It appears that Ink's army just wouldn't be powerful enough to overthrow the King and Queen. It surrenders.

As for Stuck in the Wringer landing #1: This used to be an episode that always nabbed a high ranking on my lists. I think at the time it aired I found it as infuriating as Kitchen or Triton to be one of the show's worst offerings and I comfortably agreed with the hatred. But I recently watched it again and, even if it's faint praise, it's one of Season 7's better episodes. You might think that Patrick acted completely out-of-hand but it shows a complete arc of him doing a wrong, helping SpongeBob to feel better the way he knows how, and realizing that his methods were selfish and ineffective in practice.

Compared to "Yours Mine and Mine" where it makes the friendship seem completely unbalanced, here it shows that Patrick's genuinely trying to be a good friend. It's a breath of fresh air that he actually realizes SpongeBob's outburst was justified and makes a legitimate apology. That's unseen for modern SpongeBob. The scene townsfolk may have appeared rude, but it's less because of malice, and more that they missed crucial details of the argument and interpreted SpongeBob's cry for help as unwarranted anger. When I think of it, the situation is realistic and it's set up well.

Then there's the ending scene. Yes, the line "I guess crying does solve your problems after all" was a stupid joke, but I can look past it as it was at least foreshadowed by Patrick's earlier line in Weenie Hut Jr's. But what this hides is a genuinely good lesson I think kids would learn a lot from. If SpongeBob and Patrick continued to stay away from each other out of rage, the conflict would never have been solved and both would continue to spiral into insanity. When both let out their tears, it both solved the physical problem of the wringer and the emotional distance it's caused. Again, next to "Mine" where it was one-sided towards SpongeBob being in the right the whole time, "Wringer" effectively shows a morally gray situation where each characters show individual flaws that can only be made up if they work together.

Sorry but I just don't feel sympathy for Patrick. He completely ignores SpongeBob for 99% of the episode and just does what he wants to do with no regard for his friend. Sorry but when you glue someone (For no reason) in a way that can ruin there life, and let them get hurt repeatedly, you gotta do something a little more than an I'm sorry routine. There are some things where an apology isn't good enough. Patrick has no repercussions for his actions and the one time he's called out SpongeBob is treated like a monster for doing so, yeah SpongeBob was harsh, but his harshness was justified since Patrick was being a d-bag who potentially ruined his life, his job, and his hobbies forever. The scene shouldn't of been included because it completely lets Patrick dodge any responsibility he had to own up to. His apology is so forced after how dang inconsiderate and moronic he was through the whole thing. I don't think the moral works since it's played as a stupid joke and that there's a much more elegant way to word that, yes grieving can help people coupe with trauma but the reasons SpongeBob cries in this series are so stupid that you really associate crying this character for a serious moral.

    Wringer is traaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaash.

  2. Wow. I didn't expect A Pal for Gary to be overthrown. It's completely deserved though, Stuck on the Wringer is #5 on my list, and I considered putting it higher. Easily one of the most toxic and completely obnoxious episodes ever. A Pal for Gary is awful too and we all know why.

    My List:

    Spoiler

    1. Truth or Square (#17)

    2. Sportz? (#30)

    3. SpongeBob, You're Fired (#5)

    4. Atlantis SquarePantis (#36)

    5. Stuck in the Wringer (#1)

    6. Boating Buddies (#21)

    7. Squid Baby (#6)

    8. Smoothe Jazz at Bikini Bottom (#8)

    16. Ink Lemonade, would be my #1 now (#4)

  3. All 4 of these episodes made my list.

Smoothe Jazz is horrible and one of the most obnoxious and stupid episodes. It's so hard to sit through.

The Clash of Triton is one of the worst constructed episodes I've seen. Like how can you screw this up this badly?

Squid Baby is juvenile and downright offensive.

SpongeBob, You're Fired has no artistic merit at all. Although if you're aware of the background fish meme on SBM you might know why I can't take this ep too seriously atm.

  4. All That Glitters: Probably the first awful episode of the show. Didn't make my list because there's been more awful episodes since, but I wouldn't blame someone for putting it on their list. Along with the crying it weirdly plays the soap opera plot fairly straight.

    Boating Buddies: Lel.

Rodeo Daze: Glad this one is higher. It made my list, albeit barely at #25. Not the most unwatchable episode but it lacks value in every category and everything is so messy. Sandy was seriously close to becoming SpongeBob's meg where they just made fun of how useless she was rather than do anything interesting with her. This and Kitchen both have Sandy treated like trash and they couldn't even remember her name in Last Stand. Thankfully season 8 fixed this, one of the few things I can credit season 8 for.

Yours, Mine and Mine: Pretty annoying episode but my hate for this one has died down a bit. Patrick is intolerable and the conflict is really petty childish even for SpongeBob, but I can credit the episode for not boring me as much as some other season 6-8 episodes. Still a really bad episode and I can't blame anyone for putting it on their lists.

Squid's Visit: Made my list at #17. This show can produce some really creative and interesting episodes when it goes into the realm of creepy, this is not one of those.

Truth or Square: Yep this is my #1. I'm considering making Ink Lemonade my #1 but this is truly an abysmal episode either way. It's just a complete waste of time that doesn't even bother to put smallest plot in. More than anything else this really feels like an insult towards people who actually care about the quality of the show. Thanks for the 3 commentators who did a good job explaining why this episode fails so badly.

Fungus Among Us: I have a hard time trying to figure out what they were trying to accomplish with this episode, there's nothing funny at all, I don't even see where they're attempting to make jokes and it doesn't even go all the way with the gross-out. Didn't make my list but a stinker for sure.

The Splinter: This one was close to making my list. I don't think it's that gross any more but it's still an awful episode. This is just gross-out. For it to be gross-out humor there needs to be humor. The splinter just becoming disgusting isn't funny itself. I also despise Patrick in this episode. It's boring as well.

Someone's in the Kitchen With Sandy: A boring rehash with stupid humor. Didn't make my list but it was close.

Slide Whistle Stooges: I'm glad this one made it much higher this year. I forgot just how bad this one was until I rewatched it. The gags were painfully annoying and the ending has to be one of the most insulting ones ever. Squidward is treated like a monster but SpongeBob and Patrick slide whistling in a hospital is okay? #12 on my list.

    Choir Boys: Lel.

Pet or Pests: #9 on my list. Disgusting and bland episode with no redeeming qualities at all.

  5. I don't hate Waiting any more. It'd probably be a pretty bad episode if I watched it again, but honestly after so many boring episodes in seasons 6-9 it's hard for this one to stand out for me. At least this episode had the decency to only waste 7 minutes of my life instead of 11, 22 and however long the TV movies were.

Demolition Doofus can thank Ink Lemonade for escaping my list. It was my original #25 before that ink-stained travesty came into the picture. It's still a terrible episode though. The story is way too dark in a way that isn't subtle or clever. Even without that it's just another boring season 8 episode that has zero jokes, even the demolition derby is extremely dull as it's just SpongeBob doing nothing and winning.

Eh. I'm not a fan of Sanitation Insanity, but it at least had more than 1 gag.

  7. Little Yellow Book didn't make my list. It's a bad episode for sure, but if anything the first half was pretty good for 9a standards. SpongeBob's inverted views of Squidward yelling at him in his diary as well as other gags are pretty decent. The episode tanks in the second half but not enough for me to truly hate it.

To Love a Patty didn't make my list either, although it was closer than Little Yellow Book. For as disgusting and creepy as it is it borders on "So bad it's good" territory, especially with the horribly cheesy song.
