.

...oh shit, i made that very joke on the first page. oops

Honestly though I've been laughing at this right from the very first announcement, if only because this is quite literally the equivalent of a straight-to-video film, complete with Dove "Family Approved" stickers and quotes from local newstations or papers from the middle of Bumfuck, U.S.A that may or may not have been faked (I mean, this very company's done it before), somehow getting released to the masses without question.

  3. hahaha i'm getting some real deja vu here

I'm sorry, but I literally couldn't stop thinking "this looks almost exactly like The Book of Life" throughout that trailer. I'll reserve actual judgement for a while but I really gotta say I'm confused that Newt got canceled (at least partially, I'm aware of the other reasons) because it looked too similar to Rio (which, going through the details of what the plot would've been, isn't actually that similar honestly) but they're going through with this.

    Spoiler

On a side note, when that guitar showed up I thought they'd go the extra mile and rip off Kubo but thankfully I was wrong

Like, I don't even care for Assassin Cred but holy shit. How does something with so much brand recognition preform so lowly both critically and commercially?

At this point, what with the failures of the Ratchet and Clank and the admittedly-breaking-even-due-to-international-profits Warcraft films, I'm kind of worried concerning the future videogame films. Like, I know early comic book films sucked before better movies were made, but at least the 90s' videogame films awesomely sucked. Afterwards, they just sucked. There are tons of fanfilms out there, made by a few people on their spare time, that easily beat whatever crap gets pushed out by multi-millions-making studios made up of hundreds.

    This is straight up depressing.
