  1. I'm gonna make a large review of the alt charts when this year is over and done (and I'm not gonna make it like my quite frankly embarrassing review thread from my Ham days :funny:), but let me tell you, I'm much less enthusiastic about the current state of this format than you guys are. My point is...

    this

This hit the top ten on the charts (which, considering how it is on supposedly-alternative stations, means it gets played like it's #1, because the charts tend to be stagnant as fuck).

This is their standards of quality.

Think about that for a second.

  2. honestly not even the worst of 2017

    Spoiler

lemmie roll this back for you

    okay, that's pretty cool

    Ring two ver2.jpg

    that's interesting, indeed

    lmao

but yeah that tagline's definitely high on the cheese factor. As someone who doesn't like Man of Steel, utterly loathes BvS, finds SS charming for all the wrong reasons, and thought Wonder Woman was kinda good (though not that good), I have pretty much no expectations.

  3. Fully admit to only actually beating Wood Man out of all the robot masters in any of the game, but the games still remain quite enjoyable for me in spite of that.

You should. The corny voice acting is so bad, but in a good way.

    i mean granted

it's not like these games were ever talented in that field

  4. The first half of Hot Fuss is some of the best of the short-but-sweet-lasting Garage Rock Revival of the early-mid-2000's, and would make for a wicked EP.

I'm saying this because all the songs after All These Things That I've Done... aren't. Like, they really aren't.

I'm sorry, but I have to go with "Jessie's Girl." Not just because it was MADE in the 1980's, but I just don't find the idea of being romantically attracted to some girl's MOTHER appealing at all.  I don't care HOW hot she is, there are some things that as a person, you just don't DO; it's not appropriate! o.o

I, er, fail to see how proudly stating how you find underage lust good better than admitting someone's mom is kinda hot.

For that exact reason, I'll proudly go with the other, thank you.

  6. oh hey, this is

BURGER'S LOOKING BACK AT HOW STUPID HE AND OTHER PEOPLE (NOBODY IN PARTICULAR) WERE

so, uh, let the painful memories begin

    retrospective thoughts below:

    Spoiler

Tomorrowland was decent, if nothing spectacular.

Avengers: Age of Ultron was... extremely disappointing. I mean, considering the high standard the first one set, I should've expected it to not outshine it, but...

I adored everything about Inside Out at the time, but it's growing off me at an alarming rate.

Ant-Man was a great movie, but I believe it could be one of the best in the MCU if they just let Edgar Wright do what he'd wanted to do.

The Good Dinosaur just seemed to come and go, didn't it? Didn't strike me with anything interesting from the trailer, frankly.

Star Wars Episode VII was great. Not much more than that.

Zootopia, similar to Inside Out, quickly descended to "meh" for me.

Did anyone actually demand a sequel to the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland? That needs to be addressed.

Civil War was some great fun.

Finding Dory made for a decent way to waste a hour and a half. Otherwise, it's nothing really special.

Doctor Strange turned out to be one of the weakest MCU movies I've seen, but it's still decent.

Rouge One didn't really leave an impression on me, honestly

GITS is... apparently good for remake standards? Refused to give a watch after learning about the bullshit they added to defend whitewashing (which, mind you, isn't even something I care about most of the time)

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is currently shaping up to be one of my favorite movies of this year, such a blast.

I'm hopeful for the new Star Wars, discard what I said earlier.

Toy Story 4 is kind of a "I'll see where the fuck this goes" kind of deal.

Pirates 5 is better than the last one, but I still hesitate to call it good. It is, at the very least, not boring like how On Stranger Tides was.

Tomorrowland (Seems cool. Don't know if I'll be seeing it though.)
Avengers: Age of Ultron (Never really been interesting in these weirdos.)
Inside Out (Eh. The trailer was pretty funny but I'm not sure this will be able to sustain a whole film.)
Ant-Man (Seems cool. Don't know if I'll be seeing it though.)
    Bridge of Spies (ew history)
    The Good Dinosaur (Sounds interesting.)
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (If it's not a sequel to the Phineas and Ferb crossover, I'm not interested.)
The Finest Hours (boo disasters films)
    Zootopia (I like the logo?)
The Jungle Book Remake (Didn't Disney already do a remake of this?)
Alice Through The Looking Glass (who cares)
Captain America: Civil War (I don't care about this weirdo either.)
    Finding Dory (YES)
The BFG (Why the hell is the title abbreviated?)
    Pete's Dragon Remake (What's a Pete's Dragon?)
Moana (This sounds like a Disney Princess porno.)
Doctor Strange (All doctors are strange.)
Star Wars: Rouge One (BUT IS IT A SEQUEL TO THE PHINEAS AND FERB CROSSOVER)
Beauty and the Best Remake (I don't care)
Ghost in the Shell (ew anime)
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (Didn't see the first movie.)
Star Wars Episode VII (WHAT ABOUT PHINEAS AND FERB)
Toy Story 4 (I like Toy Story but if it's gonna be a rom-com...Yeah, I don't know about that.)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (Indeed.)

I don't know what happened to this man, but I want him back.

  7. Spotify's pretty good, but their ads are unintentionally hilarious at best and absolutely unbearable at worst. AdBlock only works on one of the two computers. The recommendation system is often hit or miss. That new web design is also not very good, just pointing it out. That said, the one I can trust the most for albums, and the source of my playlist I play all the time.

Youtube's the same above, except the AdBlock thing is universal, which is good, and also has the challenge of picking out an album with the original sound, which can get annoying with albums that are pitch-shifted. What's the point?

I don't really use Pandora, I'm an album person. Occasionally my dad pulls it out for dinner but not often. He usually just plays white guys with acoustic guitars.

I absolutely refuse to use Apple Music. Let's just point out that the other services I use don't fucking remove all the other songs on my hard drive.

A part of me wonders if in like 20-25 years this will be seen in the same light as we see films like Batman and Robin or Troll 2 or something. I don't think this is as bad as those but I can't help but wonder.

I mean, you can have fun while watching either of those films. Like I said before, this doesn't even seen interestingly bad.

(On a side note, while I'm talking about it in a positive (?) light, I always associate watching a random scene of BaR around midnight when I was 8 with introducing this song to me, so it's done something right, at least?)

  9. Honestly, the funniest thing about the Rotten Tomatoes score is that if you go ahead and actually read the Fresh reviews (all two of them!), they're literally saying the exact same thing the Rotten reviews - mediocre at best and Product Placement: The Movie at worst.

Although then again, for how much I joke about this movie, that's only at a glance. Some ideas, like that one film where John Wayne played Genghis Khan (You don't remember?) are admirable in just how bad the idea was (although that wasn't the only reason that film would've been remembered... just scroll down on that Wikipedia page for the unfortunate... conditions). They truly make for material I consider funnibad.

As for potential funnibad in The :cosby: Movie?

...just nothing. Like, if you were planning on watching this ironically, you might as well be watching a blank screen, because there's nothing in the enjoyable sort of cringe that keeps me coming back to cringe compilations and the ilk from what I've seen. If you actually pay to see this, for ironic reasons, that's probably the worst thing you could do with this, as that'll most likely make way for a bleak as hell future where movies succeed on identity rather than effort.

Please, for the love of god, I hope this blows up in Sony's face.

  10. I think one of my friends said that Franco looks more like himself with a Tommy Wiseau wig, and... he's got a point, actually.

But at the same time, is there even anyone who can nail the Tommy Wiseau look than Tommy Wiseau?
