SBC has somehow made it to our 15th birthday, which is a milestone I’m sure many never expected us to reach. It’s surreal seeing how far we’ve come from a small scrappy refuge forum in 2009 to a somewhat large friend group that happens to circle around SpongeBob in 2024. SBC has continued to be my favorite place to be on the internet and I’m proud of how it’s evolved over the years. Forums are sadly a dying breed and while our Discord may be the center of activity now, I still enjoy keeping the forum around for nostalgia and other purposes. Whether you celebrate our anniversary through the forum or Discord, it doesn’t matter as both are equally valid. Now here’s special sentimental words from several members:
I owe a special thanks to everyone’s who helped keep the community afloat over these 15 years. Even if you don’t visit the community often anymore, your contributions are still greatly appreciated and your presence will never be forgotten. SBC will always be around in some form and that’s the beauty of it. I said during our 10th anniversary there’s something almost magical about this community and that remains true. Now go on and enjoy the Anthemic Anniversary festivities! We’ve also temporarily reopened our old forumotion site if you want a trip down memory lane. Happy birthday, everyone!

Depending if you play the instrument well, you could receive: nothing, 100-300 doubloons, 10-30 experience, the Pineapple Guitar collectable or DJ Sponge badge. You may only play in this once every 24 hours.

Here's a contest for Anthemic Anniversary to flex your song writing abilities. There are no specific guidelines for how your song needs to be written, as long as it sounds like one. It does not need to be a full song and can be a small snippet. It can also not be an already existing song or the submission will be tossed out. Otherwise, go wild, as long as it doesn't sound like Squidward's clarinet.
A panel of staff members will choose the best song, who will receive 1,000 doubloons, DJ Sponge badge (if not already obtained), Pineapple Guitar collectable (if not already obtained) and 200 experience points. You have until August 31st to submit your song in this thread.

Yep, SBC's 15th anniversary is upon us next week, as hard as that is to believe. For this year's milestone celebration, we're doing something different compared to the last two. A few months ago, we asked the community what old event they'd like to see come back for our 15th anniversary. The winning choice was music (Fab Beats February 2017), and with how important music has been to various SBC members over the years, there was no better choice to represent our 15th anniversary. Celebrate your favorite music and party in Anthemic Anniversary, from August 15th to 31st. Here’s what games and activities will occur during this grand event:
- Stop What You Are Doing - Musician Edition: If you want to be named a musician or band during the event, then sign up here or on Discord.
- Discord Party: The event will kick off with a Discord party on August 15th, which will contain a Discord Activity, raffle and more!
- Cards Against Humanity: A CAH game will be held every Friday night during the event.
- Turntable Parties: A turntable party will be held every Friday night during the event.
- SpongeBob Pictionary: Two Pictionary games will be held August 17th and 24th, with the themes of SBC History and Albums respectively.
- SpongeCraft Frontiers: SpongeCraft games will be held August 17th and 31st, with the first being a music note contest,
- Discord Activities: In addition to the one held during the August 15th party, one will also be held August 24th.
- Jackbox: Jackbox will be held on both Monday nights during the event.
- Kahoot: Kahoot games wll be held on both Wednesday nights during the event, with the themes of SBC and Music respectively.
- Jeopardy: Jeopardy will make a special one-time return game on August 22nd!
- Flash Archive Game: A flash game will be held on August 29th.
- Song Writing Contest: Have a unique song idea? Then test your creativity skills in this writing contest!
- Community Mixtape & Block Party: Hawk and Steel's music traditions will both be an official part of the event!
- Forumotion Revisit: As a bonus, our old forumotion site will be temporarily accessible again so you can see how far we've come snce then.
- Forum Minigame - Instrument Jam: Play instruments for doubloons and experience in this minigame.
We're going to make this our best anniversary celebration yet and we truly hope people love it! Rock on and happy 15 years, everyone!
